Hello, I abandoned the use of tile packages in Collector and started using map areas for disconnected data collection. I create the map areas in AGOL so field staff simply downloaded these to the mobile devices when connected. Unfortunately; however, only 16 map areas can be created for each web map. This is a problem for us because our 38 field sites are discontiguous over a very large area. As a result more than one web map exists. Tony

Hi James Tedrick‌, Generating reports from within Operations Dashboard is what we're interested in doing using an existing feature report template. The dashboard would provide a single interface for staff to access both the information and generate the reports associated with the workflow (timber inspections). Unfortunately, I was unable to locate the REST API call information you referenced to generate reports within the Early Adopter Community. Thanks. Tony

Hello Owen Evans. I was disappointed that the August 2019 update to ArcGIS StoryMaps did not include the ability to publish to groups. This is a major issue because few individuals in our organization have the permissions to publish with everyone or within the organization; and the bureaucracy required to make that happen is considerable and can drag on for weeks. When can the ability to publish ArcGIS StoryMaps to groups be expected? Thanks. Tony

After updating to the latest June, 2019 release of Collector (19.1.0 build 2666) and trying to add a 58 GB tile package offline area with NAD 83 UTM Zone 14N coordinate system, I get the message 'Local Basemap Incompatible' I did try projecting the tile package to web mercator using the latest release of Pro; however, this crashed with error 99999 after running for a few days. There's no issue using this same tile package in Classic so we're sticking with that for this field program. Tony

Hello, I've sideloaded a tile package (.tpk) to Collector (19.0.1; build 2609) on iOS (12.3.1) for disconnected (offline) use. I've also configured the web map to use a tile package for the offline basemap by selecting 'Device will use a tile package it already has.' and providing that package filename. However, I've encountered a couple issues so have the following question related to this: The first issue is I can't access the tile package in Collector unless a map area has also been created. Is this to be expected? The point of creating the tile package and sideloading was to eliminate the need for generating numerous map areas. Having created a map area, and now seeing the sideloaded tpk as a basemap option in Collector when disconnected, trying to open results in the following error: 'Basemap Unavailable. The spatial reference is not compatible with the map'. This error does not appear when using the same .tpk in Collector Classic; however, given the size of the .tpk (over 50GB) and our iPad storage capacity, copying the .tpk twice (once in Collector and again in Classic via iTunes) is not possible. Any insight on these issues would be appreciated. Thanks. Tony Viveiros

Yes, the S123 Inbox feature does work well for most of our surveys. However, I've found that S123 performance suffers when survey records number in the thousands, particularly for complex surveys. I've also found that dealing with tile packages (.tpk) for disconnected data capture is simpler in Collector; and it doesn't help that S123 can't access existing .tpk files on iOS used by Collector. The map component of Collector is also superior, so I'm wondering if multiple repeat inspections for points (trees) already captured could be done more effectively in S123 but through a Collector URL call that accesses only the related (repeat) table. Our workflow for this is entirely in S123 right now.

Hello....Johnathan Hasthorpe...This is a workflow I would be interested in getting more info about...."You could, in fact, use the custom url from Collector to launch a new survey targetting the related table, prepopulated with the GUID used to link it back to the parent feature. I've created a Survey123 form with select_multiple questions and was hoping to use the smart editor widget to edit the data in these fields (e.g. Weather below). This is no problem with select_one S123 questions because the domain drop-down exists (e.g. GCP's Collected). However, I'm thinking this is not possible for select_multiple fields... Tony

I guess this whitelisting would explain why I’ve been unable to connect the Trimble R1 with S123 (v3.3.64) on iOS (v12.1.4). However, the R1 works fine with Collector on iOS via GNSS Status. It’s frustrating that our 4 R1’s work with Collector but not S123 on our 28 iPads. Any idea if/when Trimble might whitelist S123 to work with their receivers on iOS?

Hello, I have a numerous web maps that include only hosted tile layers and was hoping I could use the dashboard category selector to select which of these web maps appear in a single dashboard map element. Is this possible? Thanks. Tony

Unfortunately, this has not been fixed with the December, 2018 AGOL update. I just had a bunch of domains disappear on me for a hosted feature service created with Survey 123.

Thanks for the reply Nicolas. I wasn't sure how to get the submission_url so created a new survey from the hosted view to get at that. After pasting that url along with the form_id into the test survey I created from my main survey I was able to save and publish. However, when trying to refresh the Inbox to view the data get the attached error message.
