Those variables minval, minfld should of course be named maxval, maxfld for clarity.

The clue seems to be the datum reference in the AIR.prj. ArcGIS does not recognise this as a proper datum reference :

I don't know of an existing tool to do this. You may want to try a little python, like this (btw completely untested) import arcpy
pathtodata = r"c:/some/path/to/data/db.fgb/mydata"
flds = ["field1", "field2", "field3"]
with arcpy.da.SearchCursor(pathtodata, flds) as Cur:
for row in Cur:
minval = -9999999
minfld = None
for v in range(len(flds)):
if row[v] > minval:
minval = row[v]
minfld = flds[v]
print "Fld {} min {}".format(minfld, minval)

I have seen many projects in the past which contain thousands of shapefiles, which actually should be consolidated into one feature with an attribute indicating what is what.

Perhaps the real question here is "why would you do that?". Very strange.

By using the little envelope thingy at the side to directly navigate to the actual feature in its fgdb or where ever it is. Not just picking it from the layer list.

Melita, well yes, you can "georeference" the CAD, much like you would with an image. But, I think, first choice would be to get to the truth. Especially regarding the underlying datum. If that step proves to be impossible, then, yes, go ahead. I have Margaret Maher's book thank you. Also, done lots of work fiddling with RSO etc etc. Cheers, Neil

Unfortunately, you cannot go from an unknown to a known. You must find out more about the real coordinate system from those CAD files, then define your shapefiles appropriately. Then you can re-project, change the base datum etc etc.

That looks like a slightly non-standard definition of GCS_WGS_1984. That why Arc cannot find the appropriate transformation. You should redefine it using the properties in Catalog.

Did you build and run the model from within ArcMap? ie by adding the required layer from the TOC pulldown? Once the code is in python there is no way that the code knows where PC6 = "Postcodevlakken PC 6\\PC6" is actually on your local storage.

Are you trying to count the number of points within each polygon? A spatial join of the polygons to the points should give you a table which can then be summarised by the polygon id (whatever that might be). Spatial Join—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Summarizing data in a table—Help | ArcGIS Desktop
