Hi Ashan, There are a number of tools in ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro that can achieve this. See the documentation on the 'Delete Identical' tool (ArcMap, Pro) for more information. Other tools include 'Delete duplicate features' and 'Duplicate feature'. Hope this helps, Brett

Hi Jake, I just wanted to follow up on your 'Update all Surveys' suggestion. We are planning to include this functionality in our upcoming 3.9 release. It would be great if you could test it out via the Early Adopter Community (EAC) and let us know what you think. EAC gives you access to pre-release beta builds of Esri products for testing. Your feedback on this beta testing helps shape the final release. I'm not sure if you're already signed up to EAC, if not you'll just need to create an account, login and then add 'Survey123 for ArcGIS' under the 'Open Opportunities' section. Once you have access, this link will take you straight to the latest announcement explaining what is new. Further links to download the beta builds are included in this announcement. Regards, Brett

Hi Michelle, I've been testing out your Survey with the latest version of the Survey123 field app (v3.7.57) but I can't reproduce your issue. The signature appearance is working in both Connect and the field app on Windows, and the field app on iPad Pro (iOS 13.3) and iPad Air 2 (iOS 11.2). I've also tested an iPhone 11 as this is my only test device running iOS 13.2.3 (that is causing you issues) but still can't reproduce the problem. Can you please confirm what version of Survey123 you're running on both your iPad devices? Thanks, Brett

Hi Jamie, Just an update on this after some more investigation. We're actually using the ISO 8601 week number calculation in the 'week-number' appearance (which does allow for Week numbers 1-53) but have identified a bug in the function. The initial fix has worked for Dec 30-31 of 2019 but now it's possible to return Week 0 for some specific dates (see ISO week date - Wikipedia) which is also erroneous. We've identified an alternative week number function and will implement and test this in time for our next release. Interestingly, I've also discovered that the '%W' validation issue will only occur if it's used in a calculation based on a date field that also has a calculation - eg now() or today(). An alternative that does validate successfully would be to set the default date to eg now() or today(). Manually selecting a date, ie no default or calculation set on the date field also validates successfully. Cheers, Brett

Hi Jamie, Thanks for letting us know about this issue. It seems that the ‘%W’ (week number) qualifier is not working in Connect 3.5, 3.6 or 3.7 - it throws an error when converting the XLSForm. What version of Connect would you have created/published this survey with? Can you share the XLSForm (or a simplified version of it)? I can reproduce the issue you describe for the 30th and 31st of December 2019 when using the ‘week-number’ appearance on a date field. This is occurring because of the way the week of the year is calculated. The week number will advance on the first Monday* after Jan 1st (*depending on the first day of the week for your particular locale). This can lead to a situation where the last few days of December end up in Week 53 which is obviously not allowed for. Out of interest, how are you extracting the Quarter information from the Date field? The Doc (https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/xlsformformulas.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_DB5A29AC645F4AE585D7CEA9E6D5A36B) doesn’t list a qualifier for Quarter… Can you please submit this issue via Esri Support? I will raise the internal issue so they can be linked up and the impact of the issue can be assessed and prioritised accordingly. Thanks, Brett

Hi Tahir, Editing of attachments (photos) are not supported via the Inbox. This means if you open an existing survey via the Inbox, and have an image question in the parent layer, you will not be able to add a new photo. You can however put your image questions inside a repeat, and via that method you can add new photos to an existing parent record, by adding new repeat records with attachments. This functionality has also been requested by other users. I encourage you to submit an enhancement request via Esri Support. The support team will assign an official enhancement number for your records and attach it to the previous request. This helps us assess demand for the enhancement and prioritize it accordingly. Hi JP, Can you please share your SVG file for me to investigate further? I haven't actually tested multiline SVG text with the image-map appearance. It seems your font has not been embedded either, so I will try to remedy that too. Brett

Hi Yulia, Survey123 does not yet support location 'streaming'. You currently need to manually capture GPS locations as you move in the field. This is something we are interested in implementing in a future release. I encourage you to submit an enhancement request via https://support.esri.com. Your request can then be attached to the previous request for this functionality. This helps us assess demand for the enhancement and prioritize it accordingly. Brett

