Hi Aled, In addition to the resources already mentioned, here's a few more. These can be completed with an ArcMap Basic license and an ArcGIS organizational account (Publisher or Administrator). (If you don't have such an account, you can get one free by signing up for the Developer Program: Essentials plan at Pricing | ArcGIS for Developers .) Homeless in the Badlands | Learn ArcGIS Mapping the Public Garden | Learn ArcGIS Bridging the Breast Cancer Divide | Learn ArcGIS In addition, with your ArcGIS organizational account, you can access ~30 Free ArcMap training products available through Esri's My Academy. Good luck!

Web AppBuilder currently supports point clustering two ways: You can make a Web Map with a point layer, and configure clustering on the point layer. The Web Map can be used by Web AppBuilder. You can add the Info Summary widget, and use it to cluster a point layer.

Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS ("Web AppBuilder") is a web application designed to let you build powerful GIS apps without writing any code. Web AppBuilder also provides an extensible framework for developers to create custom widgets and themes. The jimu.js library is the core source code inside every GIS app made by Web AppBuilder. The core dijits and classes in jimu.js are documented at https://developers.arcgis.com/web-appbuilder under the API Reference and Guide tabs. We understand there is a lot to do in terms of documenting the extensible code in jimu.js and are working on a new system to enhance it.

Photo by Chad Kirchoff on Unsplash As mentioned in the Introduction to Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Developer Edition training seminar, Esri Training Services has begun producing short videos on specific Developer Edition topics, including some that require no programming experience. Today we published the second video in the series, which explores the purpose and relationships of the files and folders commonly found inside a WAB DE custom widget. You can use this link to find the videos in this series: www.esri.com/training/Bookmark/FKRAQTELZ If you have feedback on the video, or would like to suggest topics for future videos, please leave a comment! When new videos get added to this series, I'll announce them here.

Hi Sagar, The ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Java has a LocalServer class and subclasses to support offline mapping scenarios. Take a look at the Local Server Map Image Layer sample and other Local Server samples. Note that the map data needs to be in a Map Package (*.mpk) file in order to work with LocalServer; you can use one of the ArcGIS Desktop applications (ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro) to produce *.mpk files.

Hi Tony, To help answer your 2nd follow-up question, you can batch geocode a list of addresses using the Locator class and the World Geocoding Service. As a developer, you can leverage a free ArcGIS for Developers account, which includes enough credits to batch geocode about 1200 addresses in a given month. The ArcGIS for Developers account is intended to give you the ability to develop and test solutions that access premium Esri content and services; when you're ready to deploy, you can figure any expected credit consumption into the pricing model for your app.

Kudos to John and Andrew for the workarounds. A few follow-up notes: Appending the parameter directly to the QueryTask URL probably means that parameter is set for the life of the QueryTask. If you want to be able to set the parameter on a query-by-query basis, use John's workaround (esriRequset.setRequestPreCallback()). The workarounds given in this thread should also work for other Query properties, such as returnM and returnZ. The lack of these properties on Query is noted in NIM091578.

I'm trying to get the BasemapToggle widget to work with a custom Basemap. The widget needs one of the Map.basemap strings, so I'm feeding my custom Basemap to the Map, and then specifying a Map.basemap string in the widget. This kinda works, but the widget thumbnail and title don't change as expected. I get an Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'thumbnailUrl' of undefined, even if I specify the widget's basemaps property. Could this be a bug? Code is here: JS Bin - Collaborative JavaScript Debugging

I'm trying to get a sense of how many unique ArcGIS-based portals are out there on the Web, sharing data and/or functionality for app developers (and others) to consume (either free or for-fee). Any suggestions for ways to get a reasonable estimate would be appreciated!

I encountered a similar issue at 10.2.0: I had a MapView defined in XML like this: <com.esri.android.map.MapView android:id="@+id/map" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" mapoptions.MapType="Streets" mapoptions.ZoomLevel="3" mapoptions.center="39.774769, -96.064453" /> When I ran the app, the Streets basemap did not display, just a grid. On pan or zoom, the basemap appeared as expected. I was able to work around the issue by changing "fill_parent" to "match_parent" for both the MapView layout's width and height: <com.esri.android.map.MapView android:id="@+id/map" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" mapoptions.MapType="Streets" mapoptions.ZoomLevel="3" mapoptions.center="39.774769, -96.064453" />
