I have what I hope is a very basic question which someone can easily answer. In ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or even IDLE I would like to utilize the ArcPy Class - Geometry - Polyline method to segment a line based on a percentage of the overall line length. If possible I would like to trim a line by 15% of it's total length from the start and end point. In the end it's one line that is 30% shorter than the original line and the remainder is the 'middle' 70%. How do you write this in the Python window such that it is formatted correctly? I am not a developer so I really need the simplest explanation. To no avail I've been trying to locate an existing tool or model that achieves this specific task. Any help is appreciated. Has anyone experienced the GPS location of mobile workers being represented as the IP address of the VPN server when a mobile workers is connected to Wifi? We are seeing field worker locations jump between remote field areas then into major cities (miles away). We are just starting to investigate it but my hunch is it is related to the Wifi they pick up at field sites. Anyone come across this and identified a solution, perhaps a setting in Workforce or on the mobile device needs to be changed?  ... View more

Any suggestion on the workflow for the following goal I am trying to achieve. The goal is to Field Enrich a polygon (also doubles as a GeoFence) with the last vehicle which entered/exited the polygon. I'm currently GeoTagging the vehicle with the polygon it enters thereby adding the polygon name (unique ID) and time stamp of occurrence. I'm outputting this new feature using the Add a Feature to an ArcGIS Spatiotemporal Big Data Store (SBDS) and effectively cataloging the history of vehicles entering and exiting the polygons. What I would like to do is create another GeoEvent Service which Field Enriches the polygon with the last vehicle that entered/exited but I'm running into a road block. The join (Field Enrich) between the polygon and vehicle SBDS is one to many and it will not return the most recent vehicle. Upon seeing this I changed my approach and added a second output to a SBDS which Updated a Feature in an ArcGIS SBDS (instead of Add a Feature . . . SBDS). This workflow is closer because now my join (Field Enrich) between the polygon and the GeoTagged vehicle is one to one but I have one problem. I can only have one vehicle GeoTagged with one polygon at a time. When a vehicle leaves polygon 1 and enters polygon 2 it only retains the attributes of the polygon 2 visit. It works well for wanting to identify the most recent polygon a particular vehicle visited but not for my goal of the last vehicle which entered/exited the polygon. I am looking for a suggestion on how to handle html content within a GeoRSS feed which is being consumed in GeoEvent Manager and written to a feature service. I am working with GeoEvent Manager 10.3.1, data is writing to SDE in SQL via a hosted feature service with feature access enabled. I'm using "Receive RSS" as my inbound connector, field mapper within the GeoEvent Service to redirect the fields and "Update a Feature" as the output connector. Everything works fine but the Output Connector will not write to my feature service if I add any of the fields which contain html. I really would like the content of the fields with html. I'm okay with reformatting those fields if necessary, just looking for ideas on how to retain that content if anyone has already tackled this issue.  ... View more
