I have successfully created a Forest Tent Caterpillar survey form that will help determine if defoliation will occur next growing season. The form has a series of calculations based on input from the user completing the form; there are 10 sample sites documenting new, old and unknown age egg masses. I'm able to fill out the form successfully and get all the metrics I want back from the Survey123 Connect and publish it. BUT...the downloaded form in iOS crashes after I start filling out the form. I tested on an Android and it didn't crash but most users are outfitted with iPhones already. I was hoping someone might review the excel workbook below and offer any suggestions. I've tried multiple workarounds thinking it was some bug with my calcs but I'm still having the same problem crashing the app. I believe I'm using the latest and greatest version necessary components. Thanks for weighing in!

Thanks for the reply Derek. I ended up redoing the app (it was from a template and didn't take an extraordinary amount of time). If I find the issue again, I'll be sure to contact support to try and identify the issue.

I'm having some pretty serious functionality issues with WebApp Builder today. It's failing to capture edits I've made when editing an existing application. It won't save edits. If I change themes, it erases any progress I've made in configuring the application, and even if I save the application as a new app, it doesn't reflect changes I made. I hope this isn't a case of rushing something out the door with little testing.

This only lets you change the URL of the overall story/application. It does NOT let you manage individual links within an application.

Thanks Bixby, I looked over some of that discussion. I question though, whether those minuses directly apply to query layers in GIS. I guess it's hard to define the 'end user' in GIS, but I personally see them as those looking at the GIS data. As a GIS/Database person, I manipulate the tables/views to be what I expect the end user to see in the map. If I'm doing this through SQL, where I'm performing queries, and naming fields, I expect that to carry over to what the end user is seeing. My point is that is not the case. I don't expect my end user to be re-writing their query for their query layer every time a change is made on a table/view in the DBMS so that they can see the 'CORRECT' data. The way I would expect this to happen seamlessly, is if ArcMAP allows query layers to maintain the wildcard as the data's source. As it sits now, it doesn't make sense to create queries/views in SQL for ArcMAP if it isn't going to realize those changes for the end user. Granted, I'm a pretty novice DB person. I don't have much experience in administrating large, federated, databases... But I have enough experience to know when something isn't making sense to our end users. When I alter a query in our database view and the end user isn't seeing the same thing I am in SSMS, there is a problem.

We have noticed this as well. Making minor changes in our SQL table like updating a field with a new join value causes an issue with the query layer not updating with the updated values in the SQL view. For instance, we have a SQL view with a unique field that joins some lookup tables. I added a new join with new lookup values and perform a definition query. I select distinct uniqueID's in the SQL table and I get 957 records. If I open up the GIS table I see 717. IF.... I go into the GIS query layer source and simply change the query to SELECT * FROM I then see the correct number of records. It's almost like the layer is not updating with changes to counts in the SQL table. Even if the uniqueID is the same and is truly unique/distinct. If we're saving layerfiles of these query layers, there is an inherent risk that updates to the SQL View from which the query layer draws from, will not happen unless the user changes the Query back to SELECT *.

I'd like to echo a couple of the requests made initially: 1. The ability to export via a user defined polygon 2. Ability to download a FGDB Functionality that I don't believe exists yet, but would be very helpful would be the ability to send URL parameters to our open data site to specify certain things like: 1. The layer by name 2. The extent to filter from 3. Queries for filtering 4. File format to download 5. etc. This would be helpful for some organizations that use ArcGIS Online or any other web platform for mapping, the ability to provide a link to the end user to download a particular layer they may be interacting with in another application. For instance, they may be mapping parcels in a particular town. If a user identifies, or queries this in another application, it would be nice to provide the user with a link to our open data site that would select parcels, zoom to the same extent, and start downloading the data in a new window. This could also simply function as a service to extract this information from an endpoint the Open Data publishes when your site is created/managed.

We actually had this same issue not too long ago. It was as if the Open Data index/cache/whatever it is, failed to include the shp/shx files when it was indexed.

We are having intermittent issues with ArcGIS Open Data Portal. We get errors that state "The shapefile you requested is currently unavailable. " We can access our rest endpoint, ArcGIS Open Data can access the requested json, it just won't download the shapefile. Fiddle doesn't return any errors, but waits for a long time for each request. Perhaps a timeout issue... We have a very large Open Data REST endpoint which may be causing performance issues, but our recollection in the documentation is that Open Data caches our datasets in the cloud and presents them for download on request... We worked with tech support weeks ago and they didn't have a great answer for us. The interface is completely uninformative and cumbersome. Typically the troubleshooting workflow involves us needing to reset the index/download for EVERY dataset that we have hosted. When you have 70+ layers available for download, this isn't an easy task and doesn't fix this issue immediately. Sometimes there are lags between suggested fixes and all of the sudden, "BAM!" it's working again, no worries, it's fixed, thanks, leave us feedback to let us know how your experience was! What is the deal? We are currently using this for our data distribution method and if these intermittent issues continue, we are going to have to find another solution and recommend another solution to our partners as well. We are curious if others are having the same issues and if so, what your troubleshooting patterns have been to fix it. Thanks.

I'm having trouble downloading a map to my device, but only in one particular area with previously collected features. If I try to download another area of the map, I don't have an issue. It's a very simple map, just a basemap (aerial with labels) and a single layer from a published feature service with Sync. The layer has attachments that have been collected with each feature. I'm not sure what the issue is with this one section of map, but each time I try to download this area, I get a: "Map Download Failed: Unable to download the map. Item not found in the database. (Table, domain, relationship class, etc.) gpkg_contents" If I look in the server log, I see a SEVERE error with message: "Error: The item was not found. The item was not found. The item was not found." It makes little sense that it only occurs in this particular area. I've run a check on the geometry and I don't get any geometry errors. I've checked the attachments, nothing unique, all are images and are relatively the same size.

Is there a way to add editors to your story map? I'm working in a collaborative group and would like to assign a user the ability to edit my story map/map journal. Is this possible?

I may answer my own question here, but I remembered that I could accomplish this by setting the editing template to the desired default value.
