It is especially frustrating to spend an hour or two in map view, zoomed to an extent that covers your project, getting symbols right, etc, then drag the map to a layout and be zoomed to the whole world! In Arc, I could be at 1:24000 in data view, and in layout view that would default to say, 1:56000 initially, but zoomed in on my project area. Set that to 1:24000. But most importantly, I can (In Arc), in data view, zoom, pan, and center on a feature, go to layout view, I'm zoomed, panned, and centered on that feature. In Pro, this is more mouse clicks as I now have to "Activate" something.

Yeah, that seems like a good thing to have. I haven't done much with Runtime, but am about to, so I'm curious how this pans out.

I upvoted, but a few questions: When you create an offline map of a hosted feature service, it loads it into a SQLite DB in the project folder. As part of a training, I showed users how to recover edits from an unsaved pro project crash: start a new project, connect to the last project folder, go into the SQLite GDB thingy, add all of the feature classes to a new map, DON'T MAKE ANY MORE EDITS, just hit "Sync" then "Remove". It worked. Is that your issue, or, do you not see that behavior? I was thinking about this just yesterday, if the same workflow would work for recovering a failed sync from collector/s123.

Thanks for the update, Crowdsource does look useful. As an update to my original post, a lot has change in 4 years, and due to laws and licensing, we have to go through a lot of flaming hoops to enable public data collection. The documentation has since clarified the question.Regarding your latest post, I'm a big fan of S123, and have grand visions to use the web page version of it for a very neat and cool public ####### reporting application. Stay tuned......

You're probably an agency, so I wouldn't run afoul of data security rules, outside of submitting it to TS. However, where I was going, sometime vectronics would put some wonky characters in the lat/lon, or some craziness like change a field format with the addition of some floating point values in what was normally a text field.....

I'm shooting from the hip here, but can you Right Click -> Run as different User -> Service Account that is running Portal credentials on Active Directory Users and Computers, open up a user, and see all of the account attributes? More hip shooting, do the same with Powershell (running it as the service account credentials)?

I feel like this is a new question, as there's lots and lots of posts on this topic. Back in the day, with iTunes, I could just drag a tpk over to the Survey 123 "App" and the tpk would be available to Survey123 when in a survey and selecting "Map Types". Fast forward a few versions of IoS, Itunes, and S123, I can no longer do that. Itunes lets me put the tpk in the app folder. However, with iPhone Music, Messages & File Transfer for Mac & PC · iExplorer I can do it: Problem is, we're not allowed to use Iexplore....

I'm really interested in using this tool, are you able to post a sample script that demonstrates some of the concepts in your post? I'm having a hard time with the minimal documentation.

Repro: Add a 10.5.1 FS from "Servers" connection (not from a federated PTL) to a new Pro Prj where the FS is driven by a SDE 10.5.1/SQL 2014 FC, not registered as versioned where there are no other layers in the map and the FS has two layers, point and poly, and editor tracking is turned on; Build a query against a double field with no domain, validate, and run. 1 second. Close the GP window. Download the map. Same query, press Validate. Watch the dots march across the screen. CPU eventually pegs at 99%. Only way to stop is to kill Pro...

Will the 2.2 system requirements specify for what purpose one would need the "bling" GPU (3D) versus what the minimum requirements are for most of us that do not have any need for 3D (and stubbornly will continue mapping in 2D 'till we retire). I'm having a hard time convincing upper management that we need to start getting computers outside of the normal "email checker" that is the default desktop config, on which Arc Map runs fine.

Will the full Arc Map course be re-released for the 10.5-10.6 environment? That 10.0 course was very handy for getting some one with almost no GIS skills to handling basic mapping. The 3 hour tutorial doesn't quite achieve that.

This course appears to no longer be available: http://training.esri.com/gateway/index.cfm?fa=catalog.webCourseDetail&courseid=1942 . Specifically looking for the ArcMap course, not Pro, as we will not be moving to Pro for quite some time and need for folks to be able to learn how to use the current software.
