George, No, initially the view did not work correctly in Pro - it appeared to be drawing everything when zoomed way out, but as I zoomed in features would start to drop out (weird, I know). When you say "registered with AGOL", are you talking about registering it with SDE (right-click in Catalog) or something else? Max # records for service = 2,000 Total Records in View = 11,046 (points) Yes, this particular view is a join of two different databases. But we've had similar trouble with views before. Having said that, we've apparently fixed our issue. On the view side of things there were some things not quite right. Changes we made included "return top 100%" and fixing some issue with the OBJECTIDs (casting a source field as INT to get this to work properly). Initially, when we were having issues, I noticed that SOMEHOW every other record had an OBJECTID = 0 (yeah, that could be a problem, eh?). What I'm really in need of is a tutorial or detailed step-by-step example starting with a non-GIS table (containing XY values) in SDE and the whole process of creating a spatial view from it in SQL, with all the bells and whistles to make ESRI in general and AGOL in particular happy with the result. Thanks for taking an interest, Jay

We have had trouble getting spatial views (typically points) created in SQL to behave in AGOL. Sometimes they will only draw a few of the features, or most, but not all the features. Seems like different points will draw (or NOT) as we zoom in and out. Is there a guide to best practices for creating a view in SQL and then doing whatever it is that ESRI needs to make it happy with the view? I imagine that this SOP would include registering the view with SDE and maybe adding a GlobalID, plus possibly a bunch of other steps. Can anyone point me to a comprehensive resource? Reporting back - apparently there is currently no way to do this in a Serial Chart. However, this idea by Olesya Powers is appropriate - go upvote it! Value Conversion for Charts - Dashboards

Updated info - this apparently is related to the custom images used for the Assignment icons. If I change back to BASIC AGOL icons they show up on the Dispatch app. Curious as to why these show up fine on the web map when it stands alone, but not show up when that same map is used within the Workforce Dispatch app. FURTHER INFO: I loaded my custom icons to our in-house content system, used THAT URL for the custom symbols and that seems to work fine. So, immediate problem solved, but still odd...

I have a Classic Workforce app that we used in the Primary Election this year with no problems. I've made no changes, but now my Assignments icons are not showing up in Workforce Dispatch app. The Assignments show up in the left-hand LIST of Assignments, but not on the map. In the screen shot below, the polling location shows as a green box (meaning it is a Ballot Drop Off and is OPEN), but the Assignment is not showing. The odd thing is, if I go to CONFIGURE and DISPATCHER MAP, the Assignment icons DO show up inside the Dispatcher map itself. Just not when the map is shown within the Workforce app. The Assignment icons DO show up on the Worker map in the Mobile App. ANY IDEAS?? Jeff Shaner Jay

Thanks Wei. Unfortunately that work-around doesn't work. The refresh setting affects the refresh of the Map and the List widget, but does not appear to force the Feature Info widget to update. This screen shot shows the disagreement between the Map and a List (both of which show the updated attribute) and the Feature Info widget, which shows the attribute as it existed the last time the entire web page was refreshed (i.e. when the app opened). For now, I'll remove the fields that get dynamically updated from the Feature Info widget and just rely on the map symbology to reflect the Open/Closed status of the Polling Locations. Eagerly awaiting the October update. Thanks Jay

I have an Experience Builder app (voting locations) that contains a Map and a Feature Info widget that displays the pop-up from the selected feature on the map. The data is an AGOL hosted feature class. ExperienceBuilder Voting Locations When the data in the map is updated, the relevant symbology changes appear on the map within 30 seconds, honoring the layer refresh interval settings in the webmap. The problem is that the Feature Info widget DOES NOT REFRESH in the same way. It seems that whatever the data was at the time the page loaded, that is what the Info Widget is stuck with. Selecting other locations, then going back to a location that contains newly updated data still shows the old "as of time webpage loaded" data in the Feature Info Widget, even though the Map displays the correct updated symbology based on the most recent data update. How do I force a refresh in the Info Widget so that it stays in synch with the Map? This is a time critical question, as voting starts in just over a week... Bernie Szukalski Jianxia Song Jay

Agreed about the complexity. I'm pretty much in the same place you are - it takes less time to re-create the apps (and there is a certainty of success) than to TRY to figure out the script. Long-term though, it will be necessary to figure this out. I'll post back here if I get anywhere with this. Jay

Christopher, Everything I've seen suggests that moving items between AGOL and Portal requires using the cloning function of Python API. Example: Copy content—Portal for ArcGIS | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise I have not personally used this, though it is on my "figure out how to do this" list. Jay

Victor, Are you sure that you have a time-enabled layer in your map? It isn't enough to just have date/time data in the layer, you have to set the layer properties prior to publishing the service. The configuration of the widget is disabled if there are no time-enabled layers in the map. Set the time properties on data—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Jay

Thanks for the suggestion Derek. The simplest way to state what I want is -- to give the user the ability to display the last N values (generally the last 7 values, but also the last 30, 60, etc.). Depending on whether today has a value yet, the "last 7 values" will include a values from either the past 6 or 7 days. I've concluded that the current Selector categories just won't work for what I want, so I've submitted an Idea: Dashboard New Selector Category (display most recent N values) Thanks for talking this through. I'd like to give users the ability to filter data via a Selector such that they can show the last N values (generally the last 7 values, but also the last 30, 60, etc.). Can we have a new Selector Category that is based on limiting the number of data rows? This is useful where the user wants to see the "most recent 7 days worth of data" - which is NOT the same as data WITHIN the LAST 7 days. See this thread for more background: https://community.esri.com/thread/260552-dashboard-selector-to-display-last-7-values Thanks, Jay
