I have an idea about using selected features in an analysis tool in Experience Builder If I use the select tool to select let's say 10 houses from a building layer, I want to be able to take that building layer and use as an input to for instance the buffer tool.. But at the moment it doesn't honor the selection.. it just takes all the features in the layer.. So it would be great if the selected features in the layer would be possible to use as the input. This should of course also be possible with a GP/Web tool that you publish your self.

Hi Jianxia, Thank you for your reply, and it sounds great with the implementation by the end of February - but just to be sure, is it only in the standard Analysis widget tools or also in the custom tools? 🙂 Do you know when this will be available on Enterprise? We have most of our users on the Enterprise Portal and are right now bouncing off ArcGIS Online via collaboration, since the Portal is a bit behind Online functionality wise. Thanks

Hi all, I'm trying to create an Experience Builder (EB) with some GP tool functionality, namely the Extract Data Task, that I have published as a web tool. Now my challenge is, that the tool in EB apparantly doesn't allow the user to draw a polygon and use as the AOI. So my idea was to have a sketch layer, where the user can just draw a sketch, and then use that layer as the input AOI.. However, even though I add a sketch layer in the Web map, and it shows in the EB, I can't seem to actually do anything with it..?? I can't add the sketch layer as an editable layer in the Edit widget, and the Draw widget, doesn't give me any layer to add as input in my tool.. According to the documentation, the sketch layer can be used as an input for analysis tool in the Map viewer, so why not in EB? So I am at a loss..! Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong or if the Sketch layer just isn't meant to be an interactive layer in EB? Thanks 🙂

Hi @Jianxia, First of all thank you for the continous updates and the work you guys are doing, on getting the Experience Builder up to speed with the Web App Builder. Our users are very much dependent on being able to use custom tools, that we are adding through the Geoprocessing option. I can see that it is planned for EB in ArcGIS Enterprise, but can you provide any update on when it shoulf be available? Usually ArcGIS Enterprise is one/two versions behind ArcGIS Online, and Geoprocessing is already available there 🙂 Thanks

@RussRoberts Any updates on the performance issues in Map viewer and Experience builder? We are having the same issues, with bad performance in Map viewer and Experience builder, but great performance in Web appbuilder. As mentioned in some earlier posts, the performance improves in Map viewer when going from "Layers" to for instance Legend view. But still not as good as in Web appbuilder. We hven't found the cause, but I would imagine that some specific type of data/service/settings on data is not working well with the new JS code, otherwise there would be pandemonioum in sthe streets, if it was a general problem. 🙂 We have a support ticket ongoing with our Danish Esri distributor, so hoping for feedback from them as well. But I can't share maps here, since the data is sensitive. Thanks

Ok I actually found the solution shortly herafter in an older post: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-collector-questions/coded-values-show-up-not-description/td-p/34567 If you start an edit session, for instance make one entry and delete it again, the Feature Template updates the description. Then you publish or re-publish your service and the description is showing instead of the domain value when you edit in the feature layer in the Portal or Online 🙂

Hi all, Thank you for your great suggestions. One thing that I probably should have explained a bit further is, that the end user is not a regular GIS user. They want a map showing the desired data in their regular powerpoint presentation (that doesn't have anything to do with GIS). So I would probably have a hard time selling them a completely new program for their presentation 🙂 But just creating a simpel app and link to it, would probably be the best solution, although they really liked the integrated map in a slide idea. Thanks for the input 🙂

Hi all, Since ArcGIS for Office is no longer supported and replaces by ArcGIS for Excel, how can we then have interactive maps in a powerpoint presentation? I've tried setting up an old installation of ArcGIS for Office on our Portal, but can't seem to get it to work.. Are there any other good ideas on how to get an interactive map into Porerpoint? Thanks

Hi all, I would really want to use Forms in the Map Viewer, however, I can't seem to find any information about what happens to the Form, if I overwrite the Web layer from within ArcGIS Pro? Sometimes we make changes to our layers in our database, and then overwrite the published web layers - i know that it destroys custom settings etc that I have made on the layer in the Web map, but does it also destroy the Form? And in a related though, it seems that it is not possible to save a Form, so that it could be applied to another identical layer - is that correct?! Thanks 🙂

Hi all, I'm playing around a bit with the software and would like to be able to customize the Indices settings. Right now it is only the standard pre-settings with NDVI, MSAVI and so on.. I know that in Pix4D, you can customze your settings, but is it possible in Drone2Map?? Thanks 🙂
