I have a survey that contains 3 different groups of questions based upon the type of inspection being carried out - Daily, Weekly or Monthly (See attached xlsx). Each of the groups only become relevant when the inspection type question is answered. Within each of the groups, all of the questions contain default values of Pass to speed up data collection. The problem is that no matter which inspection type is selected, when the survey is uploaded, all of the questions with default answers send up data as if they were answered in the survey. I do not want the default answers of a daily inspection being uploaded when a weekly or monthly inspection is what is being done. I now have data results that do not accurately reflect the inspections we are doing. --gary

I don't believe so. There is a grid functionality in xlsx forms but i do not think it is enabled in Survey123. If you use the minimal appearance option, the question will only take up one line each and the survey will not be too bulky. You may want to use the horizontal-compact appearance so that the yes/no are check boxes rather than a pull down (easier to tap the check box on screen). --gary

You could create a group for each of the items in your description field. Then use select_one questions for the remaining questions. It may not look exactly as the table above but it will collect all the data you need. --gary

Survey123 always collects lat/long in the background when a survey is opened. You do not have to add a geopoint question to the survey if you don't want to. --gary

They used to work prior to the upgrade to using the camera. We used a bluetooth scanner and it sent the text data attached to the barcode back to the survey. Not sure if this will still work but i will try it with one of our external scanners and let you know. --gary

Erich, We are using Geoevent to poll the hosted feature service and send emails when surveys are sent in that meet certain requirements ie. a deficiency. It is very easy to setup and we have had much success with this. --gary

Can't the end time be related to hitting the plus sign and adding a new record to the child table? Then, when the last record is added to the repeat, the parent form submission can be used for the final record end time if the plus sign is not hit. Only the end time for the final record in the child table may be off a bit, but for the purposes of my survey it would be fine as the repeat is the last thing to get filled out. Also, if a parent form is saved as draft and then opened again for editing, is the start time going to be the initial open or the second open for the edit? Similarly, how does the start time work on and edited repeat? Thanks, --gary

We have a survey where we are tracking time spent to complete the survey by using the Start & End field types. We have placed them in the main survey and also within a repeat that collects individual task information. When i reviewed the test data, the Start and End time worked perfect for the fields within the main survey, but the start and end times within the repeat were always the same. I made sure as i filled out the repeat tasks that i took more than 2 minutes for each task to be entered into the survey. Is this the expected result from adding the Start/End field types within a repeat? Thanks, --gary

Testing a new survey that contains a repeat. The ParentGlobalID field in the relate table contains all zeroes instead of the actual ParentGlobalID (see attached jpg). I have attached the survey file as well. Survey123 Connect 1.10.10, Portal 10.4, Pro 1.2 Thanks, --gary
