This is very helpful, Robert. Thank you for your time and effort in putting this together. Thank you, Ken - for debugging the code. A follow up question - has anyone tried changing the dojoattachpoint? Best I can tell, changing dojoattachpoint has no effect on where the lat / long values appear in the popup. I changed dojoattachpoint to _gallery (a valid value) then to _bogusValue. In both cases the lat / long values still appear in the _description section. Thank you, Paul Lohr

Working with the 3.22 JS API. Would someone please help me find sample code that adds coordinates ( latitude / longitude ) to a popup when popupTemplate is in use. There are plenty of popup and infoWindow samples which do not use popupTemplate but rather simply call the setContent method. For the current time I am sticking with popup / popupTemplate rather than infoWindow because the former seems to handle things such as charts, attachments and relationships while I'm not sure that infoWindow handles any of these (feel free to correct me). I am open to changing my approach. It seems that popup / popupTemplate are called upon map load which makes it tricky to get the coordinates of a click event that occurs well after the map has loaded. Thank you for any help, Paul Lohr

Helpful post, Keith. Apparently ArcMap does not display annotation from the TextString field. The TextString field is probably read when updates are made to the actual annotation data store. What we are trying to do is get ArcMap to update the real annotation data store with the contents of the TextString field. One clarification - the modification that triggers the update must be to the TextString field. For example, run the field calculator and and a "1" to the end of every string (during an edit session). At this point the annotation should be updated. Then use the field calculator and an appropriate code snippet to remove the 1.

This has been a helpful thread. The Integrate geoprocessing tool took care of self intersections which could not be removed by the Repair Geometry tool. In my case it was set very low - at 0.01 feet. I would think setting this properly depends on how tight or loose the self intersections are. This was with version 10.2.2 and a file geodatabase polygon feature class.

Working with Server 10.2.2. I have found the behavior to be the same - FeatureServer = no labels, MapServer = labels. Labels can be added to a FeatureServer type service using an ArcGIS Online map but they do not show up in the Collector app (version 17.0.1). Not sure with the logic is behind that...?

Others having a similar issue may find that the message about the coordinates or measures being out of bounds is incorrect. I attempted increasing the XY extent well beyond the project extent but still received the same error message. New annotation can be created in the layer. Attempting to move the annotation causes the error message to show up. I did edit the related polygon feature class prior to editing the annotation feature class so perhaps this is related to the issue. This is with version 10.2.2.

Old thread, just in case someone comes across this problem - maybe this will help. I had a similar issue when attempting to cache a parcels layer. Just like your case, there was no error message. I am pretty sure that tech support figured out that there were too many vertices - server could not cache the entire layer. I wonder if this has been added to the documentation by now. A useful test might be to reduce the number of vertices drastically then attempt to create the cache again.

This would be useful to me but maybe not to others. Perhaps a customization for ArcGIS Desktop could be created which is based on the freehand tool.

Thank you for helping me with this, Thejus. I have not started on the project but wanted to find out if measures could be retrieved. Likely to use version 4.x. The link to documentation was helpful. Although, I should have mentioned that I plan to work with polylines. Should I use the paths property of polyline to retrieve an M value (measure)? Polyline | API Reference | ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.3 Thank you also for answering the question about ArcGIS Server.

Hello, Is it possible to access measures (M enabled geometry) in the JavaScript API, from a service provided by ArcGIS Server? I don't know if ArcGIS Server can provide information about measures to the application. It could be any version of ArcGIS Server. The user experience could be something like an identify button where measure and offset is returned to the user. Thank you in advance for any help. I haven't found this information in the documentation or forum.

I don't think the statistic operator is the reason that the related record is not showing up (not sure if you were convinced of that anyways). In my experience, Collector will not show related data unless the data comes from a FeatureServer type service (from ArcGIS Server). This brings another issue - FeatureServer layers do not support labels. I did not find any documentation about this either. They were hoping you wouldn't notice. Working with ArcGIS Server 10.2.2 and Collector 10.4.0.

Hi Larry, This is old so surely you've worked something out by now. To get around this issue, I ended up turning off text display in the dimension style then used graphic text or an annotation feature class to place text for the dimension.

Not sure that I can reply directly to your question. If you have intentions of putting the data in an online map, make sure you pick a format that is supported by ArcGIS Server or other GIS server software. That seems to be a possible hang up (I've only looked into this briefly). Someone mentioned that GeoServer has capabilities with multiidimensional formats. ArcGIS documentation states that netCDF is not ideal for performance.
