In previous versions of Survey123 the user will try to submit a form and, upon validation, the application will directly take the user to the first field (if many) that, either due to constraint not being met or a required field entry not being entered, didn't pass the validation. I've noticed this is no longer in place. I always found this implementation very convenient, particularly when the forms are quite long.

Thanks Phil. I had meeting yesterday and was asked to also be able to generate the same type of report by calling a record in the dashboard or a simple web map. This will actually be another great tool if it can be implemented. Thanks.

Wonderful Phil. I must have missed this. I don't recall being able to do this in previous versions, but I've just checked and works exactly as you describe.Sorry about the confusion on my end. How about displaying existing records in the survey itself? This would be useful if I am returning to an area to conduct an assessment, and I am not sure what has been done already. The other option is to add a button in the inbox to open an empty survey from the map screen. Thanks.

Thanks Phil. Wouldn’t it make sense though, since Survey123 provides the option to create a time field, to automatically set the day of the epoch EPOCH value to the day the user is selecting the time of interest? There won’t be much value in the date at this point anyway, but probably a much better option. I seems to me that this field would have an important limitation if it doesn’t allow comparing values of the same field type, which is my case. I understand the workflow around the star/end datetime, but believe these two values are automatically set by the application, so not a whole lot of flexibility here. My other option is to remove the date field that I created to indicate the date of the burn and rely, as you suggest, on date time fields, although it would be redundant and a little cumbersome for the user, since the date is almost always prior to current, sometimes a few months back. The good news is that we have a potential workaround. Thanks.

My form contains two time entries (start/end) and I have a constraint to prevent users from entering an end time that occurs prior to the start time. This won't work neither in Survey123 Connect or the published form (includes web form). Any advise will be highly appreciated. Any advise will be highly appreciat

James. I've been trying to replicate the issue, but it works now. I wonder if the latest version has anything to do with it. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

Adding to my previous comment. The issue is only happening in Internet Explorer. Any other browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari) works fine.

I was on a hard deadline and wasn't able to ask this question earlier. I have a date field in my web form (created using Survey123 Connect) and wanted to add a constraint to make sure later days than current were not allowed. This didn't work, so I ended up removing it, although the issue persist. I found out later I was restricted from selecting any date withing the current month. My last option was to create a text field with a regex constraint that would ensure a correct entry. Any advise in this regard will be highly appreciated.

I really like the custom templates. Anything in mind as far as letting users completing web forms print a report using this functionality?

Adding to my previous comment. I thought of leveraging the inbox settings and retrieve the records that way. This will require creating an instance in Survey123 that takes into account the fields that have been populated in Collector. Not sure if I am missing anything.

It would be highly beneficial if a user could tap on the map to set a location and be able to see the location of those records that have been downloaded using the Inbox. Additionally, allowing the user to retrieve a record by selecting it directly in the Inbox map could add a lot of value to this functionality.

I've publish a form and create the corresponding hosted feature service. In my workflow, I want to use Collector to add a point in the map, run a quick assessment, and flag a house with a damage category (None, Minor, Major, Destroyed). Later on, I'd like to pull up this data in Survey123 to complete a more detailed assessment if appropriate. Collector supports the first part of the workflow (add a point to the map and enter the appropriate data). But the next step is a little trickier, since I am pretty much limited to transfer that information to Survey123 with a custom URL that requires re-selecting the record and submitting my request. The URL will transfer the data, but also create a new point with a different location defined by Survey123, thus, duplicating the records. Ideally, a user will add a point in Collector to populate the required data, and then provided with the opportunity to edit the remaining data in Survey123 with a simple click. Conceptually simple, but probably not easy to implement. I wonder if the current inbox setting could be leverage for this purpose.

Great post. I've been trying to implement the extent limitation for a web form, but the X,Y values are not going through? Is this not supported for the web at this time? To be more specific, I'm testing by exposing XValue and YValue in the form, but no matter where I set the location in the map, these two values are still calculated as 0, so the message that the specified location is outside the allowed extent is always displaying. I'm using Chrome and have cleared the browser.
