They are not editable by design so and accurate record can be kept of who created or edited and and what date. For what you want to do you can simply make a NEW field to designate this or that person. Or you can disable editor tracking and then you can manually update those fields. Not what I would recommend if Editor tracking is important.

I think the best you can do is set a Custom Extent. It will still allow you to zoom out past a certain extent but you can get back to the custom extent. Maybe you can play with limiting visible extent for smaller features. I know if I have all my features turned and I scroll out to far performance gets down. So changing the visible scale for smaller features helps. In AGOL you can set a custom extent for your organization.

It gets down to training yourself to not do it. Slow down and take your time. I can see where it may happen if your using a small screen and something other than a mouse. I just realized I was referring to ArcCatalog. You can move in Pro and not get prompted to do so.

When using base maps we do not set the background color because one would be covering up the other. the basemap by default would be about the back ground of the frame because it is a layer inside the frame.

I may try something that. This is for company wall maps and we will generate new PDF's of them 2 times a year, or after major restructuring. then if any of our employees or clients need a wall map they can plot it out.

I believe you are correct in the relative path part. I believe you need absolute path. forward slants instead of back slants. here is an example of a hyperlink I have that opens a specific page in a specific pdf based on the file name field. 'file:///C:/MapBook/myfile.pdf#page=' + $feature.FILENAME I will not work without a proper directory structure. it will not know where .\docs is In my example you will see C:/Mapbook which is a specific folder location. I do not think it can work with relative path names You mention portable. A remote computer would not be able to find the C: drive on someone else's computer without using a UNC path. You many need to load the file into your Portal or AGOL and use https to get to it. We do that with our a number of our assets that will link direct to their Maximo data

Curious. to do it you need to be in the Layout View. If you want to change the background for the entire thing and not just your frame that contains the map. you can draw a neatline that takes up the entire page. Make the line no color but the background the color you want.

I would be fine writing it out in SQL in the definition query. But a drop down menu of selectable page names would be nice. So is your script something that has to be executed each time or does it remain intact?

There is a thick blue line under the selected column What I like about the way it is set up is that if you have a feature selected and a column the intersecting Cell stands out. I could see it as an option but would not like to see it as a default.

We have worked around it by setting up multiple virtual machines with older versions of ArcMap and Pro on them. Our core machines are all on the same version and we (5 of us) all upgrade when our Project Manager says it is ok to do so. We don't want someone getting ahead or our core apps. However, we often do work for partner cooperatives and often they are not up to current. The virtual machines work pretty slick. We have three of them. So we are able to work in 3 different versions when required. It is not always possible for a company to have all machines running the same version.

Page Query can be used to toggle Rows in a Feature Class IF an attribute in the Feature Class matches the name of the page in a Map Series. This is great for toggling a ROW, but is limiting and not very flexible. What I would like to see is a dynamic Page Query that can toggle the entire Feature Class when a page in the map series is active. Example, we produce wall maps of our territory. There are 6 different Service Areas based on shops. Metering, Telecom, Apparatus, etc. There are 9 different maps in the series. In most of them only 1 of the Service Ares needs to be visible. I would look for a dynamic page query something more like a definition query. MapSeriesPage = <name of page> or MapSeriesPage = <name of page 1> or <name of page 2> The second would allow a feature to be visible in 2 different pages. Page Query could also be used to then limit rows. If a way to do this in a definition query using SQL that would be great.

You can use Page Query to turn layers on and off if an attribute in the layer matches the map series page name. This is great but very limited and has no flexibility. What I would like to know is there a way to limit visibility of a layer using Definition Query where a layer is visible depending on the Map Series page in use?

Let back up here in your description of the problem. You joined a table to a database or you joined a table to a feature or table in a database. You exported something in the database or you exported (copied) the database? The attachments with the photos are related to a single Feature or Table using the Create Attachments dialog. That allows you to add photos (or other). The relationship is based on GlobalID (source) to Rel_GlobalID (destination). The table with the attachments will have an _ATTACH added to the name of the source table and the relationship will have that as well.

When you say you added the FGDB to Portal, you you mean you physically loaded the entire database or did you create a feature service that reads off your database?
