@DerekMStrout - We were able to work out a secure way for these redirects to work for public items even when anonymous access is disabled. This update was deployed last night, so your admin can update your org settings to disable anonymous access without affecting the redirects to replacement items, if desired. cc: @StephanieW

@kapalczynski - You can hide the cover in the Story settings (in the ... menu in the builder header). But if you are not interested in a scrolling experience, the best replacement for you may be the portfolio Instant App as it is the most similar to the classic Series template.

Thank you for the additional information. We are aware of the issue where the legend does not stay open and plan to address that soon in an upcoming release. We'll look into the other issue you mentioned and let you know when we have an update.

@kapalczynski - Depending on the purpose and content in the story, there are a few options for remaking a classic Series story. Make a portfolio app with ArcGIS Instant Apps. Make a story with ArcGIS StoryMaps and use the sidecar block. If you include a heading at the beginning of each slide and enable story navigation that will simulate the look of the tabbed layout in your screenshot. Other options include creating a web experience with ArcGIS Experience Builder, a collection with ArcGIS StoryMaps, or an ArcGIS Hub site.

Thanks for sharing this feedback. This is something we are looking into. If you would like to see this implemented in ArcGIS StoryMaps, please vote for this idea and add any additional information about how it would be useful or valuable to you. Update: This workaround does not work. Your organization must have anonymous access enabled, or access the retired app via the anonymous www.arcgis.com URL, to prevent the sign in prompt mentioned in this thread. If your organization does not have anonymous access enabled, you can edit the URL property of the retired item (on the Settings tab of its item details page) to replace your organization-specific link with the generic www.arcgis.com version. For example, change https://epa.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid=abcdefg123456 to https://www.arcgis.com/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid=abcdefg123456

@BeccaBoyd - I took a look at the story link you provided and found some PDF links for testing. The Google Drive PDF viewer (this is what you see when you open the PDF in a new browser tab) does not allow embedding, but you can modify the URL to allow embedding. Also the .gov URL does also not allow embedding (I tested this by trying to use that URL to embed the PDF in a separate test page and it did not work). Perhaps there is a Google Drive URL for those documents that can also be used? See the URLs below. I hope this info will help you find the URLs you'll need to embed the PDFs. Does not allow embedding: spokanecounty.gov/DocumentCenter/View/65266/Spokane-County-HMP-Vol1?bidId= Does not allow embedding (standard Google Drive PDF viewer URL): https://drive.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=https://www.spokanecounty.org/DocumentCenter/View/34414/Hazard-Mitigation-Plan-Update-Volume-1 Does allow embedding (modified GD PDF viewer URL): ✅ https://drive.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=https%3A//www.spokanecounty.org/DocumentCenter/View/34414/Hazard-Mitigation-Plan-Update-Volume-1&embedded=true

@MeleKoneya -- @JamesPoeschel is correct, there is a technical limitation preventing heading links from working as you expect from within web map pop-ups. However, This capability does work from within express map pop-ups. I'm not sure if that would be an option for you. Here is a blog about this and an example story where you can see it working: Escaping the Beltway Update: I thought of something we could try to make this work from web map pop-ups, and it does make the link work as you expect. You can use HTML to format the hyperlink in your feature layer data field to force the link to jump to the heading in the story without reloading the page or opening a new tab. You can just use the target="_self" attribute when formatting the anchor tag for the link, like this... This is pop-up text and it has a link to a heading in this story <a href="https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/abcdefg123456#ref-n-8sRcdy" target="_self">here</a> Also, depending on your needs, you also could look at using a collection with a cover map. In that case, you'd create individual stories for each "section," group them within a collection, and enable the map in the design panel in the collection builder. Here are some examples: Our favorite stories of 2023, The many faces of Superfund sites
