Hi Susan, Can you please be more specific about the tools and widgets you want to use multiple times. For my work, I use the Filter and Summary tool over and over. But, I can't think of other tools I would want to use more than once. Thanks, Gerry

Gareth and Hilary, Our company IT department really wants this capability. In fact, they only want Admins of the Portal to be able to create Web Apps in particular the GIS Manager. The reason includes who becomes responsible for all that content and who verifies the accuracy of that data. So, I would go a step further and allow the publishing of content for personal project use, but not allow "Publishers" to create Web Apps for distribution. Thanks, Gerry

Hi Micah and All, Perhaps a better approach than documenting your constant frustration, is to offer Esri alternatives to the current model. Maybe, they should offer an unlimited credit usage plan for a certain dollar amount. In addition, it could potentially be scaled at different price points for education, public, and private sectors. I work for a private company and would consider paying a higher annual fee than to have to approach each region as to how many credits they think their users will need in the upcoming year. That being said, you should offer Esri an alternative way to monetize high usage, instead of asking for something that everyone knows will never change. Respectfully, Gerry GISer since 1994 Autodesk and Esri

Hi All, Our users definitely need this functionality, so two thumbs way up! The current layer that they are populating contains over 10,000 records and should reach 25,000 by the end of next year. They need a way to remove all the noise and focus on the two or three competitors they are currently entering or updating. Thanks, Gerry

Kevin, Thanks for a great explanation of exactly what we need. This seems very obvious to me and can be used in so many ways. Gerry

Hi All, I am continuously asked by management how many simultaneous users per 4-core ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5 license. Conversations with colleagues in the public and private sector put the number at around 100 - 125. What is the general consensus of those who manage an ArcGIS Enterprise system? When does performance really taper off? What causes performance to taper off? A few more details include the following: No advanced geoprocessing Simple routes and Smart Editor Filtering combinations No in-house imagery No additional 3rd party tools and widgets Roughly 50 to 75 services Thank you, Gerry

Hi All, <Select> has a great temporary [Create Layer] option that would be very useful in the <Query> drop-down choices. I have management that will not go into <My Content> and change permissions to add layers to the current map session. So, [Save to My Content] is not an option. It would be very nice to have the ability to add a temporary layer directly from a <Query> selection set. Thanks, Gerry

Hi Amy, If you have created Web Apps using WAB within ArcGIS Online, the Portal WAB is very similar to that experience. We store all data in SQL enterprise geodatabases that are registered through the Portal Data Store. Regards, Gerry

Hi Michael, Thank you for your reply. Yes, I prefer the simple (https://mymap.team.com/myProjectName) that DE creates. The issue is that I am not allowed to log on to the server and DE points to the Server Manager machine, so it puts the server name in front (https://usrtx4689dgre.team.com/myProjectName). My IT prefers https://mymap.team.com/mapviewer/index.html?id=08864098cdd044668c4fffe4a6767039, becuase mymap stays in front. I have a feeling it is a Web Adaptor configuration issue in addition to some firewall settings. Thanks, Gerry

Imagine a large SQL database with three categories in a field; Blue, Red, Green. Three member groups match; Team Blue, Team Red, and Team Green. Currently, or the only way I know, is to filter by color and create three separate Web maps. Then, filter one for blue, one for red, and one for green. Finally, match the appropriate group color with the appropriate filtered Web map. Can we have the option of attaching a group of members to each filtered layer within one Web Map. So, now you have three filtered layers and three appropriate groups attached to each. The result is one Web map that can be viewed by the three separate teams, only revealing the layer that is visible to their team group. Here is my current scenario. I have a region that includes 10 states. Management wants sales by state for the different sales teams. With my approach, I have to create 11 Web maps. One for each state and then an overall for management that includes no filter on the state field. It works, but if we expand beyond one region it grows exponentially. If anyone has a better explanation, please feel free to add comments. Thick skin here, so comment away. I truly believe this would help 80% and more of those of us who have to filter territories, states, regions, sales areas, and more. Thank you for your consideration. Pics to follow... Gerry

Hi, Since it appears that you are working with two different coordinate systems, I would convert them back to raster DEMs. Then, use the 3D analyst extension to re-contour them exactly with the parameters you need.

Hi All, My IT team and I have been going back and forth on which WAB version I should use to create user Web Apps. I have used both of the above for around five months and prefer the Developer Edition over the Portal version. The only reason IT wants me to go with the Portal version is because of the "friendly" URL it creates. I told them I prefer the DE version because it's updated four times per year, it has more tools available, and it seems to perform much better under load. Does anyone else think that it's faster than the embedded Portal version? Thanks, Gerry
