Hi Stephen, I am looking to simulate water flow in pipes which sounds like I am really pushing the envelope on this, but I have always been wanting to push what I know as well as what understand, and mostly explore areas that few people have. Coming up with something complex and innovative is always tricky, but I can't help challenging myself and seeing whether or not there is an end or if simply opens up other opportunities. -Robert

Thanks Stephen, I wasn't sure about the whole Unreal/City Engine/ ArcPro direction, but I had a hunch that there may be a way. I have yet to try and test your idea since I haven't installed Blender or Unreal Engine but I am hoping to sometime soon. I just wanted to see if anyone has done this yet or figured out if it was possible, but it does seem to be. Thanks again for your help Stephen, Robert

Thanks Stephen. I was simply curious about the ability to create complex animations that could be used online. I was intrigued by the animated windmills and thought about other possibilities with the animated symbology. It does look like a tedious process to create the animations, but I think that if the boundaries on this could be pushed, it would create more opportunities in terms of advancements in this direction. I will keep checking this to see what other possible solutions may exist. On another note. Do you know if it is also possible to incorporate 3D Animations created in Blender. I was looking at some examples in the software about creating water animations and I think that there is a way for me to do it, but like you said, the process would be extremely tedious but otherwise possible. I will keep researching this to see what direction I would need to take. If you have any other ideas or hints that may help me in this endeavor I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Robert

Hi Janett, I would like to define the path based on a line segment(s), and/or a point or points. The use case is I have a model where I want to be able to add points and/or a line segment(s) which would allow for the user to look around based with a first person point of view. I want to be able to also have a defined path that the user could click on and have the point of view follow the path while also allowing the user to look around while moving along the path. I would like to also be able to set the direction in which the camera could face while also moving along the line segment. Another thing I'm looking to add is to set the camera facing angle/point of view to a locked focal point while moving along the line segment. Any of these additions added online would be greatly appreciated. I'm still working on the model but I would like to have these capabilities added. Thanks, Robert

Hi, Given the direction that hopefully Esri is going in, I thought it would be nice if it would be possible to have a first person point of view/camera that would move along a given path facing any set direction. I don't know if this could be made possible sometime down the road but just thought to mention it. Robert

Thanks Anthony, I was hoping to also see if they would be able to allow network traces to be done with 3D models in AGO webscenes. I am working on a project that I would like to incorporate the capabilities of the network trace with the 3D model and so I wasn't sure the direction that Esri is taking in terms of 3D capabilites. If need be I can try to run a tool with the model published from pro to AGO and see if I can feed the results into the AGO webscene model. Robert

Hi, I thought that it would be a nice idea to incorporate a 3D Network Trace. It might be easier to do simply because there already exists a network trace for 2D features. I am working on a 3D project and I would like to be able to do a network trace in 3D since I am working on a model that includes several 3D line features. I think this would be a good benefit to the 3D webscene capabilities since webscenes are still relatively limited. I am hoping ESRI will continue to expand more in the 3D webscene environment.

Hi, I was wondering if the network trace would work in 3D as well as it does in 2D. I would think that the setup would be about the same and so i wasn't sure if ESRI has worked on/currently working on a way to allow for the construction of 3D networks. If not then I will post the idea for one to be created. Robert

Hi, I am working on a project and one of the things that I have come across that really excites me is the ability to combine services similar to the one I found in the link below and allowing users to add these features without needing to code these in. I don't know if this is doable without coding currently, but I would like to apply this capability to my maps using other applications. If anyone knows of anything about this please let me know. There are other external applications that I would like to utilize that would further enhance the models that I am constructing and this would allow me to do that. https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/sample-code/scene-external-renderer/live/index.html Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Robert

Hi, I am working on a project and one of the things that I would like to be able to do is publish the keyframe animations for 3D that I create (in either ArcScene/ArcPro) and publish those animations into ArcGIS Online for the 3D model. I know time enabled layers can be published and then ran like an animation but I was looking to see if there was something dynamic that could be published to ArcGIS Online. If anyone could make this happen that would be great. Otherwise, maybe a third party option might be the way to go, at least for the time being. Thanks, Robert

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to import keyframes from other applications into ArcPro/ArcMap. I was looking to see if it was possible to do this because am working on a project that I would like to incorporate other keyframes that are created in other applications. Any help or ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Robert

Thanks Stefan. What I was thinking is if I could render the visuals in such a way that I could apply the textures like a symbology and bring it back into CityEngine or ArcPro. I know I can apply symbologies in such a way that the aesthetics would still be kept but I wasn't sure to what degree. So I was just wondering if this was possible or not. I figured I couldn't import from Unreal Engine directly but I thought I could import the textured layer as a symbology. I will keep researching to see if this is possible. Thanks, Robert

Hi, I have a quick and very simply question. Has anyone every used Unreal Engine and imported the Unreal Engine scene into CityEngine/ArcGIS Pro. I am just curious because I think this would definitely enhance the overall aesthetics of the scenes if it can be done, but if it can't then I will see if there is a way or post this as an idea. Thanks, Robert

Thanks Scott. I knew of another work around but it would take me twice as long compared to just separating out the features themselves.

Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to separate conjoined multi patch features into individual multi-patch features. The reason being is that I discovered a workflow where I can export a Microstation dwg/other format into ArcGIS Pro. I noticed that when I do so it merges all of the individual layers into a single multi-patch layer. I would like to be able to separate these so that I can add attributes as well as being able to add related tables, attachments, etc. I know of a complex methodology for this but I just want to make sure that there isn't an easier way to accomplish this.