Hi Logan, You can now use a web map (configured to include whatever layers you like) as the basemap for your geopoint questions in Survey123. You need to turn on 'Standard (Beta) Map types' in the settings of both Connect and the app. Then go into the Settings → Linked Content for your survey in Connect to configure what content you'd like to link to your survey. By default, a new web map will be created when publishing from Connect and this will be linked to your survey, but you can add others. From here it's just a matter of changing the basemap for your geopoint question in the field app so you can see previously collected points on the map. As the Standard Map Type is still in beta, you can find more detailed information in the Early Adopter Community. It is also referred to in the Survey123 Documentation for preparing and using offline basemaps and in the Quick reference. Brett

Hi Chris, The short answer is that the Spike accuracy can be improved with these external GNSS receivers on Android but not by using Survey123's direct connection. You will need to install a Bluetooth connector app such as Bluetooth GPS, and then select it as the mock location app in the Developer settings of the device. This allows your device to use the GNSS positions as if they are coming from the device internal GPS, in turn allowing all apps to utilise them. Spike is not currently able to connect directly to external GNSS receivers, and even if it could, most receivers currently don't support simultaneous connections to multiple apps, which would be needed here. We are looking into a possible solution that will allow Survey123 to send the GNSS position data (and some metadata) to the Spike app. Brett

Hi Kyle, I've been able to reproduce this issue. The .iteminfo file (which accompanies the downloaded survey) does not contain the Organisation ID when the survey is downloaded by a user who isn't the survey owner via the shared link. This OrgID is needed to enable the JS function to execute. Since custom pulldata JS functions are still beta functionality, I encourage you to submit an enhancement request via Esri Support. You will get an enhancement number for your records and similar requests from other customers can then be attached. This helps us assess demand for the enhancement and prioritize it accordingly. Best regards, Brett

Hi Jennifer, To answer your title question for this post, “can I create a group in a survey I have published” – yes! Just add a group and drag your existing questions into this new group. This new group won’t inherit any rules you have already set up from the questions, so you may need to update your rules to reference the new group. Would you like to hide all of the survey questions (excluding the last additional comments question) until the user confirms that they have a son in the first year of secondary school (Q4)? If so, you will need to set a rule on Q4 that defines what survey questions become relevant/visible once the user selects ‘yes’ to Q4, for example: If Show yes Q 5. Has your child received other vaccines before? yes Q 7. Vaccines are important for my child's health. yes Q 8. My Child being vaccinated is important for the health of the community. yes Q 9. Information I receive from the HSE on vaccine programs is reliable. etc etc … You need to list all the questions here that you want to be initially visible on confirmation that the user has a son in first year secondary school. Remember, you can continue to set rules to make more questions relevant based on answers to other questions. For example, you may want to set rules on Q5 similar to: If Show Yes Q 6. You answered YES to Q5 No Q 6. You answered NO to Q5 While it’s definitely possible to implement the logic you need using rules in the Survey123 web designer, it is limited to Single Choice, Dropdown, Likert and Rating questions. These limitations don’t exist when using the ‘relevant’ expressions in Survey123 Connect (the desktop app) to create your survey. You may also find it easier to set up more complex logic using Survey123 Connect, I know I do. Here is a blog post and short tutorial video on using relevant expressions in your survey. Hope this helps, Brett

Hello Jürgen, As of 3.6, you can now manually control the height of map questions, text questions using the multiline appearance, and image questions using the signature appearance. While this will not make your geopoint question automatically fill the grid cell, you can at least set the map to a preferred height value. This is achieved by using a height parameter in the body::esri:style column. See the documentation for more info. Brett

Hi George, The problem you’re experiencing is due to the relative width (‘w’) parameter of non-relevant questions. You are using a ‘select_one or other’ question on line 107 of your XLSForm. If ‘Other’ is selected from the ‘Rated Normal Voltage’ an additional control becomes visible so that the user can ‘Specify other’. This is effectively adding a placeholder question with a relative width of ‘w1’ that only becomes relevant (and visible) if the answer to the previous question is ‘Other’. As a result, the ‘Switchgear Fuse Rating’ question can no longer fit on the row and is placed on the next row, so the ‘Rated Normal Current’ question expands to occupy the remainder of the row (ie ‘w3’). This additional ‘w1’ control doesn’t fit in with the remainder of the survey’s w2 and w4 questions so things get shuffled around in an undesired manner. You will also see this behaviour if you have non-relevant questions with relative widths that don’t allow the following question to fit on the row. My suggestion is to define the group as 'w2' and assign 'w1' to those questions you want to occupy half of the row. This way the additional ‘w1’ Other question fits evenly into the survey. If it is visible, the remaining questions get pushed by an amount that allows them to fill the rows nicely. Hope this helps, Brett
