What are the 3 values you want? val1 = (raster1 = raster2) val2 = (raster1<>raster2) which raster value do you retain here? What is the val3? Regards, Jim

If you store your data in a database (Personal or File Geodatabase), you can do the join there, one time, and have all of your data frames point to the same joined file in the database. Update the database, open your map, and all of the information refreshes without you doing anything further. Regards, Jim

What about 3D Analyst Tools>>Conversion>>From TIN>>TIN to Triangle. This creates polygons of the faces of the TIN, and adds an area field. The "Crystal Forest" has much larger face area than the rest of the dataset, so sort area descending, and select the ones above a reasonable cut off value, and these should be your problem areas. I can not be certain what you are seeing based on this. However, you may try removing any stretch or histogram equalize, and see if this helps. this is under the Properties >> Symbology tab. Regards, Jim

Question 1: You can capture a static snapshot of the basemap to your local drive, and use that. This involves turning off all layers except the basemap in dataview, zooming to your area of interest, then choose "Export Map" and select to PNG or TIff, and select "Create World File." You will get a georeferenced image on your local machine, that you can use independant of the image / basemap server. Question 2: Once you have selected rectify image, the georeferencing is built into the file. However, it is in the new file created, not the original, so add the newly created file to your map and use that instead of the original. To update the original file, choose "update georeferencing". Then you can move on to the next aerial and the first should show in the position where you have relocated/georeferenced it. Regards, Jim

I do not know why the legend symbology would not render, but try exporting the map to a pdf. If that works, it may be an issue with your printer drivers, but at least you could print the pdf. Regards, Jim

Colin, without seeing your gif image, it is difficult to advise you of a best solution. you need to either create features from your image (ie: digitize polygon features from the image) and use those to select by, or if you have spatial analyst, you could extract values to points (assuming that your gif has identifiable values for the coverage / no coverage areas), and then select the point with the coverage values. Your file processes fine. The trouble seems to reside in your configuration. Have you tried a blank map, adding in 1 raster, and running the process? If this fails, you could try resetting to original install configuration, or run a detect and repair on the software. A link to a forum post on resetting configuration: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/19645-is-there-a-reset-button-for-settings-how-do-i-restore-original-settings?highlight=registry+software%5Cesri Regards, Jim

Jeff, It sounds like you need to calculate statistics on your resulting raster dataset, to get ArcMap to find the min and max values. Regards, Jim

It all looks fine. No filenames too long (over 8 characters) or beginning with a number, no spaces in the file names or directory paths, no putting output into a geodatabase, so no permission issues. It should run. Attached is the setup I used in Raster Calculator. How does it compare to your Raster Algebra setup? Regards, Jim

Of primary importance is the graphics card. There are cards designed for high end gaming, do not go that route. There are cards designed for 3D rendering and display - get one of these. I went with an NVIDIA Quadro 2000 (a mid to high end card at the time with 1gb ram) in July of 2009 and run arcscene as well as other 3D visualizations without trouble. I am sure there are better cards out there now. Regards, Jim

It is possible that the scale is changing, and you are passing the threshold of the scale range applied to the maps, so you are seeing different basemaps. Try maintaining the same scale, or capture a static snapshot of the basemap to your local drive, and use that. This involves turning off all layers except the basemap in dataview, then choose "Export Map" and select to PNG or TIff, and select "Create World File. You will get a georeferenced image on your local machine, that you can use independant of the image / basemap server. Regards, Jim
