A while back Russ pointed out to me that you can't use time definition queries in your map service if you want the data to go offline. Is that still true? I know it's possible in arcgis mobile. e.g. I want to only show the last 24 hours mapping on Collector. Our fire air observers need to be able have a relatively clear space for new mapping with fires changing over time. Or are we better off using scheduled tasks to move data to new tables?

I'm after the best way to schedule a task to download a copy of a hosted feature in arcpy. Gordon Summerling from ESRI Oz talked about downloading hosted services during OZRI 2014, but I can't seem to find in his presentation where he talked about how to do it.

Has anyone worked out how Collector is choosing the sort order for feature types? It's not alphabetical. It's not in the order I added the features symbology? I thought I saw in earlier posts it's going to be fixed. Soon?

No doesn't appear to be. But in case I'm doing something wrong, should the following url have all the replicas listed or do I use something like the second url? If you restarted a service would you lose the replica? I'll keep an eye out for when/if it happens again. servername.esri.com/arcgis/rest/services/layername/FeatureServer/replicas servername.esri.com/arcgis/rest/services/layername/FeatureServer/replicas/{556B267C-FF6F-4B9C-9C54-D3A05FFBB9A5}

We're finally getting into large user number testing/training and this one pops up. "Replica with GUID ({556B267C-FF6F-4B9C-9C54-D3A05FFBB9A5}) does not exists on the server." I had made an offline copy before the training occurred. About two days ago. Since then we've had 10 people hop onto the Collector map (online only) and draw heaps of features. When I went to sync the offline copy this morning it pops up with unknown error has occurred. Looked at the AGS logs and see the above. Deleted the local offline content on the iPad and it still wouldn't download - just another unknown error. I then hopped in online to the map looked around then got out and then it would sync successfully. Any ideas? Can your offline replica expire on the server?

90 gigabyte. 128GB iPad. The performance is surprisingly very good. It draws as fast as you pan.

I've found a few times when the users have deleted the 90GB tpk I've uploaded onto the iPads. Are we going to gain a way to protect them in a future version? We're about to roll out to a bunch of fire-fighters and they have a habit trying out everything...

Thanks for quick response. FYI everyone if you change your popup date format to dd/mm/yyyy that's newly available on AGOL instead of the mm/dd/yyyy you'll crash Collector. Thanks again.

No. Collector instantly exits (crashes?). I'm suspiscous it's missing tiles. But as I said above we do have a ~90GB export that does work and it has a large number of missing tiles. We have a big state and we only have high resolution imagery for what is a small proportion, so our imagery in most places is built down to 1:18K, and where there is imagery down to ~1K. I went and exported the entire tile cache to tpk down to 4K again and it's 119GB... an increase in size from the 90GB because we've obviously covered more of the state with high res imagery. It's unfortunate since the 128GB ipads real storage appears to be 115GB. I've tried to export AOIs of the state down to 4K and the tool is completely failing with scales where there are missing tiles (I think). I might start off some tile cache constructions in areas that will have no missing tiles.

Hi, So you've had success exporting areas of interest!? As I said above, I did a successful export of an entire extent to tpk and it does have missing tiles - large numbers of them. 90GB and working well. I tried the same proceedure yesterday, exporting down to 36K for the same tile cache (admittedly with new tiles as we updated the imagery) and all it's doing is crashing Collector. It was only about 9GB. Sideloaded into Collector and it appears after a restart. Go to download map and choose the 9GB tpk and I get to the Download button enabling - click it and Collector crashes. Tested with iPad2 and iPad mini and it's crashing both of them.

I'm trying to get as much of our internal tile cache onto Collector as possible. We have a 1.2+TB tile cache which is built down to 1:1K. BUT it's not built down to 1K everywhere. In some areas we only build down to 1:18K. I've had previous success using Export Tile Cache from our physical tile cache into a TPK and using in Collector (90GB tpk file). The reason it's only 90GB out of an original 1.2TB is the fact we're only building down 1K when there is high quality imagery. But it seems to be hit and miss. Sometimes when I make these exports all they do is crash Collector. Our tile caches are all Web Merc. I don't want to use the standard procedure described in the doco Go offline since we have tile caches already built and to run them again for the extent we're talking about is ludicrous. Are there some undocumented setting when using Export Tile Cache to TPK tool to make it work? e.g. it seems you can't just export an Area of Interest. You have to export the entire extent.

I'm finding I'm downloading a lot of basemaps for various maps. They can be reused, but it's not clear what area was downloaded. Some metadata or an ability to put a label next to them would make life easier?? btw nice to see our own basemap on 10.2.2 working all OK on download. ***What about the idea of stopping the user mistakenly deleting caches - user deleted 90GB base by mistake***

When you add a point it always zooms to your location. In a future version would it be possible to have a setting to turn that off. If you're mapping fire hotspots out an aircraft, having it zoom back to your aircraft location makes it hard.
