Hi Philip, My current Collector feature service with the pre-established plots does not have all the fields needed for the S123 Survey. Do I need to add all these fields to the service before creating the Survey from it? Or can I simply update the service with new fields via S123 Connect? If the latter, will repeats created with Connect be reflected in the ‘updated’ service after publishing? Thanks. Tony

I have a current Collector and Survey 123 workflow referenced here that I'm wondering if I can improve by using the same feature service. The current workflow uses a feature layer in Collector with pre-established plot locations to call a S123 form. Survey 123 then creates a new feature layer with points in different locations that are not always close to the original plot location. However, I'm wondering if a plot point that I select in Collector can be edited by Survey 123 without S123 creating a new feature layer. Is this possible? If so, am I simply creating the survey from the existing feature service and adding fields to it as needed? Or do I need to create a consolidated geodatabase schema that has fields from both Collector & Survey 123 first before creating the web map & survey? Would it matter if multiple field staff would be syncing their S123 edits at different times (data overwritten?)? Thanks.

Hello...thanks Jarrod for posting. I also experienced the same issue with a file geodatabase feature class published from ArcMap 10.4.1 to AGOL having zero records. My initial time field was a short integer representing year (e.g. 2016). I converted this into a Date field using the Convert Time Field tool in ArcMap, then enabled time on the layer from the properties by pointing to the new converted Date time field. Upon publishing this, I now had all time enabled records in AGOL.

Hello...I encountered this "Enter valid credentials..." issue in Collector (v17.0.1) after our organizational AGOL account was enabled to "Allow access to the organization through HTTPS only." The solution was to use the ArcGIS Online Assistant to update the URLs of both the services in a web map and those of registered apps and services by adding an 's' to URL paths as needed. Tony

Not sure about the 1000 value, but I recently encountered a similar issue and traced the source to an incorrect field type definition. As I recall, the survey field type was incorrectly defined as text in the xlsform but numeric data entry was expected. After I changed the field type to integer in the xlsform and republished, the red text went away. Tony

Hello...any solution to this URL encoding issue raised by Niels? I'm also encountering this problem when pre-populating a survey with information separated by commas. So what should be AS,RP,TA,BS,TL,BF,BA,JP,EC,WB,WS becomes AS%2CRP%2CTA%2CBS%2CTL%2CBF%2CBA%2CJP%2CEC%2CWB%2CWS Thanks. Tony

I appear to have solved my problem, i.e., I was able to configure a web map and use this within Collector to call Survey123 and prepopulate a new feature service (created by 123) with the data coming from the web map feature service. My sources of error were varied and included: (1) spaces in the URL. Because I had many fields to pre-populate, I was typing the URL in Notepad with word wrap, then copying this into the URL link properties. Doing so, however, introduced spaces into the string that caused issues with fields prepopulating. (2) Setting the readonly property to yes for text fields to prepopulate in 123 seemed to be an issue. As a result, I removed the yes, i.e., did not make them readonly. (3) I also failed to download 123 surveys after making changes to them. As a result, I was trying to prepopulate an old survey which didn't work. Hopefully this experience helps others.

Hello, In order to pass existing attributes from a web map (via Collector) to a Survey123 form, is it necessary for the same feature service to be used? I've created a survey123 form using the advanced template and have managed to invoke this survey from a web map through Collector but have not had any success passing the attributes from the web map into Survey123. When I create a new Survey123 form using the existing web map feature service and refer to this in the Collector popup, the attributes come across and my survey is prepopulated. However, it's my understanding that you can't edit existing features using Survey123. I don't want to create additional points with Survey123 within this same feature service. Am I missing something basic here? Thanks.

I'm having a similar issue with relevant not working using Survey123 Connect version 1.9.24. The user is asked to select an average log diameter (6cm, 8cm, etc.) and the number of these logs using a spinner. Depending on the diameter selected & logs entered, different wood volumes should be calculated. However, as the image below illustrates, the total volume calculation is incorrect and includes the calculations for diameters that were not selected. In other words, the relevant component of the survey appears to have no impact. As well, I was wondering why the total void volume calculation result is a concatenation of values, rather than an addition. I have attached the survey. Thanks.

I've tried to constrain the new spinner appearance to values greater than 0, however, have been unable to do so (still get negatives). Is this expected behaviour? Thanks.
