rscheitlin I have been trying to close a widget when my custom widget is opened. I have used your solution above, but because the widget that I am trying to close resided in the widget pool, I have changed pm.closePanel(this.appConfig.widgetOnScreen.widgets[4]) to pm.closePanel(this.appConfig.widgetPool.widgets[1]); I keep getting an error that reads: TypeError: panel.setState is not a function The widget is an "In-Panel" widget. Would you have any idea as to why I am getting this error? Thank You! Chris

Robert, I was afraid of that, but I appreciate the help! One thing we may end up doing is adding the request to an image as a link and then having the image show on the popup. Thanks again! Chris

Hello all, Is it possible to call a function from an ArcGIS Online Popup? I would like to have the title of the popup direct to another part of our web based app. The URL contains a security token that changes so I can't just use an href and link it that way. We have a function that will take a field value from the layer and use it to determine what page in the application that you need to go to. We have tried using href= "javascript:functionName({value from layer}) and an onclick event. These were added inside the popup configuration area on AGOL. The "javascript:" and onclick events were removed when the map was saved. The web map displays inside our web application using an app created with Esri's Web AppBuilder. I would really like to avoid trying to customize popups from web AppBuilder but I may not have a choice. Has anyone been able to do this? Thanks!

Lars, You can also use the ArcGIS Online Assistant app to find a webmap's JSON. Link: ArcGIS Online Assistant Just log in, Select "I want to", and then select "View an Item's JSON". Then select the map that you want to view. Chris

Thanks Robert! That solved my problem! Is it possible to re-activate the layers that were visible before the widget was activated? Thank you! Chris

Hello all, I have been working on a custom widget to work with our application. One of the requirements of this widget is to turn off all of the layers on the map while it is open and then turn them back on once it is closed. I have tried a few different methods of doing this with no luck as of yet. Has anyone came across something like this? Thanks! Chris

Hello, I have an iframe in my page with the src property set to https://myAgolOrg.arcgis.com/home. When I’m not logged in the page shows an error in the iframe “Contents cannot be displayed in a frame”. If I log into AGOL on another tab then go back to the tab with the iframe and refresh it displays the content as expected. What I need to do is programmatically login to ArcGIS Online and set the appropriate credentials in the browser. I’ve tried several different methods with no luck. Has anyone had any luck with this? Thank you, Chris ssiservices

Robert, Thanks for replying! I forgot to post it on GeoNet, but that was the solution that I was able to make work. I am running Desktop 10.4.1 and I did not change anything else with the new .mxd in ArcMap. Thank you! Chris

Jonathan Bailey, Esri has released the ArcGIS Online Assistant app that allows you to view the JSON of an object. Link: ArcGIS Online Assistant To view a webmap's JSON: 1.Login 2. Select the "I want to..." list in the top menu 3. Select "View an Item's JSON" from the list. 4. Select the map or item from the lists on the left of the page. I had been using the method that Herdis Gudbrandsdottir had posted for a while now and this method seems helpful as well. Thanks, Chris

Kevin, In my original post, I was dealing with a web map and layers that are hosted on ArcGIS Online. The layers were secured and I was using the ArcGIS Online print utility rather than one that is hosted on out own server. That being said, I was able to get the secured hosted feature layers to print using a print service that was hosted from our ArcGIS Server. Eventually, though, it would stop working and say that it didn't have the credentials to access the layers and would not work again until we restarted the ArcGIS Server. I believe that this was a short vs. long token issue but I didn't look into that much. In regards to your print service, are you saying that the service itself is secured? Also, Is the link for the raster layer that is being served via "Server 1" using the proxy? If you are using the DotNet proxy it would look similar to this (www.mywebserver.com/DotNet/proxy.ashx?www.server1.com/arcgis/rest/<servicename>/mapserver) With the issues that you are seeing, I don't think that you should need to change your version of WAB. I am not sure if this is related to any bug in 10.2 server or not. I would contact Esri Support about this before you do any upgrading. I apologize but other than activate, and perform some minor configurations on, the print service provided with the ArcGIS Server, I have not had too much experience working with print services on server. rscheitlin or rastrauch may be able to help you more than I can. Thank you, Chris

Hello all, I spoke with Matt Driscoll on GitHub and he has informed me that Instagram has changed its policies on what apps can and can't access their API. Matt also let me know that Esri will add a blog post and a GeoNet thread when the issue is resolved. He warned that Esri may need to make changes the the app to meet Instagram's new guidelines. If that still does not work, they may need to remove the layer altogether. Here is a post by Instagram on their dev blogs: Instagram Platform Update Effective June 1, 2016 - Instagram Developers Link to the discussion: Instagram Access Token · Issue #47 · Esri/public-information-map-template-js · GitHub Thank Matt! Hello, I was working with the Esri Public Information app on my dev machine. I could not get the Instagram Layer to work as I kept getting an error that read (Instagram::400 - Instagram: The access_token provided is invalid.) on the Chrome dev tools. I downloaded the app on GitHub (Link Below) and got it running with a web map I created on ArcGIS Online. I registered my app with Instagram and got a new Client ID and entered in in the "instagram_key" section of the "default.js" file. Still no luck. Link to App on GitHub: GitHub - Esri/public-information-map-template-js: An ArcGIS Online mapping template to showcase social media on a map fo…) I will continue looking into this and update if I find anything.
