I am attempting to test Collector on a Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. I receive the 'The Server you are trying to connect cannot be verified,' message after entering my Enterprise sign on credentials. I was using an S5 which was accessing the Collector app with no issue. I can open the Survey123 app on the S9. Any help would be appreciated, many thanks in advance.

Hi Chad, Can you be a little more specific in your question on setting up services? My only issue that I recall, was at first I was publishing services from Pro that were already published as part of the solution (a lack of experience on my part). The online help indicated adding the feature layer to the map in Pro, which I took to be a layer not a service. Once Esri cleared that up with me, and I understood I could drop the service in the Pro project, I was off and running. It also helped me understand the pivotal role Pro plays in publishing and connecting services from AGOL, Enterprise, etc.

Hi all, Chad, thanks for starting the discussion. I have been using Pro daily for about 9 months now, as is one of my GIS co-workers. We like it! Very rarely has Pro crashed on us. We keep Pro updated to the latest version as soon as it comes out. Any new map creation I now do is occurring in Pro, and any updates to ongoing projects originally developed in ArcMap, I am moving to and continuing in Pro. I prefer the black background option. Initially, I fought the legend and scale bar tools (as other users have stated), but I have been successful in understanding how to use them, and my legend and scale bar formatting is back on track now. I find the Web map and feature service publishing, along with associated Portal connectivity, much more intuitive and easier to use than in ArcMap (though my service publishing is limited to AGOL, and not available to Server currently; we don't have ArcGIS for Enterprise or Portal). I have deployed several of Esri's Local Government Solutions within Pro. The solution deployment tool is great. I generally add the solution's feature service layers to the Pro project, and add/load/update/delete features in Pro, and treat the Pro project as the source of truth. I find the attribute field and domain functions in the solution deployment tool much easier to use than in ArcMap. We are impatiently waiting on the utility network functionality, but have heard it is available through ArcGIS for Enterprise. We are planning a jump to Enterprise this year. I do however find ArcMap more convenient for creating a quick map of features of interest to answer an urgent question. Pro requires setting up a project. To get around this, I created a Pro project called Test, and can pull/remove feature layers as/when needed. The workflow is still not quite as quick as in ArcMap, but close enough for me. My two cents. Regards, Jay

Hello. We are trying to understand the overall workflow in using Workforce, Collector, and Survey123, along with the Workforce Python scripts on GitHub to automate creating and assigning work assignments. We are increasing our use of field tablets and apps, and removing 'paper and clipboards' from our daily activities in our Public Works and Water Resources department. Currently, we are looking to apply the concept to fire hydrant inspections (with plans to expand this to hydrant flushing), sanitary gravity main flushing, and catch basin inspections and repairs. We have created the various web maps and editable feature services that are opened in Collector. We can call up Survey123 through a link in Collector, then return to Collector after the survey is submitted. We are also looking into bringing Citizen Problem Reporter online and as part of this plan, when fielding incoming calls for trash, snow removal, potholes, etc., and assign them for action. We would like to establish a procedure that automates creating and assigning the work overnight, and have the assignments ready to go the next morning when the field techs sign in to Workforce (mobile). I have read through several of the GeoNet posts, and watched various Esri Workforce videos and training/learning items. We are new to this whole concept, as such, the overall process is not clicking well. We publish to our ArcGIS for Server site and AGOL, but we are not on ArcGIS for Enterprise yet. As a test, I began by creating a Workforce project for the Citizen Problem Reporter (CPR) application. I added the eight feature services to both the dispatcher and worker maps in the project configuration. These eight services are the major problems such as Trash Problems, Road, Blight, Park/Trees, etc. I set up some dispatchers and workers in the project. Workforce displays the various features for the eight problem services as entered in the CPR app. If I click on one, the Create Assignment dialogue opens and I can create the assignment. I have to enter/reenter the information (redundant) to create the assignment, and the process is still manual. At this stage, I am unsure what to do next in terms of automation that we can apply and where/how to apply it to implement and achieve our Workforce goals. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Shari, Glad to hear you have it working! I thought there was a field in the configuration panels to modify the nondescript message, but I cannot seem to find it now. Perhaps I am wrong. Regards, Jay

Hi, I just downloaded and installed Navigator on my android phone. When I tried to access the app, I received an 'unable to sign in, not licensed to use Navigator' error when I try to sign on through ArcGIS Online. We do not have Portal for ArcGIS. We use web tier authentication. Anonymous access is clicked on in the AGOL settings. I am not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Scott, If I understand correctly, the View Definition is similar to a Definition Query. I updated the field entry in the attribute table the feature view was defined by, the new feature appeared. I reviewed the help Get started overview - Capital Improvement Plan | ArcGIS for Local Government and I did not see much on the topic of View Definitions. It would be nice to tweak the online help regarding View Definitions for us solution rookies. Many thanks for your help, Jay

I am working with the Capital Improvement Plan solution deployed using the ArcGIS Solutions Deployment Tool in Pro. If I understand correctly, when I add a feature to the feature layer service, the result will show up in the feature layer view, and vice versa. When I add a feature to the layer service, nothing appears in the view. I suspect this is operator error.....what am I doing wrong?

Hi Allison, Moving the city polygon layer beneath the feature service layers took care of the problem. The dialogue boxes are opening for each feature. Many thanks! Regards, Jay

Hi Jake, It appears my reply to your idea never made it. I received warnings about image URLs still with http, so I changed them to https, and the warnings went away. For the feature dialogue boxes, when I clicked on a feature in each map, no messages were returned through either browser console. Thanks, Jay
