I have a similar issue but what i wish to do is select records where date is greater than or equal to one specific date . When I build a query the query the column tool converts the date to yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss e.g.Select OPDATE >= date '2007-03-25 00:00:00' the thing is it drops a bunch of records that it should pick up greater than this date. I wonder if it has anything to do with American vs European date formats or how the record was keyed into the database. As all dates normally look like 25/03/2007 when viewed in the table i.e. dd/mm/yyyy as per: So how do I ensure I get the correct records without missing any ,if you can imagine I have over 15000 records spanning 13 years I don't want to write a query for each and every potential date value). eg OPDATE IN (date '2007-03-25 00:00:00' ,date '2007-03-26 00:00:00' ,date '2007-03-2700:00:00' ,date '2007-03-28 00:00:00' ,date '2007-03-29 00:00:00' .....) ( which equates to 4749 potential date results or 365.25 days a year for 13 years )

Dissolve is another method to generate one large polygon if you just want the features It needs one common attribute to ensure a single polygon is created and IF they are all touching one another, otherwise you will end up with a multipart polygon. Alternatively Aggregate Polygons is another Tool which does a nice job from a cartographic sense.

This has a slight flaw in the design in that every point needs to be in a separate repeat section so that it exists in separate tables if not when publishing the result you end up with this warning... but then as separate points it is very clumsy it would be great to capture the geopoints all within the single map view and have them recognised as multiple location values of one feature in one location map window.. I altered the format a bit from your original as I was not getting any results on first try. too.

I would like to have a customisable map so I can show status of various features collected in the field, from both the collection in a Geopoint location map and in the Inbox/sent items map views, this would be nice to toggle the display of existing features collected in the GeoPint collection view. but more specifically even if I could alter the inbox and draft or sent items maps to use labels and symbols of my choosing. Currently I am limited to have a generic feature symbol and label that is meaningless to the end user as per It would be nice to display the symbol as one of the attributes of the data, and or the label to also be a captured property of the point currently being or originally added. Something like this would be awesome:

Thanks, sounds so easy I just wondered why this survey was different than the others and I suppose that is why AGOL and Survey123 Website co-exist. (and why S123 was not fully embedded within AGOL) It does feel unnerving to delete a file but as you say it is a view to the data. I guess this doesn't effect the field app in any way nor previous OR FUTURE data captured ?

I have one survey that if logged in as the creator (take that anyway you like) I can see But when you sign in as any other contributor or anyone whom has access all they see is this I have gone through all the permissions via Survey 123 Collaboration and ArcGIS and I have no luck, and yet I have created other surveys with the same permissions that work fine and are fully viewable from the website admin toolset. The only thing that I can think of is the this is not the first time that I created "Work Program" Survey and somehow Survey123 has got stuck and picking up an old copy of one without any data in it. I do see a feature layer (hosted) that has no data in it but I am hesitant to delete it in case it breaks the rest of the system I have renamed it to "OldWork Program" which made no difference.as per So as you see I have tried a few ways to get to the admin but realistically I would prefer the Survey123 default website for admin. I have even removed permissions entirely on the empty feature layer, and it still wont work

Thanks Larry Will Collector allow you to have these photos in an offline sense (in the bush so to speak) without internet connectivity? Tall Aks I know but I have to ask. Regards Mat Boonen pp Hikurangi Forest

We have a situation in where we wish to use Survey 123 from a multiple field user perspective BUT with only some of the users with merely read only functionality. i.e. these other users never edit the records only read them. whilst other recorder staff and contractors have full capture and revisit functionality. The Limiting factor is that these field users work in an environment that does not have internet connectivity (I know doesn't sound right) but trust me in the back of beyond Cell Phones/ Ipads etc are next to useless. Except for capturing and displaying Survey 123 data in an offline sense. So the work flow would be one person captures remedial works that has to occur with a bunch of notes about what has to be done and even a photo or two, plus of course the location map. These are Uploaded to ArcGIS Online when back into internet coverage, These are then available to other readonly etc users to download via their inbox while at home at night in their internet laden palace or place of gathering. They suck these data down and then can visit the sites the next day using the map and notes to perform the remedial actions as captured. I don't want them to edit the data, although a check box of a remedial task at that location has been completed would be nice, along with a timestamp and who, although not strictly necessary. I can get the user to download the data fine but they have as much rights as the person capturing the points in the first place. Remember this is the day before's captured data, in an offline sense. I tried the workflow whereby I made the users part of a readonly group and also tried making a role for these readonly users. But there is either an all or nothing access limitation from what I can make out in Survey123. I also thought about using a web app, but again offline mode makes it stumble about how to get the data to the user. These people are not overly internet savy, they just want the info. All devices have offline tile packs of maps to navigate with. So what is the trick to make this happen seamlessly, easily and quickly. (2-3 button push easily) I thought about two apps (Survey123 forms pointing to the same data) one readonly the other full access, but how do I make two forms and not kill the survey123 publishing tool. and how do I point them to the same dataset? Any other options people can think of. BTW, I built a QC tool that requires a "relevant" question answered with specific verbally shared text so there is another layer of supervisory QC editing of the records that is not visible to the main collector. (It almost works like a password for specific access to additional columns in the surveys...) See attached Survey

