Hey Paolo, I apologize for my late response! The way I'd like to think of "Cross Filtering" is to compare it to dynamic selection. When you select a bar in a chart card in Insights, it automatically displays all points falling within that attribute in the map card. In the background, however, you can see that this selection on the map card is in "context" of other existing points that were not selected which is presented with higher transparency so you can see what are the correct points, per se. Cross Filtering eliminates this context and only shows you the exact points in the map card that you need to see without all of the background transparent points. To use Cross Filters, you select one or more cards that you're interested to see this in and then click on the Cross Filter button. Now, when you make selections, this will allow you to see target selections. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you, Aravind

Hi Pedro, The ability to "sync extents" for a chart card is not available in Insights for ArcGIS v2.3. I'd recommend posting this as an idea in https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas to gain traction. If you can specify what your use case is and how you'd like this functionality to be used for, that would help us. Thank you, Aravind

Hi, If this was a test environment and if you're just temporarily testing this with Insights for ArcGIS, would it be possible to change the security protocols for ArcGIS Server from HTTP and HTTPS to HTTP Only? Disable HTTP access to ArcGIS Server—ArcGIS Server Administration (Linux) | ArcGIS Enterprise - We'll be doing the opposite of what the doc says here. This is just a temporary test to confirm if the issue is with certificates. Also, please make sure that Insights is opened in http://<org>.maps.arcgis.com/apps/insights. What is the geodatabase that the feature service is using - SQL Server/Oracle/PostgreSQL? Thanks, Aravind

Hello Pan gis, I'd like to reiterate Nathan's point, but I was wondering if you're experiencing the same issue if you don't secure the feature service in the folder and register it as an item in ArcGIS Online. I'm curious to know if you'd be running into the same issue here. Thanks, Aravind

Hello Winston, My apologies for reaching out to this thread a little late. I was hoping you could provide me with an example of analysis services database connection within Insights for ArcGIS. To clarify, adding database connection in Insights for ArcGIS is currently restricted to the workflow of allowing users to bring in their enterprise database and geodatabase data as tables that can then further be visualized as tables, chart cards and geocoded as spatial data in map cards. We don't support using OLEDB connections to Insights at the moment as well. Further clarification on these queries would be very much appreciated. Have a wonderful rest of the week! Thanks, Aravind

Hello All, Cross Filter capability has been added to the new Insights for ArcGIS Online 2.2 release and is mentioned in the "What's new" page: What's new—Reference for Insights | ArcGIS . Hello Andrew, I apologize for noticing this very late. I was wondering if you could set ArcGIS Server logs to DEBUG and then run the Enable Location for it to return "Something went Wrong" and see if you can copy-paste the logs for the error? Additionally, Once you have your geospatial and tabular data loaded and you create the "relationships" to other data tables, can you perform queries on the joined data? Is something like that possible with Insights? Yes, this is possible in Insights. As you mentioned before, the hosted feature layer you've published to Portal that contains a common field can then be joined with the SQL Server table view. The relationship you create between the feature layer and table should result in a new dataset in Insights that you can then add to the page to query. Hope this makes sense. Hi Matthew, As I'm not sure if you're using Insights for ArcGIS Online or the ArcGIS Enterprise version, I'll add this for everyone who's interested in both the platforms. This can be done in a 2 step process: 1.) You can share your work as datasets in Insights: Share your data—Sharing in Insights | ArcGIS Share your work—Insights web help Use tab | ArcGIS Enterprise In both ArcGIS Online & Enterprise, running spatial aggregation doesn't cost credits. 2.) Once a feature layer item is created in your ArcGIS Online & Enterprise content directory, you can then export your feature layer to a file in order to use it outside of the ArcGIS platform: Manage hosted feature layers—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS - You can export a feature layer to (CSV) file, Microsoft Excel file, shapefile, file geodatabase feature class, GeoJSON file, feature collection, or KML. Manage hosted feature layers—Portal for ArcGIS | ArcGIS Enterprise - You can export to (CSV) file, shapefile, file geodatabase feature class, GeoJSON file, or feature collection at the moment. (Excel file will be available in ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6). Hope this is what you were asking for! Thanks, Aravind
