I think that generalization in the Z axis is depend on The interpolation method for DEM creation cell size ( small cell size make your 3d line more smooth ) After create DEM make your line get elevation from DEM surface. layer properties > base heights >elevation from surface > floating on a custom surface

I did something like that before. I had 4 table and I wanted to do summarize for all tables in one table and I did like the below picture , I made summarize for each table then I did final summarize for merged table. but all table had same fields that I used in summarize. This is important

Is the coordinates for only point? or you have many coordinates ? Do you know where the coordinates locate?

I updated the model as row 03 in Dan reply. I think that what you want, isn't that? you can download it in attachments.

The number of temperature points will not cause any problem, but 3000 county centroid is mean 3000 iterations in model. and it will take long time. the two equation above is same. The first equation for VB in field calculator and it give the same result of the second manual equation . If you want other one please write it in manual form . thanks

The model is ready. Just you should add field for average temperature to county centroid shape file before use the model. you can download the model in attachment and the picture below for model design

very good you will not need to add two fields you will create one field only in County centroid feature for ( average temperature) and I will create the model , and I will attach

You can do that with model builder, Just add two fields in U.S. county centroid Feature class, the first field you will calculate a certain distance (weighted by the square of the inverse distance).the second field for average temperature values but you will let that field Null then run buffer tool using the distance field. select by location for all temperature point observations within each polygon use summary statistics tool to get average get this value and make field calculate in the second field that you created you will use iteration selection, to do that for each polygon buffer. thanks

If you want to locate specific pixel you can use GO To XY tool in Tools bar If you want to know the coordinate of any pixel , you can use identify tool then click on the pixel and you will get this window that have the coordinates of pixel. thanks

1- Use Append tool if 78765 polygons are not in one feature class or shape file. 2- give each polygon a unique code 3-Run Intersect tool for that feature only, it will give you the overlap parts 4-use Erase tool and make the input the Append feature class , and the erase feature the output of Intersect tool 5-use join table using unique code - that you created before- to compare between the two polygons after and before erase 6- select the polygons that percentage below 20 % (shape.area after erase/ shape.area before * 100 ) that is mean there are over 80 % overlap Notice keep all joined feature not match feature only, because may be there are 100 % overlap and will totally erase so its area after erase equal 0 . that will make your expression true 0% (below 20 % ) I think that may be help you.

I am not familiar with Global Mapper, but I think that you should to export your DWG file in 2004 format to make sure that will not cause any problem. If you don't see polygons , then you should to open DWG file in AutoCAD program and make all layer open ( all light is open) and save the file before close. Try that

Yes, you should check your coordinate system and units before calculate the area. Make sure that your coordinate system is projected, and your units are in meter not in decimal degree, M S.

I think you need to use Construct 2 points line tool in COGO Toolbar as picture below: just create polyline feature class or polyline shape file. and start edit session. Or You can use "Bearing Distance To Line" tool in toolbox (Data Management Tools>Features) Thanks
