Thanks @SSWoodward. I understand that using the Enter key is part of some people's workflow. But for others, hitting the Enter key doesn't occur to us; we're clickers. I figure clicking should be a valid workflow -- intuitive clicking to enable the save button. Currently, clicking other areas like the white space below the domain section, the white space below the domain value section (codes/description), or the white space in the ribbon doesn't enable the save button. Only clicking the actual domain section row, the Contents pane, or the Catalog pane enables the save button, which seems arbitrary. ... View more

Regarding Esri Case #03702306 - Registering FGDB database view with geodatabase removes domain from the view I uncovered a side issue in that case: "I noticed an issue that happens even before the register with geodatabase step. If the underlying feature class is not already added to the Contents, then when I add an unregistered view to the Contents, the domain won't be honored. That seems like a bug too." ... View more

@SSWoodward  ArcGIS Pro 3.3.1 To my surprise, I was able to reproduce your results. Questions: This behavior is inconsistent with enterprise geodatabases and mobile geodatabases. With eGBDs and mGDBs, we need to register the view with the geodatabase and use the Assign Domain to Field geoprocessing tool. But with fGDBs, that's not needed; the domain is applied automatically when an unregistered view is created. Why are the different types of geodatabases inconsistent? Is that a bug? Edit: Esri Support Case 03702311 - Database views and domains: Inconsistent domain behavior between different geodatabase types Existing ENH-000142247 (not new): Provide ability to display domain descriptions for views that are registered with the geodatabase. @DavidGifford My Esri cases pertain to testing in an Oracle 18c 10.7.1 EGDB. Support did submit a new bug report for the alias issue: BUG-000170076. But I suspect Esri devs consider that to be working as designed, just like the domain issue. So, I think that means this idea is still valid. ... View more

ArcGIS Pro 2.9.5 I tried to use a domain on a FGDB database view (registered with the GDB), but unfortunately, I got an error: ERROR 000499: table is not editable   However, it did work with a registered database view in a mobile geodatabase.
