Hello. We are using Workforce in ArcGIS for Enterprise 10.8.1 (on-premise). We have migrated several classic Workforce projects to the new Workforce (using the migrate button and renaming), and migrated assignment data using the Python script in a Python command shell. We noticed that supplemental feature services (e.g., city boundary, storm water network, etc. hosted on the Enterprise Server) added successfully to the classic Workforce project web maps (dispatcher and worker), did not carry over in the migration to the new projects' web maps. Thus, we started adding in those services (again from Server as this worked in the classic Workforce), beginning with the Worker web maps. When the Worker map was saved, a warning was issued and the Create Offline Map Area button was disabled. Removal of the supplemental service(s) did not restore the functionality and remove the warning. The Server services were checked and the sync option enabled, services saved and restarted, and added to the web map. Same behavior. Though the Server is federated with Portal, we thought that maybe with the new Workforce, services have to be published and hosted on Portal. We added a sync enabled service, hosted on Portal, to a new worker map. Same warning and offline disable behavior, even after removing the Portal hosted layer. It appears that once a supplemental service is added, the offline feature is disabled, and remains so even in the service is removed. There seems to be no way to return the app to its initial state. Screen shot below of the warning. We are hesitant to continue, would like to understand if adding supplemental layers in the new Workforce app is not supported, and if not, how can we restore the project web maps to their former state so we can access the offline capability. We don't know if this is a bug. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jay

Hi. We have a similar multi-machine setup for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 with AD. Our two web adaptors sit in our DMZ server to allow us access through the firewall with appropriate permissions. I don't know the deeper details on configuration, but I hope this helps. Regards, Jay

Hi Aaron, We continued to run into an error when running the script. The error was stating 'assignmentRead was not listed in the table' (or something to this effect). After spending considerable time in trial and error in the command line settings, we realized the Python code specified "assignmentRead," while the field in the classic Workforce assignment feature service was named "assignmentread." In our copy of the Python script, we edited the field name to all lower case and the script ran successfully. Thanks again for your help, Jay

Hello. I am trying to use the 'migrate_assignments' script to move assignment data from Classic Workforce projects to new Workforce projects in ArcGIS for Enterprise (10.8.1 with Workforce patch installed). I have already used the 'migrate' utility in the Workforce web app dashboard to create new Workforce projects from the classic ones. I am using ArcGIS Pro 2.7.0 which now has ArcGIS for Python 1.8.3. I am using the 'migrate assignment only' command prompt provided in a blog dated August 31, 2020 (Migrate a Classic Workforce project (esri.com). From the blog: python migrate_assignments.py -u <username> -p <password> -org https://<org>.maps.arcgis.com -classic-project-id <project-item-id> -new-project-id <new-project-fs-item-id> I am running the script from the python shell in Pro. Regardless of the command line settings, I receive a syntax error. I place double quotes around the parameters instead of the < >. python drive:\folder\folder\migrate_assignments.py -u "username" -p "password" -org "https://webadaptor.cityofnewarkde.us/portal" -classic-project-id 5c792f3583e44a6b910076d0d7f04628 -new-project-id 766c82cff9464341850ce625c6e99a76 I could not find a way to download the script directly from GitHub. Rather, I had to copy the code and paste it into Notepad to create the migrate_assignments.py. I have tried many iterations when it comes to placing the double quotes around the parameters. My lack of experience is evident here. The user has admin privileges. I am at a loss as to why this script is not running, or as to what operator error is getting in the way. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe I have figured out what was wrong. The FGDB I was using was at version 9.x. Once I upgraded the FGDB to 10, I was able to save the subtype codes and descriptions in the Create/Manage tool.

Using the Create/Manage subtypes tool in Pro 2.6.x and 2.7, I can add codes and descriptions on an integer field, press OK, the the changes appear in the subtype table. When I click on Save in the main ribbon, I am greeted with this error. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

UPDATE: We discovered the patch I referred to in our original post above did not get installed. We ran PatchFinder and could see the patch was not listed in the output for our Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 machine. We were successful in installing the patch today, and testing revealed our questions above were answered. If you are an iOS user, any Workforce projects built in ArcGIS for Enterprise will need to be in the new project format (i.e., not "classic"). Also, the newest ArcGIS Workforce app will need to be installed on the iOS device. Any existing (classic) Workforce projects on Enterprise will need to be migrated to the new version using the "Migrate project" utility provided. The patch benefits extend to Android devices also.

Our team is troubleshooting accessing Workforce projects via the mobile app (both iOS and Android) created in ArcGIS for Enterprise. It’s our understanding that any Workforce project created on Enterprise is developed in the “Classic” format. However, it appears the newly released ArcGIS Workforce mobile apps can only show Workforce projects that are created using the new project schema. Does the October 2020 ArcGIS Workforce General Patch , if applied to our Enterprise Portal environment, now build Workforce projects using the new schema? If so, does it provide the ability to convert form the “classic” to new (i.e., having a 'migrate' option as in ArcGIS Online)? Our ArcGIS for Enterprise is at version 10.8.1, but was upgraded prior to the patch release. If no… Are there plans to address BUG-000125988 as we receive errors when trying to access “classic” Workforce projects on the old “Workforce for ArcGIS” iOS app. These projects are stored on Enterprise with IWA security enabled on the portal. This thread (Unable to Connect to Portal. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 301.) is the exact issue we are experiencing with Workforce. Please note these “classic” workforce projects are accessible using the “Workforce for ArcGIS” for Android App.

Hi, apologies if this has been asked already. I have AGOL hosted web applications that consume URLs from other organizations. With the upcoming switch to https, will http URLs from elsewhere cause the Esri web app to not function correctly. For example, I have this URL (http://sites.udel.edu/parking/permit-info/) in the Parking Locator web application as a link to information on another organization's website. Will this example, and others like it, cause our web apps to not function properly? My concern is if the other organizations serving information are not migrating their URLs to https, will we see the consequences. Many thanks in advance. Regards, Jay

The Dispatcher map display in the ExB app, sourced from the Workforce projects, seems to have a map extent issue. When I choose an assignment type (filter), the Dispatcher web map zooms way in so that it appears blank on the screen. If I zoom out eventually the map will appear.

Is there a list of reference basemaps (Basemap Gallery) that are installed by default when ArcGIS for Enterprise 10.8 is installed and configured? We installed Enterprise 10.8 a few months ago and recently upgraded it to 10.8.1. We are working with Experience Builder, where we have embedded Workforce dispatcher maps in several page section views. When looking at the ExB app in Live View and in Preview, the display of the reference basemap is sporadic, either there or not. I have tried the Dark Gray Canvas, Streets and Nova basemaps in the Workforce Dispatcher maps. The Nova map tosses up a message when saving the Dispatcher map (something to do with how the sharing is set).Clearing the browser cache does not help. Running Developer Tools is showing 'Warning: Too many active WebGL contexts.' I am using the Edge browser. Similar results in Chrome and Firefox. We have added many web maps to our reference basemap Group from the living atlas. I thought if I can identify the original default basemaps, maybe one of those would get us past this issue. Ideally we prefer to use the darker themed maps, so the assignment statuses pop on the dispatcher and worker maps. Any insight would be appreciated!
