Scripting and modeling is one of the key components in the spatial data science framework and is a core capability to teach in data science-related courses. ArcGIS Notebooks allow you to work with Python code and spatial data within the ArcGIS platform. They include features such as built-in Jupyter Notebooks, the ArcGIS API for Python and ArcPy libraries, and machine learning capabilities, that, when combined, make them a powerful tool for performing and teaching spatial data science. Watch the webinar recording Teaching Spatial Data Science with ArcGIS Notebooks that took place on May 4th at 10 AM (PT) to: Learn how to use ArcGIS Notebooks as tools for teaching Python scripting and managing your course contents Learn best practices for performing spatial data science workflows within ArcGIS Notebooks Get resources to start using ArcGIS Notebooks for your teaching. Webinar speakers you'll hear from: Song Gao - Associate Professor, Department of Geography, University of Wisconsin-Madison Ravi Narayanan - Group Product Engineering Lead, Esri Lingtao Xie - Product Engineer II, Esri Nicholas Giner - Product Manager, Esri Canserina Kurnia - Senior Solution Engineer - Education, Esri Watch the recording >> Download Giner's Presentation >> Download Gao's Presentation >>

WorkingGroups@usgif.org Next Meeting: April 11, 2023 | 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm ET | VIRTUAL MEETING Recurring Meetings: Second Tuesday of every other month A paradigm shift is occurring in the satellite industry. Small satellites are maturing to offer agility, affordability, resiliency and high-resolution imagery. Simultaneously, national security leaders are examining the potential threats posed by adversaries to our legacy space-based assets. Formerly the Small Satellite Working Group, the Commercial GEOINT Working Group (CGWG) educates and informs the global GEOINT Community on the rapidly evolving geospatial data and imagery capabilities in the commercial marketplace. The working groups seeks to collaborate and coordinate to enable Industry, Academia, and Government to better leverage these commercially available resources by developing better understanding of data available and the formats, standards, and use cases. Additionally, the group seeks to promote the efficient and affordable use of these data sources that optimize business models for producers and consumer of commercial GEOINT. Get event details >>
