Hi, Unfortunately it's not possible to create Add-ins based on control beyond the ones currently supported in 1500 (button, gallery, dockwindow, extension, combobox, checkbox). We'll bear in mind your request for future releases. I also recommend submitting your suggestion at http://ideas.arcgis.com. Re the Analysis drop down window - this is a Gallery Add-in, although it's an internal extension of it which allows additional menu items at the bottom. However - you can get quite a lot of flexibility in the Gallery by implementing different behaviour based on what gets clicked, adding other images/text as separators. See this Add-in for an example: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=b2814df318ad4b3482cf05ce62db1967. Cheers Mike Yes, this is very much needed. The toolbar is too limiting.

Is the first layer in the contents window suppose to be on top? I have a map service and image service in the contents window. Even when the map service is on top of the image servcie in the contents window, the map service is always displayed below the image service? How do I move layers up in the layer draw order?

From the ArcMap help, it states the following reason for using a feature dataset: "To organize data access based on database privileges Sometimes, users organize data access privileges using feature datasets. All feature classes contained within a feature dataset have the same access privileges. For example, users might need to use more than one feature dataset to segment a series of related feature classes to account for differing access privileges between users. Each group has editing access to one of the feature datasets and its feature classes, but no editing access for the others." I need to secure feature classes and tables inside a geodatabase. I was going to use a Feature Dataset as a container since I could set the permissions at the Feature Dataset level. Also, my data differs by spatial reference per dataset. Apparently, I cannot add a table to a feature dataset. I have two tables which I need to secure with the Feature Classes in the Feature Dataset. Are there any options? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Russel. Just to confirm: If I am required to use all windows authentictaion and do not want to give out server-wide access to all databases, then I should create a windows account sde user using the following directions. Is this correct? http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisserver/10.0/help/arcgis_server_dotnet_help/index.html#//002q0000002t000000.htm If you are running on a server that only supports Windows Authentication, ArcSDE setup and administration is greatly simplified by creating a dbo-schema geodatabase because there is no need to configure a special Windows sde login. Also, anyone who maps to the dbo user in the database can perform ArcSDE administrative tasks, such as compress. If you have a more restrictive security model, you might want to configure an sde-schema geodatabase. Unlike the dbo user, which usually has server-wide access to all databases, the sde user can be restricted to just a handful of statement permissions within a specific database.

Is an SDE user always created? Does mixed mode always need to be enabled? If I choose to create a geodatabase that is owned by a user who is dbo in the database, do I need mixed mode and is there a SDE user? I guess I can create my own SDE user with a Windows Account? http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisserver/10.0/help/arcgis_server_dotnet_help/002q/002q0000002t000000.htm Any issues with this approach? Comments?

Does the ArcGIS Explorer SDK support saving session information in the NMF file? i.e. similar to IPersist in ArcMap... For example, we will be creating some custom windows and would like to repopulate them based on a users session. Can we save this in the NMF file or do we need to save their session to a database table? Thanks!

Are there any tools available to perform simulationed load tests against an instance of ArcGIS Server? For example, I would like to register a bunch of map and image services. Then, run a tool which would allow me to simulate different amounts of users performing actions on the services to see how the server responds. All suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

How do you work with time-aware layers in ArcGIS Explorer? If I wanted to re-create the same Time Slider window from ArcMap into ArcGIS Explorer, how would I consume the map services? SOAP, REST, local connection? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need to do this for vector and imagery data.
