I'm using Arc Map 10.2.1. I have an Excel spreadsheet with two sheets in it. One sheet I can bring into Arc Map without a problem and the other I cannot. They aren't much different. Here are some screen shots of the Excel sheets and the data in Arc Map. Does anyone know why the second sheet does not come into Arc Map properly? I've read the topics in Formatting a table in Microsoft Excel for use in ArcGIS—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop and can't see what is wrong. Excel sheet 1 After bringing sheet 1 into Arc Map, here's the attribute table for Sheet1 Excel sheet 2 After bringing sheet 2 into arc map, here's the attribute table for Sheet2. Notice the fields are all null

I'm using arc gis 10.2.1. I have created 90,000 point features in a versioned point feature class and updated about 90,000 rows in a versioned object class that is related to the point feature class. The object class is related to the feature class using the objectid of the feature. I made my changes in a version off SDE.DEFAULT. A co-worker wants to make the same changes I made repeated in a versioned geodatabase he's using. His geodatabase has the same schema as mine. What's the best way to get my co-worker these same changes? I can see the inserts and updates in arc map in my GDB using the version difference tool. We don't have a license for the "Data Reviewer" tool from esri. If it was just 90,000 new points, I could export these to a shapefile and send him that. But I've also got the changes to the object class that is related to the feature class. I'm not sure how to get him these changes. The geodatabases do not use global ids.

Thanks Duncan. It turns out that the problem comes from the feature I was trying to create. It's an Arc FM feature and has an auto updater assigned to it that fires on create. The auto updater was causing the problem. Arc FM is a product from Schneider that sits on top of Arc GIS. The solution was to turn auto updaters off before creating the feature. Now it works.

I'm using arc gis 10.2.1. I have a console application to create point features in a versioned SDE geodatabase. When I try to call .Store on a new point feature I get an exception: Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {E1740EC5-9513-11D2-A2DF-0000F8774FB5} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 8000ffff. I can create a new point feature in a point feature class in the same dataset without error. The code below shows 2 points getting created. The first one works, the second throws. From arc catalog the two point feature classes appear the same. They are both versioned, since they're in the same dataset. They have the same spatial reference. _workspaceEdit.StartEditing(false); _workspaceEdit.StartEditOperation(); IPoint newPtLoc = new Point(); newPtLoc.PutCoords(2e6, 6e6); IFeatureClass testPtFC = _featureWorkspace.OpenFeatureClass("ARCFM.testPt"); IFeature newtestPt = testPtFC.CreateFeature(); newtestPt.set_Value(newtestPt.Fields.FindField("SUBTYPECD"), 1); newtestPt.Shape = newPtLoc; newtestPt.Store(); IFeatureClass poleFC = _featureWorkspace.OpenFeatureClass("ARCFM.POLE"); IFeature newPole = poleFC.CreateFeature(); newPole.set_Value(newtestPt.Fields.FindField("SUBTYPECD"), 1); newPole.Shape = newPtLoc; newPole.Store(); // this .Store throws the exception shown above

There are over 200,000 records in the table. I don't want to delete the attribute. The reason to change the precision is because the domain the attribute is tied to is getting new codes that are 6 characters long.

I'm using arc gis desktop 10.2.1. I have a versioned table with a field that is a short with a precision of 4 and tied to a domain. It's also non nullable. I'd like to change this field to have a precision of 6. What's the best way to do this? The fact that this attribute is non nullable seems to complicate things. If I try to add a new attribute to the table with precision of 6 and non nullable, I find that the table must be empty in order to do this. The table will never be empty. I can get to state zero and unversion it, but it won't ever be empty.

In Arc Map, there is an Image Analysis window that I can use to create a shaded relief image from a .tif. In the screen shot below, I used the button high lighted in the Processing area of the Image Analysis window in order to create a shaded relief of a canopy height image. I would like to do the same thing in ArcGIS Pro, but I can't find the Image Analysis window. Is there an image analysis window in Pro? There is a Hillshade GP tool to create a shaded relief, but it doesn't seem to produce as nice an image as I get from the Image Analysis window in ArcMap. Perhaps I need to use a series of GP tools to achieve the same result, but I don't know what they are.

Thanks, I tried that but still can't see the point cloud. Maybe it's my data, which I got from esri but I can't recall where. Any idea where I can get some LAS data to test in arc gis pro? Something that you know displays properly. Thanks again.

I'm trying to view Lidar data in arc gis pro 1.3. I've done this in arc map using the LAS dataset toolbar and clicking on the 3D view button. Here's how it looks in arc map: Here's what I see in arc gis pro. I added my LAS dataset to a Scene in arc gis pro. I get a red bounding box for the point cloud, but as I zoom in, I never see the point cloud displayed like I see it arc map. Does ArcGIS Pro 1.3 offer a similar experience to the 3D View on the LAS Dataset toolbar in ArcMap? I do have the 3D Analyst extension enabled in arc gis pro.

I can use the IEditEvents to be notified of edits to features, but is there some way to be notified when the user in ArcMap makes changes to a table? For example, if the user uses the Attributes window to update a field in a table, I would like to know that an update has happened. I don't see IEditEvents_OnChangeFeature firing when I update an attribute in a table, which makes sense because it's not a feature that is changing. What I'm looking for is something like IEditEvents_OnAnyChange, just so I know that the user is doing some kind of insert update or delete. I'm using ArcMap 10.2.1.

I have to update a versioned table using data from an unversioned table. These two tables represent customer data and have over 1 million rows in each. The geodatabase is Oracle 11g and the ArcGIS version is 10.2.1. The Oracle MERGE statement seems perfect for this situation. The source is the unversioned table and the target is the version view of the versioned table (ending in _EVW). However, when I try to use the Oracle MERGE statement I get this error: SQL Error: ORA-01446: cannot select ROWID from, or sample, a view with DISTINCT, GROUP BY, etc. 01446. 00000 - "cannot select ROWID from, or sample, a view with DISTINCT, GROUP BY, etc." I get this error when the target of the MERGE statement is a versioned view. I don't get it when the target is a unversioned table. Does anyone have experience using the Oracle MERGE statement where the target is a versioned view? The statement that fails in sql plus is : MERGE INTO SERVICEDELIVERYPOINT_EVW S USING (SELECT SITE, ISSEQ, PRIORITY FROM CISCATALOG) C ON (C.SITE = S.SITEID AND C.ISSEQ = S.SEQUENCE) WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE SET S.PRIORITY = C.PRIORITY WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN INSERT (S.SITEID, S.SEQUENCE) VALUES (C.SITE, C.ISSEQ)

I should have mentioned that I developed the custom tool box and models on a 32 bit machine. That's what the client provided me with. The custom toolbox gets copied to 64 bit machines. This could account for the issue. I'm going to get this to work on a 64 bit machine properly and stop using the 32 bit machine. This may fix the problem, but if it does I don't know why.

Yes, all files are in 1 folder. In fact, there's a second model in the custom toolbox I wrote that uses a .py file and it works fine. I can't see any difference between the one that works and the one that doesn't. Except for the 'store relative path names' check box. That was unchecked but I changed it to checked and still get the same behavior. Leaving that unchecked would explain the problem, I suppose, but that oversight has been addressed.

I did NOT check the Store relative path names box. I changed to having the Store relative path names box checked, but it stills behaves the same way.
