I am about to publish my project developed in CityEngine in ArcGIS online and I realize that I have two options: WebScene Viewer or CityEngine Viewer. I couldn't find many information about the good and bad points about each one. Web Scene is for projects exported from ArcScene, right? And CityEngine Viewer for files *.3ws shared from Cityengine, correct? Which one should I use? Is WebScene viewer has limitation of the size of the data? Any input is more than welcome. Thanks, Sheyla

Hello, Everyone! I am trying to export my cej to WebScene and I am having some problem. I don't have any raster, only shapefile/featureclass. Even so, my *.3ws is 178MB. After exporting, I tried to share in arcgis online. Actually I can see the the webscene in "My content" but it never load. The 30mb limit size is mandatory or recommended? I've tried to add all the file in the Arcglobe and publish it as a global service but the package rule is not working also and I don't know why. When I create the rule package at cityengine, I "analyze" and it is all ok. When I try to use the tool "Feature from CityEngine Rules", it gives me a error in the rule package. So I don't know how I can share my scene online. Any input is welcome! Thank you, Sheyla

Hello, Cheryl. I have talked with Matt about this trail rule. He told me that in order to the rule work, I need the *.mtl file and texture. Do you still have these files? The zip you sent me just have the *.cga and the *.obj. Matt is sending you a hello! Thank you, Sheyla

Cheryl Lau, Any idea of why I can't see the obj in my scene? The rule has no error and it applies fine to my train rail but it doesn't apply any texture.

Hello, Everyone. I am facing a hard time to align an OBJ to the terrain. I am importing a point feature dataset to Cityengine and align it to the terrain. And it is working. I can see the points. Later I am applying the rule Insert_obj.cga @Range(-360, 360) attr Rotation = 0 @File attr Model_File = "assets/yacht/Pershing_yacht.obj" @Range(0.1,10.1) attr Scale = 1 Shape --> s(0,0,0) center(xz) i(modelFileChecked) s('Scale,'Scale,'Scale) center(xz) r(scopeCenter,0,Rotation,0) modelFileChecked = case fileExists(Model_File): Model_File else: "builtin:cube" When I apply and generate the model, the yacht stays above the terrain and other layers. Does anyone have any idea why it is happening? Thank you all, Sheyla Santana Sending the screenshot too.

Hello. I need to merge about 400 shapefiles and i need to identify each one after the operation. I want to create a field in the original shapefiles and calculate with the original workspace of each one. Then, when i make the merge operation, the path of the input files can show me which file the geometry belongs. I'm trying to use parse path but it simply don't work. Any idea how can i make it? Thanks!

Hello, Matt. I need that every building of this type use basically the same parameters. They need to start within a front setback of 5.9 meters and extrude three meters. Then i need to extrude the next two floors (10 meters) without any setbacks. The remaining floors need back setback of 5 meters, a front setback of 2 meters and side setback of 1.5 meters. This information of how many floors that those buildings are going to have is defined using the my basic rule that considers setbacks, occupancy rate and coefficient of utilization. I have to put some discont areas (about 27-31% of the total area of the building). At this moment, i don't know how to do it... My basic rule is: attr Frontal = 6 attr Lateral = 3 attr TO = 0.4 attr CA = 3 attr GFHeight = 3 attr UFHeight = 3 @hidden attr parcelArea = 0 Lot --> Area(geometry.area) Area(area) --> set (parcelArea, geometry.area) report ("Area do Lote PD", parcelArea) Afast_F(area) Afast_F(area) --> setback(Frontal) { streetSide : NIL | remainder : Afast_L(area) } Afast_L(area) --> setback(Lateral) { noStreetSide : NIL | remainder : projecao(area) } projecao(area) --> case geometry.area > area * TO : Redimensiona(area, geometry.area) else : Sobe(area, geometry.area) Redimensiona(area, areaP) --> s('area*TO/areaP, 'area*TO/areaP, '1) center (xz) Sobe (area, geometry.area) Sobe (area, areaSC ) --> extrude(3*(area*CA/areaSC)) split (y) {GFHeight : Volume("GF") | ~1 : UpperFloor } UpperFloor --> split (y) { ~ UFHeight : Volume("UF") } * Volume (volumeType) --> case volumeType == "GF": color ("#990000") set (material.opacity, 0.5) Reporting else : color ("#990000") set (material.opacity, 0.5) Reporting Reporting --> report("Primeiro Andar PD", geometry.area(bottom)) report("Demais Andares PD", geometry.area(bottom) / parcelArea ) Did i make myself clear? Thanks again!! S.
