This was exactly what I was looking for and works perfectly in my application. However, at version 4.24 the watchUtils module is being depreciated and I read that it will be completely removed from the API at some future release. Do you know how to implement this same behavior using the new reactiveUtils module instead?

The parcel fabric features should be subtyped for active and historic. This should be implemented as part of the Parcel Fabric Data Model, as these are very distinctly different types of data. We are finding dangles on the active lines that do not show up in the topology because there is a historical line connected to it. I suspect as we start digging deeper there are going to be other topology issue we are missing due to the historical parcels being part of the validation. One example were this could be a big issue is if you are trying to check all active lots are covered by an active subdivision and the active lot is only covered by a retired subdivision. This will not get caught in the topology as it is. All of the fabric generated rules should be made for both types of data (active types and historic types)

I realize this is an old post... but this seems to have always worked in the past on traditional versioning. We currently have no choice but to use branched versioning in the parcel fabric. We recently hired a new employee and want to have his edit version QC'd prior to posting his edits to default. Yesterday he made some edits and even though his version was not included in the list of edit versions, his edits were posted to default anyhow. I use the arcpy.GetMessages(0) to get the reconcile and post messages directly after arcpy.management.ReconcileVersions and the version is not listed in the messages. But the edits were definitely posted to default regardless of it not being included in the edit versions list. Is this possibly a bug in branch versioning?

@Gianluca We forced our IT department to remove Sophos from the servers running ArcGIS Enterprise. They were not happy about it, but we had no choice since the two pieces of software do not seem to play well together. We are still looking for a good Antivirus solution that does not interfere with ArcGIS Enterprise. Our IT department is looking into CrowdStrike, but I have yet to find any information on it's compatibility with ESRI software. If you are running ArcGIS Enterprise version 10.8 (or 10.8.1) there is a server patch you can install that may help with the orphaned services. ArcGIS Server Orphaned Processes Patch https://support.esri.com/en/Products/Enterprise/arcgis-server/ArcGIS-Server/10-8-1#downloads?id=7916 Thanks, Kathleen

Were you ever able to get the clip and ship published in pro? We are having the same issue and I have yet to find a work around now that ArcMap is no longer supported.

not sure if this will help you in your scenario, but i have found that all users (other than the administrator connection doing the compress) must be disconnected from the database in order for the records to be moved from the delta tables and pushed into the base tables when the compress is performed. If any other users are still connected to the database it will only perform a partial compress and it will not push the delta tables to the base tables. we do not edit in the sde.Default (each editor has it's own version). But i would suspect the compress would still act the same way. Not really sure though, because i assume you do not need to reconcile and post your edits when the edits are being done in the sde.default version.

Branch versioning makes me want to retire early also! ESRI kept saying it is so much easier to administer branch versioned data. But as a long time database administrator, I am finding this to be the exact opposite. Not to mention SQL views are now a serious pain to accomplish without creating a function to extract a versioned view of the default user. Who ever thought it was a good idea to edit through a service instead of directly through the database and create this versioning scheme where the tables grow exponentially instead of compressing back down after a reconcile and post has lost touch with their user base. Yes, let's make sure every administrator has to rewrite their simplified code and make them learn a new API just to roll up edits. It's ridiculous!

We made checkpoints of all the servers prior to the upgrade, so we were able to restore the checkpoints we created. It you do not have checkpoints, I would recommend restoring the server from your last backup just prior to your upgrade.

Rose, That is a shame. Our only way to fix this issue was to roll back the servers and start over. We had to disable our anti-virus before attempting the re-install and it worked the second time. Thanks, Kathleen

I am looking for recommendations and feedback on users experience running antivirus software on machines running ArcGIS Enterprise. Our IT department uses Sophos antivirus and we have all the exclusions set per the technical paper in the ArcGIS Trust Center referenced in this post.. https://community.esri.com/t5/esri-software-security-privacy/new-technical-paper-considerations-for-configuring-antivirus/ba-p/1008120 However we still were experiencing issues with ArcSOC processes getting killed off and orphaned causing the server to start consuming dangerously large amounts of RAM to the point where the machine becomes unresponsive. At one point we had over 300 ArcSOCs tied to a single service even though the max number of instances for that service was set to 10. We are set up with Portal, 1 federated hosting Server with DataStore and 1 additional federated Server that is also licensed for Image Server. Version 10.8.1 I am looking for input from others who are using antivirus on their Enterprise systems. What antivirus are you using? Are you (or have you) experienced any issues with the antivirus interfering with ArcGIS Enterprise? Do you have exclusions set? I am also looking for any recommendations for antivirus solutions that does not disrupt the ArcGIS Enterprise software from functioning properly. Thanks!

Wow... I am not looking forward to this upgrade. I am glad everything went (mostly) smooth for you! Thank you for the additional hints on your workflow. Hopefully ESRI will have any bugs you encountered worked out in a 10.9.1 release.

Yes. We successfully got our ArcGIS Enterprise upgraded from version 10.7.1 to 10.8.1 by uninstalling Cisco AMP and disabling Sophos anti-virus. However, we recently had a windows update that suddenly caused the Sophos anti-virus on the ArcGIS Server machine to start killing off ArcSOC.exe processes. We had all the exclusions set per the ESRI documentation, but it was still destroying the processes and leaving them as abandoned or orphaned processes causing the server to start using excessive amounts of memory. After creating a case with ESRI support we decided (much to our IT departments dismay) to uninstall the Sophos anti-virus and all the issues went away. I think it is pretty clear that ArcGIS Enterprise software is highly susceptible to issues caused by certain anti-virus softwares. Hopefully ESRI will put out recommendations and guidance for an anti-virus solution that is less destructive to the ArcGIS Enterprise functionality in the near future.
