Hi. This is probably staring right at me, but can anyone explain to me how the map option "Find Locations by Layer" works? I've set something up in a web map configuration, but I can't figure out what I'm supposed to see in the map. Or please point me to some documentation that explains it in more detail than the "Set map options for apps" help page. Thanks.

Hi. I'm using the basic viewer map template and want to use the bookmarks tool. But it does not appear in my application. Does anyone know what needs to be set in the services, map, and/or app for the bookmarks tool to show up? Thanks.

Hi. We are looking at Esri Maps for SharePoint and I have a basic user access question before we get too far. I understand an AGOL subscription is required to license the product, which we have. But, I am wondering if a user needs an AGOL account to use a configured web part? We have 10000+ staff in our organization and who knows how many external users so if an account is required to use a configured web part on a SharePoint page, this solution is not going to work for us. Thanks, Mary Ellen

Hi. I just wanted to throw in that we've had the same experience with users. We've got new users contacting us asking how to turn layers on and off. For us, the legend is less useful as a default. Thanks.

Hi. Does anyone know if there is a custom role setting that allows someone to view site statistics without administrative access to the site? Our site is growing and it would be helpful if we could share the monitoring tasks without opening the site to accidental administrative level changes. Thanks.

Hi. Does anyone know if there is a way to obtain the number of credits a particular user has used? In particular, we would like to monitor how many credits a user uses using the analytics tools (geocoding, analysis). Thanks.

Hi. I like the idea of using custom locators in AGOL to simulate queries. Unfortunately, I'm getting "The geocode service URL you have entered is invalid or inaccessible" when I try to add mine to agol. I know the service is accessible and the URL works in a browser and works in ArcMap. But, I did not create and publish a composite locator. Is that what's missing for mine to work? Thanks.

Hi. I've created a custom "General - Single Field" locator service on our internal public-facing server servers. However, when I try to add it to our agol organization site, I get "The geocode service URL you have entered is invalid or inaccessible." However, I know the services on this server are accessible. And I successfully geocode an address using the URL in a browser. Also, the locator service works fine in ArcMap. Does anyone know what I could look for to resolve this? It does use https if that matters. This is what the URL looks like (though it probably won't work if you try it as I can't keep it live): https://gis11.services.ncdot.gov/arcgis/rest/services/Locators/NCDOT_BridgeLocator/GeocodeServer Thanks.

Hi. Our enterprise is using AGX build 1500 and we noticed a bit ago that the Find, Route, and Directions functions no longer work. They all return a "No Results Found" message. I know there were changes to esri's related services at the end of last year, but am surprised that existing functionality would break. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this issue? I don't know where to look. Thanks.

Hi. I've got a functioning "my government services" app. It works beautifully in Firefox and Chrome. But in IE9, it throws the following error: RequestError: Unable to load proxy.ashx?https://services.arcgis.com/..../0/query status: 500 I've read somewhere that it could be an IE security zone thing because it works in other browsers, but I do not know where to look to determine if that is it and/or how to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi. The Dec 10th update now has a "view only" mode when using the map viewer on an organization account without a login. However, a blank map provides a "Sign On" prompt that instructs users to log in to access content. I get why, but our implementation of AGOL for organizations does not require a user have an account to view content so we are starting to get requests asking for an account so they can have "full access to the site." Does anyone know if there is a way to change the message in that prompt? Or already have some thoughts on how we might avoid the requests? Thanks.

Hi. There are some good enhancements with this latest update. But some of the changes don't fit well with the way we are using AGOL. However, the biggest issue I'm seeing right now is a completely blank GROUPS page when I am not logged into our organization - no buttons, no text. We have two publically shared groups that should appear on the groups page when a not-logged-in user clicks on the GROUPS link while on our organization portal site. Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? Thanks.

Hi. This may be a stupid question, but we are looking at the My Government Services template for a statewide solution and are wondering how to change the locator configuration (we're using esri's service) to locate a city, state (e.g. Raleigh, NC) or zip code (e.g. 27604) in addition to a full address. Or does that even make sense for this template? Thanks for the help.

Hello. I hope this is the correct forum for this question... We are installing Server 10.1 on a new server stack. We have a Silverlight application that needs access to our 10.1 services. I know that we need to put a clientaccesspolicy.xml somewhere to allow/control access to the services. However, we are not using the IIS Web Adapter, but instead using a reverse proxy. During the installation, we know a file is automatically installed into \ArcGIS\Server\framework\runtime\tomcat\contexts\rootapp. However, Esri's help says that the file in that folder should not be modified; instead we should place a copy of the file elsewhere to control access. (Plus, the default file is not working anyway, but may be another issue.) Can anyone tell me where we should put the file when we are not using the IIS Web Adaptor? Thanks.
