@ChrisBerryman tonight I submitted 25.2.2 (iOS) and 25.2.3 (Android) patches that include fixes for the search issue (BUG-000179817). Depending on the store approval process you could see an update tomorrow or Thursday. I'm going to put a new community blog out when they are approved so this information about patches is more centrally located. Regarding the duplicate layer issue you mention, this is in progress with our Maps SDK team but no ETA on a resolution yet. @RyanJalynskii the Apple App Store and Google Play do not support rolling back to previous version. @RichlandGIS can you submit this issue to Esri Support so we can track it down please? If it is only happening with some 10.9.1 map services, we'll need to sort out what's unique about them that causes the rendering issue.

Hi Jen. The 25.2.x iOS and Android releases are a major update and thank you for reaching out and asking this question. We've had this update to Field Maps in beta for the past 12 months as we've migrated from the 100.x version to the 200.8 version of the ArcGIS Maps SDK. As you will see from the posts and comments, it has been turbulent and we are working very hard to fix and patch issues as quickly as possible. We've released 2 patches on Android and one on iOS so far and we are not introducing any new features now until the Q1 2026 update to ArcGIS Online. Where we can, we are trying to provide affected customers with workarounds and be as transparent as possible on the issues and fixes. So to your questions... Can I still have users leverage the 25.1.0 version and there will be no disturbance in the force Oct 23rd? Yes. Are you advising Users to upgrade Field Maps 25.1.x to the recent 25.2.0 before the October 22 AGOL platform upgrade? Consider timing that makes sense to you and your field staff. The 25.1.0 version will continue to work after the October 22nd release of ArcGIS Online. New capabilities, like tasks, will require updating to 25.2.x. Some considerations: After a user updates, they will be required to sign in. Moving from 100.x to 200.x we were unable to migrate identity and need to prompt. What I would recommend is that you put in place a process for update where you avoid a situation where the app updates when they are at home or in the office, they get to a remote location and then start the app and are forced to sign in without any connectivity. Have them open the app, sync any changes while connected and then update. We have identified an issue with offline content from ArcGIS Enterprise that is specific to Android devices as well so a best practice would be to remove any offline map areas and download fresh when you complete the update to be safe. With ArcGIS Enterprise, we did not migrate the previous Portal URL used from the last sign in either and if they decide to cancel the sign in they will have to enter the URL again. Consider that either you can push the PortalURL via an MDM setting or provide a QR code generated from an app link that they can scan so they don't have to type it in. We updated our system requirements for iOS and Android. If you have users that can't find the update in the store, it may be that their device no longer meets the system requirements. Features that include true-curve segments are no longer editable in the Field Maps mobile app. If a field user selects a feature in a layer that is editable, but can't edit the feature, it likely has a true curve segment. We don't want to densify your true curve segments with an update. We're considering supporting attribute-only edits in the future. Barcode entry now requires that the form input type be set to barcode. You will need to update your forms in Field Maps Designer if you have not already selected barcode as the input type. As I mentioned above, there are several issues that we are working on patching as well. At this time, we're commenting on the initial community blog post with updates on progress as that is where most of the comments originated.

@DavidForbuss1 were you adding duplicate layers in your map to work around the lack of support for editing Subtype Group Layers in Field Maps? If so, perhaps you might want to consider changing the composition of your map? BTW, up next with UN in Field Maps is support for Subtype Group Tables (both viewing in the pop-up and editing in the form). We are planning to add this support in time for the next network management release (ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1).

Thank you to everyone for reporting issues into this thread and our deepest apologies for the challenges that you've encountered with this update. Please submit issues to Esri Support if possible so that you have a case number to track and we can use the detailed information you provide to hunt down issues and fix them. I wanted to provide you an update on some of the issues you've reported and are planning to fix and release patches for as soon as possible: Signing into Field Maps using ArcGIS Enterprise If you encounter an "Unknown error" when trying to sign in, the Portal URL may include one or more leading spaces in front of _https://. Field Maps 25.1 was more fault tolerant with the entered URL than it is with this release. Please check and remove any leading spaces. We'd also recommend providing an app link/QR code so that your users do not have to type in or try to paste the URL. If you have an MDM, consider pushing the portalURL key/value app configuration. You can find details about generating app links/MDM configurations in our deploy documentation topic. If you encounter an “Unknown error” and the Portal URL and it is not the issue above, we have separately identified a Redirect URI failure. This is a regression from the 25.1 release where the Redirect URI is not being encoded in the authorize call. We are actively working on this issue and plan to provide a patch release as soon as possible. BUG-000179875 - using SAML or OIDC in-app authentication fails. If you are encountering this issue, setting InAppAuth=False is a supported workaround until we can get to a resolution. "Unknown error" when attempting to sign into ArcGIS Enterprise. BUG-000179898 - Android in-app camera - attempting to use the in-app camera to capture photo attachments on some devices results in a blank screen. We have resolved this issue and are planning to release this fix in a 25.2.2 patch soon. BUG-000179817 - Search fails in ArcGIS Field Maps when a group layer is configured as the search source. We have identified a fix for this issue and are planning to release a patch with this fix as soon as possible. It is currently not planned for the 25.2.2 (Android) patch or the 25.2.1 (iOS) patch. BUG-000176361 - $originalFeature function fails during feature creation on iOS devices. We have fixed this issue, and it will be available in the 25.2.1 (iOS) patch. Unable to switch offline basemaps when the spatial reference isn’t compatible with the web map. To temporarily workaround this issue, create a copy of your web map and ensure the spatial reference of the web map matches the offline basemap you intend to switch to. We do not have a patch identified for this issue yet. Pop-up and form editing performance – there is a notable degradation in performance when viewing pop-ups or editing forms that have several expressions. We are actively working on a fix for this issue but do not have a patch identified for this issue yet. Please note that the above list of issues is not a complete list. We are actively investigating and plan to resolve several additional issues. Our team is dedicated to improving quality and performance with each update. Some additional, noteworthy changes within this release: If you are unable to see the 25.2.x updates in the Apple App Store or Google Play, your device may not meet the updated system requirements. Barcode entry now requires that the form input type be set to barcode. You will need to update your forms in Field Maps Designer if you have not already selected barcode as the input type. Features that include true-curve segments are no longer editable in the Field Maps mobile app.
