Hi David, thanks for your help. It looks like this is a bug/lack of implementation. Apparently the featuredataset property is not exposed using connectionProperties - which is pretty poor. See the following discussion. Link At the bottom of documentation Link it seems I will have to use the Cartographic Information Model (CIM) interface to repair a data source link! I’ll try to do it this way.

I am clipping layers in a map and then re- linking the layer in the map to the new data source. The clipped layer is always in a gdb, the original layer is either in a shp or feature class in a gdb. To re-link I get the connection properties of the original layer, then create a new connectionProperties for the clipped layer. This is generally working for shp and feature classes in a gdb. However when the original feature class is in a feature dataset it never works. I have tested the same data not in a feature dataset and it works. I haven't been able to find an example of how to do this. The connectionProperties from the feature class when inside or outside a feature dataset appear to be identical (no feature dataset name to be seen anywhere.) I have a further complication in that one of the gdb's has a feature dataset and related tables. In this instance I don't care about relinking relates or joins, I just want the clipped data. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Ian

Hi, I have stumbled upon what seems to be a spurious error when downloading attachments. One of my jpg attachments downloaded but was corrupt - bottom half of image is grey. The original is not corrupt. I then try to process this corrupt image and my script breaks. Is there a way of 'catching' the result. I know attachments.download() should return a file path but as the image did save to file I expect this would not return an error. I haven't been able to replicate the error as all the attachments subsequently download correctly. It does seem to have been a slow connection or file system type error. Is there a good way to check if an image file is corrupt. I fails when I try to rotate the image. I would like to re-download the suspect image immediately if I can detect the condition.

I am using the ArcGIS Python API from ArcPro. I would like to upsert features from a spatially enabled data frame to my existing feature service on PORTAL.The data data is originally a csv which needs to be reformatted somewhat, I then want to upsert the cleaned spatially enabled dataframe to my existing hosted feature service ( the schema's are the same) Is this possible? I have searched but can't find a code snippet. Alternative what would be an alternative which would follow my workflow. Regards, Ian

Hi , I haven't been able to find any help on publishing content to a named folder on AGOL/Portal using the python API. The example I have created in the user home folder and then gives code to move the content, creating a folder in the process. Is this the preferred method? Or should I be able to publish things directly to a specific folder? Thanks. Ian

HI, I am looking for the best practice way to make my script run in ArcGIS Pro and Exterprise portal without modification - specifically getting the gis(). The user will be already logged in and have an active portal before running the script. At the moment I use gis("home") when using portal and gis("Pro") when using Arc Pro is there a test I can use to determine whether the script is running in in Pro or Portal so I can choose? Alternatively, is there a different approach I should be using? Thanks, Ian

Hi James, you mentioned that this script would be available on ArcGIS Online as a toolbox, where would I find it. Also would it be available on Portal? We put our Survey 123 on our Portal. Finally, is it intended to update the script to work with ArcGIS Pro? Thanks, Ian Hamilton

Can the select tool not zoom to the extent of the feature. This can be very annoying if the feature is larger than the current view , especially as it zooms and rotates to a plan view.

I have created an offline mobile scene package, but no labels appear. Is this a current limitation or am I doing something wrong? I have a 2 D point layer, I have added it to the 3D layers, symbolized as an extruded cylinder and added a label. In Arc Pro scene all this shows up correctly. When I export to a Mobile Scene Package I get no labels. Thanks in advance, Ian Hamilton

Hi Andrew, thanks for your reply. I missed that in the documentation. I should have realised. While waiting for a reply, I did actually try what you suggested and Hey Presto !, it worked. As a follow on, there seems to be no point using Web Mercator if your original data is not in Web Mercator, would that be correct to say, especially if you want to switch rasters on and off? Thanks again, Ian
