taking dummy points and specifying symbology at the ranges I needed in Counts and Amounts (color) seemed to do what I was trying to accomplish! Thank you so much for your help!

The hosted feature layer is an empty feature. It has no attributes. GPM is a field name which will hold the attributes which I want to create 4 ranges for and then assign a color to each range. So when a value is generated in the GPM field, the hydrant will get the color of whatever range it falls into.

I think I will have to create dummy attributes to hold the values for the ranges in ArcGIS Pro and create symbology that way then delete the dummy attributes and upload it to ArcGIS Online acct. Would like to do all this in ArcGIS Online web map and not have to create it in ArcGIS Pro and then upload it. Thanks for your help!

Is there a way to create a template in ArcGIS Online to hold the ranges and assign the colors to the ranges in the template. Then have a web map reference that template? The hosted feature layer which will hold the features already exists in ArcGIS Online and I am trying to use that feature layer instead of creating a new one in ArcGIS Pro and then sharing it as a web layer

Thank you for the reply Erika! What I am trying to accomplish is to assign colors to hydrants depending on what GPM value they have. I have four ranges which hold the GPM value for the hydrant. (ie, 0-499 - red, 500 - 999 - orange, 1000 - 1499 - green, and 1500 or greater - blue) But this value will be determined in the field as it is calculated in the form. In other words have the hydrant or point turn that color in a web map as the value is filled in on the form. Thank you

Hi, I have a Survey123 form which is filled out by workers in the field for Hydrant inspections and this form updates a hosted feature layer in ArcGIS Online. The task is to create symbology for this hosted feature layer based off a range of values based on the calculated GPM for that hydrant. My initial thought to do this was to create a symbology layer in ArcGIS Pro and then just upload that layer to ArcGIS Online but that just copied over the existing hosted feature layer. So my next idea is to use styles in a web map based off the ranges but I am not sure how to accomplish this. Can someone help? Thanks

I have added these fields and this calculation into my Survey123 form and the form opens in the Survey123 app like I wanted. Will the GPM field calculate once I submit the form?

I have a map which which has a number of points on it. Each point will hold a value which will be input by a worker in the field. I want to create color coded symbology based on a range of numbers, (ie 0-499, 500-999, etc.) How can I do this in ArcGIS Pro? I know how to do it based off of numbers already in an attribute table but how do you set up symbology for a feature service which hasn't been updated yet? The idea is once I get it working in ArcGIS Pro on my desktop then I can transfer it over to a web map accessed through Collector by the workers in the field. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks for the response! I'm not sure if you could provide me with the formula for flow rate. I saw one when I tried searching for it and thought maybe there is a standard formula that is used and maybe if I asked someone would reply with it. I have someone else here working on trying to get it for me too. That's not the main question I had though. Once I get this formula how would I enter it on the survey123 form. Should I use 'calculate' as type and then Flow Rate as name and label? Should the expression just be entered as is once I know what the expression is? Thanks

I have a Survey123 form which my Hydrant inspection guys use when they go out inspecting Hydrants. What I want to do in Survey 123 is be able to calculate the flow rate for each hydrant but I am not sure how to enter this into the XLS form. They already are collecting data on the Static Pressure, Residual Pressure, PSI and Diameter. Can someone help me with the formula to calculate flow rate and where to enter it in the XLS form. I assume it goes under the Calculate field but am not sure. Thanks
