Michael Miller I have been using Esri Javascript API for about 1.5 years now. I found leaflet about a month ago. I do like leaflet but it is not as robust as Esri API. Esri has more support and a larger community that can help you with API questions. Esri API can do a lot more and has more samples. That being said I do like leaflet for simpler applications.

Larry Stout has made a print widget that might do what you are talking about. It can be found here:Print Plus Widget Version 1.1.2 April 11, 2015

I want a user to know where they clicked last on a map. I am looking for a way to add a point symbol and remove the old one when a map is clicked. I am using this: Add graphics to a map | ArcGIS API for JavaScript sample. I can add a point but I have to click on the add point button in the tool bar. I am thinking Like this: SoilWeb: An Online Soil Survey Browser | California Soil Resource Lab but with Esri API not google. Thank you

Robert, Thank you for the quick reply! I found the "setSelectionSymbol" you are talking about. When I add a color it changes the color of both polygons(soils) not the selected one. // selection symbol used to draw the selected census block points within the buffer polygon var symbol3 = new SimpleFillSymbol(SimpleFillSymbol.STYLE_SOLID, new SimpleLineSymbol(SimpleLineSymbol.STYLE_DASHDOT, new Color([247, 34, 101]), 2), new Color([247, 34, 101, 0.25])); censusPoints.setSelectionSymbol(symbol3); I am looking for the selected one (cyan border) to change fill color when selected.

So I am using polygons not points. Some polygons (soils) overlap some of the boundaries(taxlots). For the life of me I cannot figure out how to change the color to indicate what polygon is selected(cyan outline). It is confusing because there are so many features being selected. The red taxlot is a boundary. Then two different features (soils) overlap that polygon are selected, indicated by a red dash. When I select either polygon a cyan outline appears. This works when the map is zoomed out but when it is zoomed in it is impossible to tell what one is selected. How do i change the color of the soils layer to indicate which one is selected? Thank you

I was wondering if there is a way to have the selected census block highlighted as well? It would be nice to know the boundary is for the block. Is there a reason why when a geocoder is added it will not zoom to location? Thank you!

I have another instance where a filter widget would be nice. Maybe a definition query widget? I need to filter by floor number. I have a building with multiple floors. Each floor has the interior walls and such drawn. I cannot display all at the same time because it would be too confusing. Any suggestions on where to start to create a widget or could I modify an existing one to fit my needs?

I believe the best way to exclude a layer is in the Arcgis online map. What ever legend is used in that map will display in the legend widget.

I am thinking like this Crime Mapper or like the ability of Apply filters or Filtering Your Data | SSP Innovations . Where you can select a layer and more or less definition query results based on some basic rules. The background could be use <Field_name> <Operator> <Value, Field or Unique>. The filter needs to be easy enough for anyone to use. Basically select what you want to see in as drop down options. I am looking for a way to display, for example, only a type of crime, a day of the week and the year. My goal will to have the crime mapper fell to it. Where I can filter a result and have the heat map change based on what I filter out of the map. If this is not enough detail I can try to explain it better. Thank you!

Has anyone started a filter widget? I am in need to filter attributes such as: time, date, and event. I need to filter all these at the same time. Query and search do not quite work for what I need. Thank you, Rickey
