Getting Ready for Esri 2018 - It's Time to Upgrade from ArcGIS 10.1

Exciting things are coming for GIS users in 2018 - ArcGIS Desktop 10.6 and ArcGIS Pro 2.1 are being released in January, along with some great new tools, features and functionality. Esri Technical Support is excited to work with our customers in these new environments, but what does this mean for some of the older platform versions?

Alas, on January 1, 2018, ArcGIS 10.1 is officially retired! 

Here's a quick list of what this entails: 

• Technical Support will not be available for ArcGIS Desktop 10.1, ArcGIS Server 10.1, or Enterprise GDBs at 10.1
• It will not be possible to request a Support Case for ArcGIS Desktop/Server/Enterprise 10.1
• We are here to help you with upgrading. If you need technical support for the upgrade process, give us a call. 

As this year comes to a close, it's important to plan ahead. Get a jump start on upgrading your applications and geodatabases, and reach out to us if you have questions.

Dear Julia,

Currently we have ArcGIS License Manager 10.1 with Nautical extension. We have a plan to upgrade to License Manager 10.5.1.

Is it Nautical extension in ArcGIS 10.1 same as Maritime extension in ArcGIS 10.2 and up? Or both extension, Nautical and Maritime, is totally different extension?

If both extension is the same one, only changes in name, is it possible to upgrade ArcGIS License Manager from version 10.1 to 10.5.1, without affecting current user that using Nautical extension?

How about ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry, extension for ArcGIS Desktop? Is it another type of extension? Not the same as Nautical extension?

For specific licensing questions, it's probably better to contact your customer service rep and/or local distributor.  Although your may gt an answer here re if the name changed (I do not know), usually licensing questions won't/can't be address in the forums.  (but the to links in the original post might have something that will help)

Thanks for your clarification. I try to check all ESRI website for this licensing reference, but I cannot find one. Apologize if I'm still new in this ArcGIS world, so I'm not aware about this changes if it happens previously, from ArcGIS Nautical solution extension, to ArcGIS Maritime extension. Or maybe no changes, but ESRI have new extension for new version of ArcGIS?

Sure, I will contact to customer service in ESRI local distributor here, hopefully we can get some answer from them about this extension licensing query.
