Hello. I have a Survey123 (created using Connect) in a Dashboard. We are using ArcGIS Enterprise portal. I am using the 'pulldata' function to bring in latitude and longitude from a CSV file for fire hydrant locations. When I test entering a fire hydrant, the selection list works fine, lat and long are retrieved, a location calculated and the pin is dropped on the map in the correct location, in the Connect app. Same result when I use the Survey field application on my smartphone or on my laptop. When I test entering a fire hydrant in the Survey in the Dashboard, I get the error I entered in the subject line of this post. The behavior occurs regardless of the web browser I try. I read a post from a couple of weeks ago (Solved: How to stop Survey123 to attempt to get user locat... - Esri Community), but I was unsuccessful in my attempts to follow the suggestions. We have another similar Survey/Dashboard application, that uses pulldata in the same manner and it works fine (no browser error). What are we missing? Thanks in advance, Jay

Hi. I am not sure where to submit this request, so I am starting here. We noticed a street (Old Barksdale Road) in our community (Newark, DE) is not placed correctly on several of the Esri reference basemaps (e.g., Streets, Nova, and others). The street is correctly placed on the OpenStreetMap reference basemap, and it is placed correctly in the GIS feature class or services available from the state of Delaware and New Castle County, DE. Also, some reference basemaps refer to an area in south Newark as the Chrysler Industrial Center. The property is owned by the University of Delaware and is referred to as the Star Campus, though I am not sure of the proper legal name. Thank you. Regards, Jay

Hi all, I have been having the same issue for several weeks now. On my Android phone, Survey123 crashes when I access the application through a custom URL in a feature pop-up in my web map. I open Field Maps, my web map, select a feature, pop-up opens, and I click on custom Survey URL. I am returned to the pop-up. I choose the custom URL again, and an error screen pops open. I updated Survey123 on my phone this morning, behavior returned. I signed out of Survey and Field Maps, signed back in to each, Survey first. With Survey already open, I signed into Field Maps. Accessed the web map, feature, feature popup and custom URL, and the Survey form opened as expected, passing in the field data set in the custom URL. I selected a half dozen features, and Survey opened as expected and passed through the data to the form. So we adjust the workflow to have Survey123 open prior to opening Field Maps? Regards, Jay

Good morning! I found an earlier version of Pro (2.8.something). We were able to delete the pesky feature class in sde after disconnecting all the enterprise GDB users. Also, when we went to re-register the feature dataset as versioned, that setting had re-appeared. I don't understand how/why this all works (e.g., reverting to an earlier version of Pro), but am relieved. It also begs the question of will this happen again when creating new feature classes in our sde from Pro? Or if we unregister the feature dataset prior to adding new feature classes, will this prevent the issue, and allow us to restore version registration on the dataset after? In the meantime, we are going to perform a full compression of our GDB later today after user hours. Thank you again for the various ideas to try, much appreciated! Regards, Jay

We had a similar issue happen about a year ago. With Esri support we believe we identified the issue as failing (forgetting) to unregister the feature dataset as versioned, BEFORE, copying feature classes, renaming feature classes, etc. Ultimately, we ended up working through and resolving the issue, including a full database compression. We are going to repeat the workflow (after backing up the GDB) and see if we can clean up the issue. I was wondering when one adds a new feature class to a versioned feature dataset (without unregistering it as versioned), does the dataset automatically unregister as versioned?

Hello! Many thanks for the quick reply. The topic in general is a bit outside of my wheelhouse, so I struggle to understand completely, but let me provide some more information. I'm also a novice with using SSMS. In ArcCatalog, I can see our GDB is version 10.8.1, and the message says it matches our current ArcGIS release. I am assuming this is referring to ArcMap (at 10.8.1)? In reviewing the online documentation link you provided, it suggests our Pro versions are well ahead of our geodatabase version (second screen shot). We are using Pro 2.9.2. We updated our Pro users last week. The 'graphics to feature' work I did yesterday, after the upgrade. Just prior to the Pro upgrade last week, I did some similar Copy Feature work from Pro to our sde, into the same feature dataset, and had none of the issues I see now. This has me wondering if the new Pro version is now too "new" to write new feature classes to sde from Pro, and we are now past the backward compatibility "window?" I don't quite follow the SSMS steps you suggested to check the GDB version. However, when I check the version in Pro, I get the same message as with Catalog, and the prompt to upgrade is greyed out. I am not sure what is next to try, Esri support ticket? Any further help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. EDIT: My version of Pro was upgraded prior to the current feature class creation as well as the work I thought I did prior to the upgrade. All of the feature class copying was performed post upgrade.

Hello. I thought I was performing a simple Copy Features from a FGDB in Pro into a versioned feature class on our enterprise GDB, which succeeded. When I went to register the feature dataset as versioned, I received the following versioning error. I tried to delete the new feature class and received the following delete error. This all started by converting the labels from an enterprise feature class to graphics in a Pro project. I then edited the label graphics, then converted them back to features (Graphics to Features), then used the Copy Features to create the new FC in the feature dataset on our enterprise GDB sde, for others to use as needed. I am not sure what I can do next. I have server management studio but I hesitate to delete from there. Any help would be appreciated.

We have created a dozen stormwater BMP inspection reports, one for each BMP type, using Survey123 Connect. One of our multiple choice, select one answer questions, allows the inspector to choose his or her name. We would like to add an image of the inspector's hand-written signature, per the inspector selected, to the end of the survey. In other words, when one chooses an inspector's name, 'Jay Hodny,' that person's hand-written signature, 'jay.jpg,' will show in the survey automatically, instead of having Jay draw it on the device screen in the signature field. Is there a way to accomplish this in the Connect XLS form? Or are there other ideas/workflows? Ultimately, the signature will be passed/inserted into the report that goes to the owner or responsible party maintaining the BMP. Thanks in advance. Jay

Hello. I am working with a non-spatial table of water meters. I have joined a polygon parcel feature class to the table, so that each meter record has a parcel number. The parcel spatial fields, length and area, are available as part of the join in the non-spatial data. How do I, or can I, create a polygon feature class from this table? I am trying to maintain multiple meter records all having the same parcel number. In other words, if a property has 20 meters (apartments), there will be 20 identical parcel polygons stacked up. Is this even possible to do? Or should I use relate instead of join? Joins and relates confuse me.

Hello. We are using/learning to use TMM and an R2 GPS unit. We have had some mild hiccups, more so with Android than iPhone devices. On an Android device, we have to click the 'disconnect from the Internet connection' after enabling bluetooth, then close TMM before starting Field Maps. Field Maps will start TMM in the background, and all seems to be well. The iPhone is more forgiving in that one does not have to disconnect from the internet. It seems that if TMM is open and active and we try starting Field Maps, TMM throws an error regarding username or password being invalid, and then the connection to the GPS unit is lost. Here is a link to a short video we found very useful. I don't know if I have been much help, but wanted to pass along our experiences. Regards, Jay Setting up Trimble R1/R2 in ArcGIS Field Maps (frontierprecision.com)
