Hello, I have created a Survey123 app that meets the needs of the requestors except for one issue. They would like to have the different select_one option groups relevant settings (and the associated data with those) to export as different tabs in an excel spreadsheet or as different csv files. I know that can be accomplished in setting up repeats as it creates related tables, but is there another way to accomplish the same task? There is no need for repeats in any of the options chosen. There will always be just one. As an example, they need to choose whether they want to enter information in for: Level 1 Assessment, Level 2 Assessment, Seasonal Start-Up, GWR Violation, Treatment Visit, or Annual Site Visit. Once they choose which option they want, a series of questions appear and there will not be a case where more than one Level 1 Assessment will need to be entered for the same feature. I know that I could also split them up into different forms, but that isn't ideal since the first few questions are the same for each feature. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Lisa D.

It would be great if we could hide sensitive data in Power BI like addresses and coordinates. Due to concern of potential homeland security risks that could affect public health, there is a need to not allow users to have access to the exact location for public water systems. We want them to appear on the map, but not allow users to know exactly where that is. It would be great to allow certain columns to be not accessible to users even if it is in the map and/or tables.

Hello, I am using the ArcGIS for Power BI visual in Power BI. I have a table with coordinates that I am using for the location data, but I don't want those coordinates to be available in the pop-up window when you select a location or the data exports. Is there a way to hide that sensitive information? I have seen other ways to hide data in Power BI, but nothing that will work well for coordinates or addresses from what I can see. Is there a way to hide this sensitive data? Thanks in advance for any assistance with this. Lisa D.

Hello, I am using the ArcGIS for Power BI visual in Power BI. Is there a way to not show the location data in the pop-up windows or data exports to avoid sharing sensitive information? I have seen ways to hide other types of data in Power BI, but there doesn't seem to be anything specifically for hiding addresses or coordinates if we do not want those available once published. Thanks in advance for any assistance with this. Lisa D.

Hi Peg, You can enter in if statements in the Required fields so that at least one of them is completed. You can ask questions like 'Do you know the exact date for the field sample?' If they answer yes, you can set up a relevant statement to include the option for the dd/mm/yyyy. If they say no, then you can ask if they know the month and year....so forth. So, you are most likely going to get the exact date if known, and if not at least the month and year, so forth. The options will only appear as they indicate yes or no to what information they do know and then you can make the last option the required field, so that they have to at least enter in the year.

Hello, I am using the ArcGIS Power BI geocoding tool to create points from a list of addresses and it works great. Is it possible to export the spatial information? I know you can export to a csv file, but is there an option to create an export with coordinates or as a point dataset? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Lisa D.

Hello, I want to create a map using ArcGIS for Power BI that would show more than one layer in the same map visual. Is that possible? I have water sample results data. I am using the addresses for the point locations. Ideally, I would like to be able to create a map that shows all result values that are not detected (ND) as a specific color and size circle. All results ranging from 0-5 as a different specific color and size circle. All results ranging from 5-10 as a different specific color and size circle, and all results greater than 10 as a specific color and size circle. If I try to load it all as one table (layer), I don't seem to get the options to be able to specify manual breaks in the values for the results field for size. I can choose the colors I want if I create a new field that creates classes for each of the result value groups I listed earlier, but the size classes, I cannot seem to be able set manually. If I try to add the data in as separate layers (tables) with filters set for each so to create the color groups that way, it symbolizes all of the layers the same. If I change the color and/or size for one of them, it changes the color and size for all of them as the same. Is there a way to be able to display data in this fashion to be able to display the data as I need? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Lisa D

I am referring to the hosted feature layers that get creates from Survey123 forms which are not stored in portal. I don't believe the document you sent includes that situation, correct?

Since Esri does not currently provide a data back-up option for hosted feature layers, there should be a way to easily export a hosted feature layer as a feature layer on a local ArcGIS web server. That way, the data can be backed-up in a sense. With this....there should be ways to maintain the original globalid values so that relates are not lost.

Hello, I am building a Survey123 app using the autocomplete search option in the appearance field. That works great, but I have some questions regarding how to set up calculations to work well with this set-up as well as how to potentially use an external csv file as the source of the autocomplete search. Ideally, I would like to be able to have a csv file with a list of addresses that would also include names, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. If the user has never used the form previously, I would like to have their address and other info added to the external csv once the data is submitted. Is this possible? On a different autocomplete search function, regarding the calculations, because the autocomplete search works with the select_one question type, the ability allow users to select more than one requires repeats. The issue there is that if I need to create a total cost for all of the selections made, I am struggling to get that to work. When I use a calculation function of adding all of the fields with values (there is a separate field for each analyte where the value is 0 unless that analyte is selected, then the appropriate fee is used), it only includes the fee that was selected last, it isn't cumulative. Is there a way to do that? If so, how do I set of the calculation functions to do that? The xlsform I am working on is attached below. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Lisa D.

Hello, Is it possible to set up a Survey123 form to have fields that are not visible to some, but visible to others. I am building a public facing Survey123 app to allow users to request water bottle sample kits. So, the users would enter in their info, what sample kit(s) they want and submit it. I then need to be able to have lab staff enter in information like the sample kit number, date the kit was sent out, etc. A related table might work, except that there needs to be a way for the lab staff to easily see what new form entries have come in. Ideally, I would like it all on the same table, but I am not sure if I can hide some fields from the public, but make them accessible to lab staff. I appreciate any help with this. Lisa D.

Hi Nick, I have a similar issue with the need to make a survey element conditionally required based on previous answers, but mine is with a geoshape question type. Basically, if a paper map or digital map exists, then I want it to be optional that they delineate the boundary. If, however, the source is from a written description, local knowledge, etc., then I want them to be required to draw the boundary. Having multiple geoshape question types in the same form I would think would be rather problematic. Do you have any ideas or suggestions on how I can accomplish this task with geoshape question types? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Lisa

Hello, I have created a Survey123 app that is working well. It does not contain spatial data as I don't need it to initially. (The users aren't GIS savvy and it would take them far longer to have to search for a point than to just enter in the known ID value for it). Basically, we get pdf files with information we need to enter into a database. So, the Survey123 app allows the user to enter in the needed information and then also attach the pdf file as part of the survey. I am now trying to relate the output of the Survey with existing spatial data (points) and create a web mapping application that will allow staff to view the pdf file attachment and I cannot figure out how to get that to work. The survey123 data is stored in our SDE and I have created a relationship class between a point feature class, the survey data SDE table, and the attachment data SDE table and then publish that to AGOL. I relationship works between the points and the survey responses, but I cannot get the attachment to open. It gives me the name of the attachment, but I am not sure if it is actually there. I have also tried creating a spatial view so that I can only show the points that have had the survey data completed for them and then relate that to the attachment SDE table and publish that to AGOL, but I have the same problem with the pdf file not opening. I am using Survey123 3.10, and I have both ArcGIS Online 10.7.1 as well as ArcGIS Pro 2.4, and I use AGOL. Any ideas of how I can make this work? I won't attach any files because I am not sure how much that would help. The survey123 table has a field for a WSSN number, which can be related to points with WSSN numbers across the state (there are thousands of them). The relationship class seems to work just fine, but I cannot get the pdf file to open. I have created similar Survey123 apps, but with spatial data (points) and I have no problem accessing the attachments from that. Is the difference in whether or not there is spatial data in the survey123 output dataset, whether the data lives in SDE versus AGOL cloud, both, or is there some other reason? I would really appreciate any ideas of how I can get this work. Thanks in advance, Lisa
