Robert, instead of using the data tab, like mentioned above (though, that might be easier), you can bring in your ArcGIS Online data into Pro without having to export and then re-publish. All you need to do is either add data from path from the add data button: Or, just go to your portal in your catalog pane and find the data that way. Then you can edit the data just as you would in pro with a file geodatabase feature class (and the data in AGOL will update as you edit it).

I fully agree and have always found this very tedious. My guess is that Esri does not want to have a static graphic for a potential dynamic idea. However, there is a toggle at the top of every help article for which version of Pro it is, so static images should be perfectly fine.

Thanks for the clarification. It looks like a limitation with using Portal based layers instead of ArcGIS Online. I have Portal 11.2 and I cannot make a line layer selectable in my dashboards. In ArcGIS Online, I can. I could not find documentation on this but I imagine it exists somewhere. You could try publishing the line layer in ArcGIS Online and bringing it in to a dashboard from there to make it selectable.

This isn't the best answer but I have not had the best success with downloading offline areas. One giant no-no that learned was that, if the basemap had a vector tile layer in it (like street map or imagery hybrid), it will not work at all and give no indication of it not working. So I guess one thing to rule out is, what kind of basemap is it trying to download an offline area for?

Which version of dashboard are you using (ArcGIS Online, Portal version xx.x)? In any case, when I configure a map with a selection tool in a dashboard, I do not necessarily see a tool for the simple select. I just click on the map as if I were seeing a popup. This selects my feature. Can you try that to see if that is what is going on with your selection tool? Can you provide more details on not seeing all map layers? What do you mean?

Luis, I am not seeing a way to be able to do this but that is the extent of my knowledge. How did you get the parameters from dashboard A to populate into dashboard B?

Thanks for the reply. So, it sounds like, out of the box, this cannot be handled. Would you use the ArcGIS API for JavaScript to create the dashboard application for the inner dashboard? One way I wish I could solve this problem would be to "group" a group of widgets within a dashboard group, but it seems that ArcGIS Dashboards just allow for one depth of groups, not multiple.

I kind of assume that this cannot happen but I thought I would ask. I have a dashboard with category selectors that filter my map and widgets. Simple stuff. However, I have an embedded dashboard (of the same data) into my dashboard that has widgets that I want filtered based on the same category selectors. Can I filter my embedded content with these category selectors using URL paramters? I assume I cannot since I cannot pass a specific URL from a category selector into something else, right? It would look kind of like this image: I'm using portal 11.2 but would consider using ArcGIS Online as well.

I agree with Dan about the coordinate systems. Whenever I get zero records like this, it's either a coordinate system issue or a Z-value issue. Can you export your polygon layer to the same coordinate system as the roads layer? That should hopefully solve the problem.

I just tried this same thing and I cannot search within my enterprise geodatabase. I'm using PostgreSQL. It would be nice to be able to use this feature within an enterprise gdb.

Have you tried clearing the display cache? I am not sure if that will help or not but go to the Project tab, then Options, and under the Display section, there is a button for Clear Cache Now
