We are just now looking into Portal. I have high hopes for it, but we'll see . . .

You should probably contact support on this. I just tried both of my sites (one private, one public) and they both looked fine in the preview. Sorry.

I think I found a bug. When I create a feature layer search, and the data has an apostrophe in it, it will return NO records. If I use the same feature layer in a Query widget, I get results. Anyone else come across this?

So what you're saying is that this issue was identified back in 2012 and back 3 versions ago, so it won't be addressed anytime soon... Also, this is NOT an impression, our staff is actually getting the Administrator privileges!

We are allowing our GIS community of users the ability to publish their own map/feature services on our "test" server. We do not allow them access to server manager however. There have been occasions where I, as an administrator, needed to review the server logs to determine why a service did not process as I had intended. I want our publishers to be able to look at the server logs without my intervention and to be interrupted constantly to assist in debugging why a service did not publish as expected. Is there a table I can do queries against to get this information and then provide them with a report of errors? What tables are these errors maintained in?

Derek, we are now looking into whether or not Portal is needed in our organization. This function makes a good case for it! Thanks!

Is it possible to restrict connections to ArcGIS server with the "Publisher" role only? I don't want users to connect as Administrator.

According to the following page, users who have Publisher's role have access to all services and folders within the ArcGIS Server site. "When a role has its role type set to Administrator or Publisher, members of that role will have implicit permission to access all services hosted on an ArcGIS Server site. This implicit permission cannot be overridden by changing the permissions on a service or folder. " http://server.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/administer/windows/editing-permissions-in-manager.htm That means, Publishers can stop or delete any services hosted on the site. For example, if one organization is using ArcGIS 10.x for Server and wants to manage map services by departments, the OOTB ArcGIS Server does not have the capability to hide folders and services from publishers. We want to allow our users to publish and manage their "own" services, but not be allowed to manage any other ones. Is there any other method to achieve this?

Is there a tool or template where I can give departmental staff access to view the ArcGIS Server logs without giving them access to the manager and administrator access?

So there is no kind of warning that they are close to using the allotment? This might be OK as we plan on monitoring more closely now that the credit allotment is functional.

So what is the warning message that a user gets when they have reached the maximum number of credits that have been given/allotted to them? Do the Administrators get notification too? Is there a pre-warning like "you only have xxx credits left. Contact your administrator."? Thanks!

I thought I read/heard something about "shared" WebMap access somewhere? Rather than changing ownership of a WebMap, I want two people to be able to maintain it. Is this possible?
