Hi Joseph, XY provider is supported by ArcGIS Earth itself, so it can be used anytime in either connected or disconnected environment. "XY provider is used to search x,y coordinates entered in location units—for example, <longtitude>, <latitude>—even in a disconnected environment.” However, the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service is from ArcGIS Online, by default, a user does not necessarily need an account to use it since ArcGIS Earth connects to AGOL automatically even if the user is not signed in. The chances that may cause the issue described above are: The user is being blocked from ArcGIS Online by his/her admin in the organization. There is a parameter for admin's configuration named blockArcGISOnline, which blocks request and portal connection to ArcGIS Online when starting ArcGIS Earth. The user is using ArcGIS Earth under disconnected environment or behind a firewall where AGOL is restricted to use. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks, Mandy

Hi Joseph, Thanks for connecting! Displaying of the text symbol is not currently supported in Earth, it is in the product backlog. Though I am not an expert of ArcGIS Pro, as far as I know you can try below workarounds in order to display labels in ArcGIS Earth: 1. Convert a feature layer to KML with the 'Layer to KML' tool in ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap, and import the .kml file to ArcGIS Earth. 2. For map service resources, you can 'Generate KML' directly from ArcGIS Online, for example, open the world boundaries and places in a web browser and click "Generate KML' at the bottom, then import the generated .kml file to ArcGIS Earth. Thanks, Mandy

Hi Malik, Yes, symbology capability is currently at design and development stage, and will soon be available around Q3 2019 on the next release (i.e. version 1.10) of ArcGIS Earth. Basic symbology rendering for feature layer, graphics, and raster layer are planned to be supported. Thank you! Mandy

Hi Malik, There is a plan to redesign the 'administrator configuration' workflow at 2019Q4 or 2020Q1, with the intention to provide a more intuitive user experience and simplify the configuration process. We might be more cautious about adding new enhancements at this point. Your feedback will certainly be considered. Have a good day! Mandy

Hi Malik, Relative data path in the administrator's configuration file is NOT supported. If you, as an admin, are trying to configure startup layers for your organization, could you check if the data path specified is accessible (at least readable) by other users in your org? Example: <layer name="startup_tilepackage" type="TilePackage" url="D:\test.tpk" state="Invisible"/> Thanks, Mandy

Hi Jay, ArcGIS Earth 1.9 is going to be released very soon! In this release, new capabilities are added for KML and KMZ layer, including manually refresh or adjust refresh rate settings for the KML network link, and display hyperlink and snippet in the table of contents. Numbers of enhancements are made additionally. More editing capabilities of the KML layer are already planned in the next few releases to accomplish the KML/KMZ story. As is mentioned in this blog, the mobile version of ArcGIS Earth is also available on both iOS and Andriod platform now. It's time for you to try it out. Please follow us on Twitter at @ArcGISEarth, or read more about ArcGIS Earth at ArcGIS Blog. Should you have any question, simply post and it will be answered! Thanks for your continued interest in ArcGIS Earth.

Hi Rishita, Thanks for your feedback and thanks for attaching the data for investigating! I tried it with ArcGIS Earth 1.8, it freezes my operating system as well, unfortunately. However, I added it to the upcoming ArcGIS Earth 1.9 (yet to be released), it does not hang and takes only seconds to load, by compromising a bit of the rendering performance. ArcGIS Earth 1.9 will soon be released around 2019 Dev Summit, you might want to try it then. Regarding your question: 1. As ArcGIS Earth evolves, we will continue improving app performance, in both loading speed and rendering effect. 2. ArcGIS Earth is a free product, a licensed version might be available in future. 3. ArcGIS Earth is designed to be fully operational under disconnected environment or behind the firewall. So if you have identical local data stored on your machine, you do not need to connect to the network/server to add a service. There is plenty of local data/package format that Esri provides to create that are supported in Earth, such as tile package, scene layer package, local raster, and shapefile. I hope this helps! Thanks, Mandy

Hi Anna, Thanks for bringing it up. Indeed, the startup experience is different from adding layers manually. At startup, if you have mixed spatial reference basemaps (WGS84, Web Mercator) in the active portal's basemap group, only basemaps whose spatial reference are the same as current application spatial reference setting are well displayed, and others are marked with warning symbol. The mechanism is adopted for multiple reasons but is also for improving the startup performance. Current workaround is to either adding other basemaps manually, or startup Earth with either of the spatial reference settings.
