Hi Pam, I know you said "no error message". Does that mean that nothing is showing up in the log under Developer options? (as discussed earlier in the post). If you haven't tried with logging enabled yet, give that a shot and see if it can give us any more detailed information.

Update for anyone who may encounter a similar issue: I spoke with Esri Support and we tried a couple of different things. Ultimately, the workaround we found that suited my workflow needs was to use the Feature Class to Feature Class tool. When using that tool, I deleted the fields I didn't need from the Field Map menu. This created a new feature class in my established geodatabase with only the fields I needed while maintaining my field aliases and domains (this was critical the data will be used in ArcGIS Online and needs to have standard formatting). This was done in ArcMap 10.6.

2019 and still encountering this problem. I need to use the Delete Field (Data Management) tool to delete several dozen fields from a large feature layer. (in this most recent case, 43 fields in a feature layer with 105,533 features). I've tried this workflow in ArcMap and ArcPro on multiple data sets, and in both situations it caused issues. The data set ends up getting corrupted and it often crashes the software as well. If I go through and delete the fields one at a time, it's usually fine. But the whole point of the Delete Field tool (rather than just right-clicking a column in the attribute table and selecting "delete") is to be able to do multiple fields at once...I would think it should be able to handle this. Are there any ideas as to what could be causing this? Thanks for any input.

Not that I know of, but then again I haven't used many of the templates. I also go to Web AppBuilder by default since it allows for much more customization of the widgets.

I am able to see the story map without a problem, until I scroll to the Porter County section of the map (I can only view the "Start" and "What Is Storm Water" sections). Then it asks me to login, and I can't view it because I'm not a member of the organization. Is this the intended behavior? I'm using Chrome as my web browser. Have you tried with different browsers? (also, just wanted to say that the part I can see of the story map looks awesome! )

Hi Patrick, I don't think you can change this behavior in the web map, but you can definitely change it in web apps. Go to the Widgets tab and edit the Legend widget (this could likely be within the Header Controller widget at the top). Uncheck the box to respect the current map scale. That way, as long as the layer is turned on in the TOC, it will appear in the legend. Hope that helps!

Ok, is there a way I would be able to incorporate this into the model so the end user could enter any data set and not need to be concerned with adding it to the "template" geodatabase with the domains?

Hello, I am editing an existing model in Model Builder. The model takes a feature class as input and adds dozens of fields to it that are part of a standard template. Some of these fields require domains so that drop down options can be utilized once the feature layer is published to ArcGIS Online. These are all standard as well and I would love to add them to the model so that domains don't have to be added every time a new data set it published that has used this model. What I am stuck on is exactly how to add the domains. I see the "Field Domain (optional)" field at the bottom of the tool properties, but I'm not sure where it "looks" to reference the domains. The input for this model could be any feature class that the user wants to add these fields to, and would not necessarily be coming from the same geodatabase. Is that something I would have to require (adding the layer to a designated geodatabase) before running the tool? Or could I incorporate that into the tool? I am new to Model Builder, so I appreciate any help! Thank you!

Yes, this would be SO helpful! This is incredibly relevant to administrators who have to be very conscious of credit usage. I periodically go through our organization to determine if there are any feature services that aren't being used so we don't have to use credits to store them, but it is a very cumbersome and time-intensive process. As for the GeoJobe tool, it looks like it has a lot of great functionalities, but I don't see any way I can convince my organization to pay for the ArcGIS Admin Pro license, which is what you need to access the "view dependencies" feature. I'm sure I am not the only GIS professional who runs into budgetary concerns and pressures from project managers.... I really hope we can see this implemented in a future version of ArcGIS Online.

Derek, I just looked into the the GeoJobe Admin blog that you linked. After looking a bit at the software, it seems that you need at least a Pro version of the software to be able to view dependencies (which is $500/year). Is this correct? Do you know if there has been any discussion about adding this functionality to the standard administration tools within ArcGIS Online?

Matt, This thread has been very active recently. Maybe it's related to what you're experiencing? https://community.esri.com/message/862251-re-feature-layer-not-displaying-in-explorer-app-but-displays-in-ago?commentID=862251&et=watches.email.thread#comment-862251
