Arsh, I published an image service of a DEM, put it in a web map (along with my other infrastructure), made it transparent, configured the pop up to show pixel value (aliased it to estimated elevation), and let it go. When someone needs to know the elevation of a particular point or feature, it will pop up along with the feature. I compared my data with several different services (public and private) like contours, and it lines up nice. My staff seems pleased with the results. Best of luck, Larry

Jack, Jake is correct. You have to share all content with anyone you want to see. Make sure on the content page to click share then "access and update capabilities". Should work then.

I am trying to make a bar chart to show how much gravity main we inspected. I want to show it by Basin with the surveyed footage and shape footage stacked. I can't get both to show. I assume this is something simple but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I am doing this on our Portal (10.6.1), not online. Could this be a problem? I also read that map vs feature services could be a problem. Would not see it here, but who knows. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have it working on a web map and web app using an image service. I do not have it working, and would like it to, on the explorer app for iOS. When you click to identify, it grinds a second then nothing happens. Odd that it would work everywhere but there. UPDATE: Sorry should have read this closer. I am using server not online. Still, not working on explorer.

I had a different problem. I built a mapping service in Portal to show how the app would look. Just wanted to show and get feed back from future users. I built it in a file DB so i could make changes easier. Well, when it came time to actually go into production with a feature service, I imported it into my SDE DB and changed the source on the Map document. That through my error. The advice to create a new map document with new data source was correct. Once I did that, all was well.

Yep, Catalog, right click, manage, add attachments. Worked for me. Gives you the ability to do a web app and add from there as well.

Is there a way to see the location of those viewing your public maps? Do not care who they are, just a general location. Not concerned about our own employees, just general public interested in our data. Could help people with tourism efforts.

Mark, It looks like you are using this for tree locations. What the previous folks are saying is correct. You have to add a something that is editable (a feature class). You only have a raster right now. Add the trees feature class that you are tying to map. Then just use the settings that have been suggested previously. That should work. Larry

Not going to happen for me. There is good news though. As crazy as it sounds, There was only one feature service on a web map we used to collect GPS points using Collector. I opened that map, the data was still there. I saved it as a layer, put it into ArcMap, exported as a new shapefile, put back into existing DB and published a new service with the same data. We only lost a few days (very few points). We also had a back up of points that were shot that we were updating. So this wasn't the end of the world. After it happened, just wanted to see if the first way would work. I use the settings mentioned above for services that I have created that need to be protected. Lesson learned,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,check all settings on all important services!!

I was trying to keep the same template of the web app as it was but I could not search using the default search bar. I could add another search widget and make it work, just wanted to keep the same look and feel. Anyway, another member of our team said she reset the rest services and all is well. Just some kind of glitch.
