Nevermind..Found it...its "offset"...not setback. @Range(10,50) attr height = 0 @Range(0.2,1) attr Trans = 0.5 @StartRule Lot--> set(material.opacity, Trans) extrude(height) A A--> split(y){~2 : B}* B--> case (split.index <= 3) : color("#fff00b") else: offset(-7, inside)

This may be something simple I am missing, but I was wondering how I can set a building model back after x units of extrusion. here is my simple rule... @Range(10,50) attr height = 0 @Range(0.2,1) attr Trans = 0.5 @StartRule Lot--> set(material.opacity, Trans) extrude(height) A A--> split(y){~2 : B}* B--> color("#ffffff") For example, how do I bring the walls of the block 7 units inward on all sides after 20 units elevation?....(where it looks like a smaller volume building on top of a larger volume building) (See terrible drawing for example maybe) Thanks!

I am trying to build a Story Map Journal using a 3D scene, such as Mountains of Fire (http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=88bc1081e58f4a7bb60e9ddf39189701 ) I managed to get the Scene into the Story Journal and to get the Scene banner to disappear, however I cant seem to zoom to the location of the different pictures in the Journal Panel. Do I need to create a Web Scene for each picture/video location (about 35 pics/vids is what i have) and put the URL to each scene in with the panel sections?....or is their a way to zoom the map to each section of a single scene as the user scrolls? Or Is this functionality doable in the downloaded version of Story Map Journal (I do have the downloaded configurable version pointing to my app ID) Having 35 web scenes zoomed to 35 different locations seems a long-way to do this. Thanks! Really cool app idea.

Apparently the instructions in the "Toggle layer visibility | ArcGIS API for JavaScript." use a map service. However, I have loaded all my points onto a web map from a CSV file and my imagery seperately. The Story Map Configurable Template references this map by its ID (at the end of the URL). MyContent section has the following... 1. A web map containing both imagery and points 2.A feature layer of the points 3.A CSV file (from which the points were derived) Then I added the Developer Events section ...as well as the code to handle checkbox layer visibility from the "Toggle layer visibility" API sample... My question is....How can I target the imagery layer for the checkbox visibility if I only have an ArcGIS online webmap...and NOT a Map service? The sample only provides a place to put a URL to a Dynamic Map Service...not just a web map with some layers in it. Thanks again, and sorry to be so much trouble. I just feel like im very close to having my first real application done (without much code experience) and I hate for this layer visibility check box to be the only thing missing.

Ok , its starting to make a little bit of sense....but do I need to add the "require(["dojo/topic"], function(topic) {....code code code etc..." to the end of my code? Mine stops with "Core.init(new MainView());" My code looks like this.. require(["storymaps/core/Core", "storymaps/maptour/core/MainView", "storymaps/utils/Helper"], function(Core, MainView, Helper){ var urlParams = Helper.getUrlParams(); var isInBuilderMode = urlParams.edit != null || urlParams.fromScratch != null || urlParams.fromscratch != null || urlParams.fromGallery != null; if (isInBuilderMode) { require(["storymaps/builder/Builder", "storymaps/maptour/builder/BuilderView"], function(Builder, BuilderView) { Core.init(new MainView(), Builder); Builder.init(Core, new BuilderView()); }); } else Core.init(new MainView()); }); ###Should I put the above mentioned code here? } ); }); } </script> </body> </html>

I have downloaded the template "Storytelling Map Tour 2.2.6" and I was wondering how, and in which script, do I write a code to allow the user to check and uncheck layer visibility. The web map (sitting in My Content ArcGIS online) contains 2 layers. 1 of flood locations, and 1 of flood imagery. I want a single check box (on the header somewhere) to allow the user to remove the imagery from view if they wish to do so. I am VERY novice to JS and HTML, but I have managed to customize everything in the index.html code so far. Thanks!

How can I upload my 3D buildings and Bridges into the ArcGIS online Scene Viewer? (Such as in The Netherlands example in the scene builder?) I have them as multipatch, Collada, or .3ws...but I cant seem to add them as a layer in a scene. I currently use the CE Web Viewer, however I want to use the Scene Viewer because of its usefulness in the Story Map Journal, but I want to use my 3D objects in the scene.

Thanks! I think I have found the problem...my facade wizard has "(Beta)" next to it in the title tab. I think maybe thats why its not there. Even when I right click the image, the "Crop Image" option is gray (not selectable). Im going to look into updates.

My arcGIS administrator lists me at work as having "Advanced Concurrent Use" license. I have the ability to use the facade wizard (as well as KML support which comes with advanced license) .. just not the crop or windows tools. I have attached a picture of my interface with the wizard. Maybe its the version I have? or it needs to be activated somewhere im not aware of?

In the facade wizard video above, there is a tool in the Facada Wizard toolbar that lets the user crop the image before constructing the facade rule. I dont seem to have that tool. Is it an add-on? I have CE2013.1.

Ok! , Thanks! All of the suggestions worked properly if I take out the lines (polylines) and just add the multipatch building shells. I tried adding a smaller sub-set of the lines separately with the connect nodes and segments option. However they show up as extremely curved small lines. I want them to stay straight and tubular like they were when i constructed them for a line-of-site analysis. How would I achieve that for the lines? Also, how would you suggest getting the model to a 3D web scene? Is it better to create the models in CityEngine and then push them to Scene or Globe to make a 3D web scene or is it better to go directly from CityEngine to a web scene?

Ok..So I have a feature class of lines (with z values) and a feature class of multipatch buildings. When I drag and drop the FGDB in the Viewport, it gives me the option to select the lines and multipatch. However, the data does not show up in the scene even though it is listed in the "scene.cej" window with the terrain and street network datasets. How do i fix this? (I have everything in the same Coord. Sys. and everything shows up in ArcScene with no problem).

Thanks!...That worked great for converting my multipatches to COLLADA, however...in City Engine they are upside down (as if the roof of the building was drove into the dirt lol)...I was able to fix it by reversing the naturals in CityEngine , but im not sure how to fix it in the COLLADA file. Thanks for your help...im able to use these files at work now.

Thanks!..It works. I was able to export the footprints as COLLADA files. The only downfall is that the "interpolate polygon to multipatch " tool didn't keep the extrusion...only the footprint, but its a start. I can always extrude it in sketchup. Thanks!