Renaming runtime.geodatabase, currently this is not possible . I am running a product called Geomaster Mobile on both Android and Apple devices, This utilises a Geodatabase runtime Database. Developed by Integral in Rotorua New Zealand. As my data natively resides on a SDE server under aSQL Server, I have an issue whereby if I try to split data from many feature datasets into separate databases, currently it names these the same in my case xyzcore.geodatase . I was hoping there was a way to store the data in separate runtime geodatabases and name them slightly differently and still house them inside a single folder structure. I see how ESRI do it by creating a folder sub-structure for each dataset. But this I think is not so transparent in Apple Iphone Ipad devices, it may work for Android. The net effect is the application doesn’t know where to look for the data if it resides in sub-directories. I was hoping there was a way I can choose independent names for the xyzcore.geodatabases and in the same folder on the device. Eg As all these feature classes reside inside xyzcore. So make a mxd with only a few data featureclasses named forest and stand AAA , BBB, CCC out of xyzcore and push forest and stand to AAA.geodatabse as one runtime geodatabase, likewise road and hydrography then sit inside say BBB.geodatabase, plots and stratum sit inside CCC.geodatabase etc etc. I tried the logical approach of just renaming the geodatabase file via windows explorer but for some reason, structure of the runtime.geodatabase is governed by its source name, I assume it has a masterdb table header or xml document type descriptor that sets the scene of what each file name contains. I have yet not figured a way to rename the runtime geodatabse inside of an arctool or script if there is such a tool or method. As the create runtime geodatabase arctool doesn’t provide a name for the output . Is this possible or not maybe via some other lower lying python script or some convertor tool is added to allow renaming of these? I also tried adding the .geodatabase file type in Arc Catalog File otions this does give me a method to rename the geodatabase but I have also found it makes ArcGIS run extremely slow if not crashing ARCGIS often or never actually starting an ARCGIS desktop session.. As per a known issue with custom file types being added to the Arc Catalog "pool" of file extension types. So what I would want is ESRI to write a the rename or file name choice function into the runtime creation tool or build a tool to do the renaming.

I wish to go one step further in that I wish to create multiple runtime.geodatabases and because the data comes from the same geodatabase (with different data within) they are named identically. i.e. core.geodatabase , the point being is that these need to be exported to run in an offline sense and all need to reside in the same folder on the mobile device. to put all the data into one runtime.geodatabase has performance implications for the mobile device in displaying this data. And to do so doesn't work in that apart from not being able to identify which geodatabase has what data in it, the copy command in windows explorer allows you to create a copy but the mobile application doesn't read the two files as anything different from one or the other, and so wont load the data correctly into the mobile application. If I could rename the runtime.geodatabase which repairs/renames the headers or xml or whatever it is within the database this may work. I did sort of find a work around in adding the .geodatabase file type extension to ArcCatalog but the limit then being it basically kills the performance of ArcGIS for any other function. So I wish to see a tool that can copy or rename a runtime.geodatabase without these limitations.

I have noted that via Arc Catalog 10.5.1 if you add file addiitonal types such as .geodatabase or .xlsx, xls or .mxd so these are manageable and viewable from Arc Catalog this creates a huge hit on ARCGIS's performance in all sorts of areas, from saving, to printing from within Arcmap . I realised this was an issue in Arcgis a few versions ago but would have thought it was fixed by now. Anyone know how to improve this and also keep the file types known by Arc Catalog? Thanks Mat

Is there any plans to offer time limited and/or Access limited data to a runtime database tile package, via encryption or whatever. i.e have data time out after so many days of use, offline, or conversely stop anyone copying / moving / duplicating a tile package and displaying it on another device.
