It sounds from the error message that the huge number of columns is more than your database can handle. Try removing some columns or shortening the field names and see if that resolves the issue.

Just a quick note for anyone else's benefit: it seems like UNC paths are a hard requirement. I had the same Azure storage file share mapped to Z:\ on each of the three machines of our base deployment, but the utility still wouldn't run (with correct amount of slashes etc.). Replaced it with the UNC path and now it's started.

For popup expressions it would be really useful to be able to get the layer name and ID for a feature. I'm just starting to use Arcade and am trying to create dynamic URLs based on feature ID, for which I also need the layer ID, only to find that Arcade does not support this. It does allow extracting a featureset, which even displays the name or ID, but there is no way to dynamically extract this.

@Anonymous User is there any way to do this in 10.7.1? Ie copying a folder on the Portal machine, or something like that?

Presumably you could hop onto the machine hosting Portal and edit the code in some way - just be sure to make backups.

In previous versions of Enterprise there was a bug that did not allow import of certificates with special characters in their passwords - I encountered this in 10.7.1. There was also something relating to not being able to use an alias that had already been used, but I did not run into this myself. More information in another thread here including a bug number. It may be worth checking on this and running it past your Esri support contact? I'd be curious to know whether this is fixed in 10.8.1.

If the only thing changing is your users' email addresses, then my gut feeling is that you would not need to change anything in the Azure enterprise app. You may need to do something to make sure your users can still access your Portal. With SAML logins, Azure AD passes the UserPrincipalName on to Portal, so you will need to find out whether this is actually changing for your users. It is possible that your IT department will simply set up an email alias dllamas@gmtcce.com while the actual underlying email address (and UserPrincipalName) in Azure AD still remains dllamas@gmtgis.com. Basically, talk to your IT to get more information on this change. If the actual email address is changing, then I would expect that IT will make sure that the same users will still be in your Azure AD enterprise application. In that case what you would need to do is change your Portal users to use the new email addresses - this may require some scripting if you have many of them.

Hi James, We are running into this exact issue with ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1. Could you let us know what the status of this fix is? Will there be a patch coming out soon?

I'm seeing the same error messages - a great amount of Severe errors, same as the topic starter. However I'm not doing any tile work, rather we are having issues with users trying to submit responses to a Survey123 form, and one of my colleagues is not able to re-publish the survey. This is on ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1, fully patched, spread across three machines (Server/Portal/Data Store), all of which have plenty of resources.

Thanks Fabian - this was a very useful bit of knowledge as it's still affecting me at 10.7.1. Changed the password to exclude special characters and used a new alias. Bugs like this really should not be present at all, and certainly not after another major release of the software. How did this get past QA?

Hi all, This is very useful and we have successfully deployed a base ArcGIS Enterprise install this way in our Azure environment, by adapting the example script for our own requirements. Michael Hatcher - should you be able to share any further example for a multi-machine deployment that would be extremely useful.

Hi Elliot Jones, Thanks for your response - however it's not this issue as no message like that appears on the activity log. We are now working with one of our IT colleagues who has successfully deployed a base install of ArcGIS Enterprise as a dev server through a Terraform script. We are hoping to create a more advanced script that can do a multi-machine production deployment - if you know of any examples of such a script that would be very helpful.

Hi, I've been trying to deploy a single-site development instance of ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 through the Cloud Builder on Azure. One oddity during the process was that the Cloud Builder would not let me create new items such as a virtual network - I had to do this by going to the Azure Portal in my browser instead. The error occurs after everything is set to go and I press 'finish' - it takes maybe 5 seconds or so before it reaches the step "Uploading automation artifacts', after which I get a 403 Forbidden error: ESRI.ArcGIS.Azure.IaaS.Jobs.DeploySiteWithAutomationJob.<StartJobAsync>d__14.MoveNext() The subscription has the relevant permissions enabled, and a colleague in a different part of the world has managed to deploy ArcGIS Enterprise to our Azure instance (but in a different subscription). I've tried installing Cloud Builder on one of our servers as well, just to try and rule out some connection issue. Any advice is gratefully received.

I'm running into this issue myself, and I suspect that many others will as well. It still seems to be a problem even in 10.7 - shouldn't this have been fixed? It really shouldn't be needed to add extra lines just to fool ArcMap into accepting the in_memory workspace. This is a bug and should have been treated as such.
