Jason, The "unique value count" functionality for indicator widgets is available in the Dashboard Beta, but not in the classic dashboards AFAIK. Check out this blog: Making it Count with the ArcGIS Dashboards Beta Vivek Malleshappa I too have run into the situation where functionality that is available in one type of dashboard widget (i.e. value conversion for indicators) is not available in a different type of widget (i.e. serial chart has no value conversion). So don't assume that there is parity of functionality between widgets. Jay

Well that sir is just a really big question. My first bit of general advice is that when asking a question like that, you need to include some useful background information, such as...what GIS experience do you already have? Are you already proficient with non-spatial programming? Are you a student just starting out, or an experienced worker looking to switch gears? It is typically hard to get useful responses to such a fundamental question without setting the stage a bit, so we know where you are starting from. Do you already know at least one programming language? Learning Python or Javascript is a good start. ESRI has some appropriate training plans already developed that have a lot of free content if you are under maintenance: https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/5e14df4436e7e15d09b53cff/arcgis-api-for-python-fundamentals/ https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/5eb193be59bcad254d30a591/arcgis-api-for-javascript-fundamentals/ You couldn't go wrong taking a look at those plans and see if any of that aligns with what you want to do. Joseph Kerski Beyond that, keep an eye open for the MOOCs, these are a free way to get a pretty good exposure to the many different aspects that are the science of GIS: https://www.esri.com/training/mooc/ Another alternative is to find someone who already does this kind of work and is willing to mentor you. Good luck. Jay

Thanks for the explanation Peter. I figured it must be related to that darned UTC. There are plenty of comments on GeoNet about how we all wish the default usage reports were a bit better. Guess I'll go find a related Idea to vote up. Gary Zaepfel Quinn Korbulic

Now that the election is "over", I'm trying to understand the usage statistics for our election Wait Time app (which was a big success). When I look at the Usage Chart, the dates seem odd. Usage appears to peak on Monday 11/2, the day BEFORE the election, when the polls were not even open. This doesn't seem right. I've attached a screen shot showing the usage chart for the hosted AGOL layer that supports our app. Can anyone explain why the usage stats seem to be off by a day? Am I reading the chart wrong? Peter Klingman Thanks, Jay

Sometimes this sort of problem comes down to the details: What version of Samsung hardware are you running? (We had a problem with a Note 20 Ultra not showing the user's assignments.)

Turns out that the Mobile Worker with the problem was using a "Samsung Galaxy Note 20 ultra". When they switched to an older Galaxy S7 it is working fine.

We are using Workforce Classic to manage Mobile Worker Assignments in Early Voting. While generally successful, I am getting isolated reports from some workers that they are not getting notifications and have to refresh the app to see new assignments. I know this is happening on Android, I'm not sure whether we've experienced this on I-phone. Is there any troubleshooting possible for this issue? Jeff Shaner Thanks, Jay

I've had a lot of fieldtype-related issues with data coming from Excel files. Excel (the #devil's database) doesn't really know what type of data (Integer, String, Double, etc.) is stored in a field, so I've gotten unpredictable results when bringing Excel data into other programs. I bet if you look at the item details, Data, Fields, you will see that the field types are different between your two methods. It looks like in your second screen shot that the data is probably not being recognized as a number, which would explain why you can symbolize on unique values, but not Amounts and Counts? My general advice - avoid Excel when possible. Use a real database. Suzanne Boden offers some good tips on https://community.esri.com/groups/esri-training/blog/2017/05/26/working-with-excel-data-in-arcgis-pro that might not be directly applicable here, but is still a good review of how ESRI (in general) interacts with Excel files. We are using #Classic Workforce to support Early Voting and it has been going great. ESRI software is making us look like heroes! However, I have an Iphone user who has started having issues with the Mobile Worker phone app. User reports having to refresh to get their new Assignments and that in one instance she marked an Assignment as Complete but it did not clear from her work list. Most recently, this user was unable to open the Project and received the error shown below: This user was subsequently able to open the project, so this was a transient problem. My question - are these types of glitches indicative of some communications/data transfer issue or is there something else going on? Craig Gillgrass Thanks, Jay

You shouldn't have to, but have you tried applying a filter to that view layer within your dispatcher web map? Jay

While building content in AGOL it would be handy to have "Flags" of different colors settable on each item in order to keep track of what items are actually used in production vs. what is being used for testing or development. While I'm building content I typically end up with a bunch of temporary maps, various dashboards and WAB items and it would be useful to be able to assign the items different flags to associate them with different trials, where I might be trying out different methods as I iterate through development. I'd put it right next to the "Favorites" icon, like this: Ned Cake Jay

Did you ever resolve this Nina? In ArcMap 10.8 this works for me. Can't say for sure why it works now and not previously.
