Nathan, Are you running a compatible configuration of software/hardware with Juniper Systems Archer & ArcPad 7.x? Your post doesn't mention what Juniper Systems Archer model (3 diff Archer models) or OS you are using and unsure which version of ArcPad 7.x you are using but I don't believe you have compatible version to use. http://downloads.esri.com/support/systemrequirements/ArcPad_70_SystemRequirements.pdf http://www.junipersys.com/Juniper-Systems-Rugged-Handheld-Computers/products/Archer-Field-PC/Specifications http://www.junipersys.com/Juniper-Systems-Rugged-Handheld-Computers/products/Archer-XF101-DGPS/Specifications http://www.junipersys.com/Juniper-Systems-Rugged-Handheld-Computers/products/ikeGPS/Specifications Denise

Victoria, Are you referring to the 2 GP tools included with Mobile Tools toolbox in ArcToolbox at ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 release with ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10.1.1? These are Create Mobile Cache and Synchronize Mobile Cache. Or are you meaning the mobile cache to shapefile tool samples on ArcGIS Gallery? MobileCacheTool 10.0 MobileCache2Shape 3.1 MobileCache2Shape 3.0 If the mobile cache to shapefile tools, its likely on Mobile Teams To Do list as they've published this tool for previous ArcGIS for Windows Mobile releases. Let me know if this is indeed what you are inquiring of, and I'll be happy to inform them of your request to have an updated tool for 10.1. Curious, are you running on 32-bit or 64-bit OS? Thanks, Denise

All, Esri Support confirmed ArcPad 10.0.4 download install file is valid by verifying checksums using instructions in knowledge base article #37976. ArcPad 10.0.4 install is NOT corrupt - you are running into some other issue, likely open Internet browser as suggested in previous post by Hannah. Denise

All, You might want to review the posts on related ArcGIS for Windows Mobile Forums as well as review Help docs for ArcPad on GPS receiver connectivity, protocol, communication settings as ArcPad software requires COM port to connect to GPS receiver's output & default GPS protocol is NMEA 0183 although other GPS protocols are supported. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcpad/10.0/help/#/GPS/00s10000001s000000/ http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcpad/10.0/help/#/Supported_GPS_protocols/00s100000017000000/ http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcpad/10.0/help/#/Connecting_your_GPS_receiver/00s10000002v000000/ Many of the newer Windows 8 OS Pro 32bit Tablets w/Desktop & RT windows are offered by tablet hardware vendors as at least 2 different model options: 1 w/internal GPS receiver w/Mobile Broadband Modem & Sensors & 2 w/Sensors but wo/internal GPS reciever or Mobile Broadband Modem Some Win8 OS tablets having only Sensors listed in Device Manager & no COM Ports appears to be main difference found when reviewing the Win8 OS tablets that can connect to ArcPad or ArcGIS for Windows Mobile software as those with COM Port can indeed utilize GPS functionality within our software application. Research is still on-going into the new Windows Sensors including GNSS Geolocation Sensor but doubtful this will be a quick fix for those tablet owners who purchased Win8 OS tablets wo/internal GPS receiver. Please continue to follow this forum or the ArcGIS for Windows Mobile for up-to-date information from Esri. Thank you, Denise

Wesley, My apologies, here is system requirements page for ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.0 but I 'm not sure that's what you are actually using since original post mentions 'Applications Solution is .NET + WPF' (available only w/ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10.1.1 release). Provide screenshot of installed Programs from Control Panel - specifically ArcGIS software. See Forums thread which mentions uninstalling & removing all dependencies of older version of ArcGIS that perhaps wasn't completely removed during uninstall procedure; then install ArcGIS Desktop 10.1; next install ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10.1.1 (download available on Customer Care Portal); followed by installing ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Windows Mobile 10.1.1. See system requirements page for ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10.1.1 for additional details. Denise

Wesley, Your post doesn't say which version of ArcGIS for Windows Mobile you've installed on Windows 7 64bit OS; please refer to system requirements for the version of ArcGIS for Windows Mobile installed as there is likely additional software requirements. ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10.1.1 release on Windows 7 32-bit/64-bit also requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed Please see past Help releases for those system requirements. Denise

Paul, This is perfect topic for ArcGIS Ideas portal under Mobile GIS products & includes ArcPad. 🙂 In the meantime, Extensions tab is used to display information about modules & extensions loaded by ArcPad. You can view information of ArcPad Extensions by navigating to ArcPad Options > Advanced Settings > Extensions > select an extension & click Properties button to display About dialog & view detailed information of ArcPad Extension. Few custom ArcPad Extensions include ArcPad StreetMap, ArcPad Extension for ArcGIS Server, ArcPad AXF Reader for FME, ArcPad Data Manager Extension for ArcGIS Desktop; some 3rd party ArcPad Extensions include Trimble's Extensions for ArcPad & for ArcGIS Desktop, LaserTech's LaserGIS for ArcPad, GeoArcPad ECW Extension for ArcPad, & GeoDrive for ArcPad from RIA Mobile GIS. ArcPad Team Blog is great resource for this information & will be transitioned to ArcGIS Resource Blogs > Mobile site in near future. Review ArcPad Developer Help for information on how custom extensions can add support to your ArcPad application. Hoping this is what you were looking for, Denise I am also working on some similar issues. Is there a central location somewhere that lists ALL of the (at least typical/standard) ArcPad extensions AND what their functions are? I started with the help topic Denise mentioned in this post, and began searching, but no luck yet. I'm not sure this will actually help my cause, but it would be good info to know nonetheless. Thanks Paul

Pieter, Who is your local & International Distributor? What type of data is your service based on - MXD, View, Table? Have you tried working with the Feature Service Web Editing Tutorial? Tutorial: Feature service web editing http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/...000005mm000000 sample data & workflow supports enterprise GDB, feature services & web editing data workflows Thanks, Denise I have contacted our local distributor and they have logged a call with the Esri International, but it is taking a very long time. My workflow is pretty straight forward, I share an mxd containing sde feature classes to argis server, and perform all the necessary steps to allow for mobile collection (globalid, version the db, add attachments and also allow for attachments in the mobile project centre). I then proceed to collect and edit several features and one or two photo attachments for each feature. I synchronize the updates to arcgis server successfully (no error messages) Then I proceed to check the updates in arcmap, and notice that all the attributes have been synchronizes successfully, but not the attachments. Weirdest thing is, that only in some cases the attachments does get posted to the server. If I can understand the variables in the process when the updates get posted, I may be able to narrow down on the problem. Have you any advice for me? Much appreciated
