@LindsayMcClintock1 -- Hmm, that is odd. Can you publish your briefing and share it with everyone and post the link here so we can take a look? If you are unable to do that, please contact Esri Support and they will be able to help you troubleshoot this.

@AurelieShapiro - The video also autoplays for me (and looks fantastic!). If you see the control bar across the bottom of the video, that's a sign that you have your OS set to prefer reduced motion. If you turn that off, you should see the video autoplay. Windows (may differ by version): Go to Settings > Accessibility > Visual Effects, and toggle the "Animation Effects" option. Mac: Customize onscreen motion on Mac - Apple Support

@AmandaBeck - It seems that those low-contrast warnings are being triggered by the text of the non-active tour places, which appears in a faded style. There are no warnings on the text of the place in focus. You can see the text of the previous place fades out as you scroll away from it. All the text on the page is checked by the automated tools, so it appears to be flagging this text that is not part of the focused content.

Hi @DanielBurmester -- There is currently not a way for you to set the initial extent that shows when a map tour first comes into view. The map will always show the extent of all points in the tour. What you currently have is a special case -- when there is only one point in the tour, there's no way for the builder to determine the initial extent (the minimum bounding box around a single point is a polygon of zero area). If you add another location, you'll see the initial extent update to a more appropriate scale. If you're interested in having a way to manually set the initial extent/zoom level, there is an idea here that you can vote for to show your support for this enhancement.

Hi @SaraJL - This is expected. The intent of that button is to provide an obvious place for readers to click when they first land on the collection. After they view one or more items and come back to the overview page, the button is hidden because they are no longer "getting started" -- they have already started viewing the collection. The button is hidden to clean up the overview page to focus on the content. Have you heard from readers about this causing some confusion? If you do not want that button to appear at all, you can completely get rid of it in Collection settings by checking "Hide overview page elements."

@bkaplan1 Thanks for the additional information. The alignment is symmetrical on both sides with respect to how much the media extends outside the edges of the centered paragraph/media blocks. This is the current design for floated media blocks and there is no way to modify it at this time. As you noted, if one section is a narrow list this may cause the page to look a bit unbalanced. We are thinking about other ways for you to be able to add text and media side-by-side (similar to how you can already add multiple charts or infographics side by side). I did a quick search and didn't see an idea for this. Since the idea in this thread is already implemented, I would recommend that you add a new thread on the ideas board to share details about your idea and how it would bring value to your storytelling so others can vote for it.

@bkaplan1 -- Thanks for posting your feedback about floating media positioning. I'm sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. Could you please share another screenshot that's annotated to show which alignments you are referring to? Which one is like you expect and which is the one that is not as you expect?

From the screenshot you provided, it appears you were using the classic map series app to bundle a set of apps and dashboards so they can be easily accessed and shared together. The best app to use to remake this sort of app to is the Portfolio instant app. It provides a similar experience with tabs across the top, but also has other layouts to choose from. You could also look at building a web experience with ArcGIS Experience Builder. Here's some more information about Portfolio. What’s new in ArcGIS Instant Apps (June 2021): Introducing Portfolio Display a collection of content with Portfolio And here's some information about the best ways to remake your classic stories: Moving to ArcGIS StoryMaps

@JonathanMcD - Thanks for sharing this idea, and we share your passion for data-driven storytelling! We are definitely looking into providing some of the capabilities you mentioned, but in the meantime there are already lots of ways to incorporate live data into ArcGIS StoryMaps. Some are by embedding apps, such as dashboards, the chart viewer instant app, etc, but there are others. Check out this article for more information: Including charts in ArcGIS StoryMaps

@BeccaBoyd - I'm sorry that this is giving you trouble. Unfortunately, there are technical/security requirements that can be confusing or frustrating when trying to embed web content in other websites. That existing PDF is shown in the story because it is being loaded using the Google Drive PDF viewer URL; it is not being directly embedded from the .org website. The URL reported in Embed options > Properties is not the full URL that is being used to view the content. It is the URL of the original PDF file extracted from the Google Drive URL parameter. Although I can't tell for sure, it appears that the Google Drive URL is what was used to originally add this to the story. Please note that embedding the PDF using the Google URL that I mentioned above does still work. It sometimes takes a very long time (I've seen 30+ seconds) for the PDF to initially appear in the story, but we have verified that it does work. I am not familiar with this viewer, so can't comment on how it works, why it might be slow, or whether permission/licensing is required to use it. I believe the fact that one of the PDFs is working like you expect has led you to believe that the PDFs on the .org site meets the security requirements, but they do not. The .org website does not have the proper security headers to enable it to be directly embedded. Here is the pertinent part of the FAQ I mentioned above that describes the security requirements: And here is the header from one of the PDFs on the .org website showing "frame-ancestors" that does not include *.arcgis.com or some variation of it. The web admin would need to make changes on the website to modify the CSP (content security policy) to allow the PDF files to be directly embedded on other any other website or explicitly allow embedding on the ArcGIS Online domain (storymaps.arcgis.com, or *.arcgis.com). {

@BenParker - We were able to work out a secure way for these redirects to work for public items even when anonymous access is disabled. This update was deployed last night, so your admin can update your org settings to disable anonymous access without affecting the redirects to replacement items, if desired. This information was also posted on the other thread you mentioned above. Solved: Re: Getting org sign-in prompt during redirect fro... - Esri Community
