With the new update, the Expand button has disappeared.

The replacement, Focus Mode, is a significant downgrade:

  • It's buried under the ellipsis (...) menu.
  • It takes two clicks instead of one.
  • It only focuses on a single window rather than expanding the entire group, removing access to other relevant information.

This is one of the most disruptive ArcGIS Online changes I've encountered. The previous workflow was faster, more intuitive, and far more useful. The new approach adds unnecessary steps while reducing visibility and context.

Previously we could expand grouped elements before the June 2026 update. Now it seems we can't do that with focus mode. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope I am noticing the same thing.  I was able to "expand" large groups of widgets together, now Focus Mode is forcing them to expand individually.  Which defeats the purpose of me grouping them together in the first place.

Echoing the above comments, this is a very inconvenient change. Apart from now being faced with having to manually reinstate element expansion on hundreds of dashboard charts, the loss of access to selectors when the element is expanded severely reduces the utility of this function. The dead white space at the top of maps when element expansion is configured is also suboptimal.
